Thanks all, and now I need to find images of a dark skinned else who's not a drow/drow like, so I can put it in my CIR/Sig.. *sigh* That's gonna be the bigger challenge.

What do you mean by dark skinned? Like black or a dark Elf?

Okay, as one of those people who has a huge CIR (been working on it a few years), I think the key to success is really not trying to focus on everything at once. What I do instead is have something happen in my PC's life, then add a section to my CIR. Just recently she met a really great guy, so boom he got a section. When she found her faith, boom the Goddess got a section. Don't try to plan it all at once, its too overwhelming. And remember, you can always reorganize your CIR later if you don't like the order things are in.
She's a craftsman, so I'm constantly having to explain jewelcrafting settings to people, or looking up the melting point of a metal because of a thread I'm doing, so I got tired of it and just put examples in my CIR. I use the thing for a quick reference for almost everything about Viskyia... the Crow leggacy (who adopted who on down the line), friends and family, all that sort of thing.
The key I think is to just have fun with it, but don't get TOO much stuff in it. I've seen some really nice CIRs that could have been super great, but they are so overwhelming with so much writing, people won't really look at the whole picture. Keep it simple, elegant, and just do the important things daily... add in thread links and coin usage (I'm so far behind on that, its all on stickies notes instead).
And really, if you see something you like on someone's CIR, you can always hit 'reply with quotes' and see what sort of code they used... and how they used it. Just don't accidentally post in their CIR!

Or, if you like a legal and free version of photoshop, try The GIMP. It's similar enough you can even use photoshop tutorials.

Speaking of, everything you see me do is done mostly in the GIMP. My AGM accounts signature had some help from Lauren, who uses Photoshop, but when I ask her for help it's mainly with fonts. She's REALLY awesome with fonts. GIMP can still do the work, I just don't have a cool font collection.
