Specialty Weapons

So this question might be going more in depth into the game than I can go yet, but are there any items (preferably weapons) that can arcanicaly enhance, say my elementalism skill? And if not could it be possible if set up with a GM later I could quest for one?

Also, some weapons they dont mention in this, could maybe some poin and time specialized weapons be introduced say like a Kusari-gama a.k.a. a chain sickle? I kind of have an affinity for chain weapons and like the idea of an Earth Elementalist utilizing a chain weapon to help with spells :P

I suppose the question can be interpretted in three ways

Q1. Are there items which can improve my arcana level (say, from initiate to apprentice) while I use them?
Answer: Yes, but these are particularly rare. And very difficult to come by.

Q2. Are there items which can improve my ability in arcana while keeping me within the same arcana "level"?
Answer: Yes, there are. These are mostly items such as wands; which tend to be used by lower level mages and are easy to get a hold of, and at higher levels staffs; which the mage must make themself. I've never seen a mage's staff take the form of a chained weapon... but perhaps it's possible

Q3. Are there items which can shortterm boost my abilities in arcana?
Answer: Use the arcane "drug" mageburn. But it's addictive, and weakens arcane abilities in the longrun.

As to the use of the specialised chain weapons... I don't see why not

Characters have used Kusari Gamas before, just because it's not in a training manual doesn't mean you can't use it. Check out Charo Rakhirhata's profile and see how she learned it for ideas on training threads.
