[top]Era XVIII-XIX (2011-2012) - Xet, Threllius vs Arctic, Wave of Darkness

Autumn Era XIX (Sept, Oct, Nov 2012)
Secrets :
Autumn has arrived throughout the Aelyrian Empire...and the Black Fog continues to plague the western provinces. How will adventurers continue to deal with the problem? And does the fog pose any further threat to the provinces that now border it...?

Era: XIX
Months: Tempris, Junctior, Kalendryas
Holidays: Selhaim (Junctior 31), Empress Michelle Day (Kalendryas 1), Royal Day (Kalendryas 9)

This chronosynch will run from September until the end of November.

Mid-Summer Interruption, Era XIX(June, July, Aug 2012)
Secrets :

"It's always darkest just before it goes pitch black."

Midsummer is traditionally a time of jubilation in Aelyria. A time of coronations, celebrations, and unity across the Empire.

This Midsummer is not one of those.

In the West, a Wave of Darkness has overtaken the entirety of Lauryl and Arakmat Provinces, as well as the city of Riparia, shrouding them in a vile miasma. Refugee camps have cropped up along the border where this darkness has -- for now -- stopped, and many survivors of this catastrophe have awoken to find that all they knew is gone.

In the North, hostilities between the provinces have led to Eunesia instituting a blockade of their own. No ships may berth at Eunesian ports, and reports indicate that many "mainlanders" are being deported as the Eunesians repudiate their link to the Empire.

In the East, Aelyria Prime has been hit with a tidal wave stemming from the destruction of the Ancient's Ark. The Old Prime wards of Highport Autonomy, Ostward, Lion Parish and Unicorn Parish have been completely submerged, and much of the rest of the city is devastated.

And on Insula Coronae, the Xet have been driven off, but Ikerael has been torn asunder. Setting aside their personal ambitions, the claimants Arctic de Ioannes and Threllius de Lylles are meeting there to reach a new concord to save an Empire that appears to be disappearing under darkness overnight.

 What This Means
All cities in Lauryl and Arakmat provinces, as well as the city of Riparia, are closed to new threads.

If your character was in these locations, you will have awoken from the Wave of Darkness in a refugee camp, with nothing but what you were carrying. The dark miasma repels all attempts to enter and all attempts will result in your character losing consciousness and being returned to the camp.

All cities in Eunesia are also closed to new threads. If your character is currently in Eunesia and is not a local, expect to be deported.

The Old Prime subforum of Aelyria Prime is closed to new threads. New threads will crop up (eventually) to deal with this crisis.

This all takes part in the latter half of Summer. Any timestamps you may have put on threads in these locations that cover the latter half of Summer are voided and will need to be reverted to the first half of Summer.

Summer Era XIX (June, July, Aug 2012)
Secrets :

Summer: Era XIX Post Fractum

They're back.

For centuries, Aelyria's neighbors to the West -- the insectoid Xet -- have presented a persistent if quiet menace to the Empire. Thwarted in their overt incursion and attempt to subvert the Aelyrian Throne decades ago, the Xet have nonetheless presented a silent threat to the supremacy of the Aelyrian Empire, even as it has been wracked by internal strife and chaos. They have watched, they have waited, and now at the time of greatest peril, they have chosen to strike at the heart of the Empire itself.

In Aelyria Prime, Firstcity of the Empire, the machinations of the Xet and their unlikely ally and one time hero of the Empire, Tor Totalitat, have resulted in the return of a force once thought vanquished: the Xetan Swarm of 33 eras prior that had disappeared in mysterious circumstances. Also returned from that time, though, is the Empress Alyssa Chrysinaria, long believed to have perished in the chaos of the previous incursion. Across the Realm, adventurers fight to prevent this foul incursion from destroying the remnants of Order.

On Throneworld itself, Praelarctus Karolus -- the Ancient once known as the Emperor Constantine -- watched as his message of hope and unification for his Empire has been turned to a conveyance of terror. But there is little he can do, for a bulk of the Xetan Swarm strikes at Ikerael itself. The Ancients, once thought to be omnipotent beings of immense power, are hard-pressed to counter this assault.

Would-be Emperor Threllius de Lylles has cast aside all pretense and made claim to the Throne of Eternity in open session of the Senate in Medonia. Wielding the power and prestige of the Lylles dynasty, Threllius began his march on the Firstcity in order to capture it, but when he arrives will it be as a conquerer, a liberator, or will he succumb to the Xetan menace?

From the North of the Empire, presumptive Empress Arctic de Ioannes has launched a daring raid, capturing Candaceburg itself and imperiling the supply lines of the Southern cities. Poised to blockade Portshire and begin her own siege of Aelyria Prime, will she arrive in Prime as a savior or saboteur?

As peril and chaos converge, what few eyes aren't fixed on the chaos of the immediate threat turn to the West... and wonder what will come next from the menace there.

Spring Era XVIII (March, April, May 2012)
Secrets :

Spring XVIII -Springtide Storms on the Horizon!

The harsh breezes of winter have departed as the warmer breezes of spring take hold of the Kingdom of Aelyria. Despite the warming of the weather and the reemergence of wildlife from hibernation, tensions around the realm had begun to rise as varying phenomena piqued the interest of travelers, residents and adventurers alike. The weather seems to be responding in turn, with an increase in rainfall that is slightly unnatural for the Kingdom. Farmers are rejoicing, while children bemoan the increased rain showers that keep them inside.

In Carmelyn Province, coastal residents spoke of particularly choppy waters and gusting, unnatural winds. Some blame the remnants of winter as they reluctantly relinquish the northern reaches, while others worry that something more foreign and stranger is to blame.

In Enamoria Province, rumors and whispers of rising tensions surrounding the recent incidents of the previous season in Port Alyxandra have begun to spread worry of backlash, but from what and against whom was not necessarily clear.

Somewhere in the far southwestern regions near the Sea of Diana, adventurers speak of a mysterious, silvery mist decorated with baubles. A concentration of Fae-folk have been spotted in the area, and many talk excitedly in whispers of all manner of things, including the reemergence some sort of physical mid-way point between the Aelyrian Kingdom and their ancestral home, Fae'rel. (Fintagel is open!)

What This Means: Aelyria is experience an abundance of rain. Many provincial and seasonal related events are on the horizon! While a subtle tenseness is rising in Aelyria, many attribute it to the shuffling seats of the government. Adventurers will find many opportunities to get involved with many exciting things this Spring! This new chronosynch spans the three full months of Cryxatum, Apertius, and Optia and we are well into the new era: Era XVIII Post-Fractum (PF) which began last chronosynch on the 1st of Ponutis. Winter Era XVIII-XIX (Dec, Jan, Feb 2011-2012)
Secrets :

Winter Arrives
As though from Order's broken wings
the white down from the Heavens pour
as Princes plot and Mercy sings
and mighty hosts prepare for war.

In Enamore, in Carmelyn
the heirs do gather to them 'round
they know now not to try to win
as snowdrifts blanket all the ground.

And so the season's preparations
belie travails that lay ahead
perhaps from grand aspirations
will come the cure for what was dead?

Autumn Era XVIII (Sept, Oct, Nov 2011)
Secrets :
The Eclipse of Chaos
Chronosynch: Autumn Era XVIII PF

Summer has given way to Autumn, and even as the seasons tilted and the months changed, spectacular happenings in Heaven itself have occurred. Thanks to the efforts of Serion D'Rinishad, Straylor Leonard, Fizden, Duncan Sythe, Pescado Branch, Fidelis Meridius, and other notables throughout the Realm, the Age of the Darkening has finally come to a close, as was foretold in prophecy.

But even prophecy could not predict how it would end.

Having bided their time, the Aeternian Gods Jorel, Meephos, and Haya, with the assistance of a loose coalition of Planetars and the efforts of their servants on the Material Plane, managed to break through the barriers from Aeternia to Aetheria, piercing the heavens at Pantheon in the Great Mountains and waging war on Ioannes Himself. Playing upon the chaos left in the wake of Diana and Carmelya's great wager, the Aeternians have changed the very nature of how the Planes themselves interact.

In an assault that was ultimately halted -- for now -- the following events have shaken the Heavens:
  • The passage of the Aeternians from Aeternia to Aetheria has changed the way mortals interact with other Planes, including the Essence Planes. Spellcasters and arcanists across the Realm report that their own powers have been changed by this event; most notably, the requirement for mages to meditate prior to achieving the clara state has been lifted.
  • Following an event in the deserts of Arakmat, the Planetars Rak and Materna managed to follow behind the Aeternians and enact a scheme of their own. Temporarily claiming the powers of Creation and Destruction reserved normally only for full Gods, Rak rashly called upon the latter and has destroyed the Goddess Diana utterly. Rak has been stripped of this power and remains at large, while the Planetar Srennius has engaged Materna in combat eternal in another dimension to stall her plans.
  • As was prophesied, with Diana eliminated, Carmelya has regained her full power as a Goddess. This influence has led to a bonanza crop in Garenburg and other assorted miracles of nature.
  • With the blessing of Carmelya and the belief of her alter-ego, the Ancient Aelyrian Aedaan has ascended to the status of Planetar of Mercy.
  • Aeternian cultists of Jorel, Meephos, and Haya, emboldened by the success of their Gods, have come into the open to wreak havoc in the cities of Aelyria.
On the mortal plane, a couple events in the North and South of the Realm are seen of signs of long-standing unrest finally moving to the fore:
  • In Enamoria, the House Maeve have called a select group of nobility and friends together for the funeral of Archduke Davon Maeve. Curiously included in the guest list is the Prince of Lysandria, Threllius de Lylles, who has uprooted his entire home court to attend the funeral during the course of a grand tour of Enamoria.
  • In Carmelyn, a claimant to the Throne of Eternity has declared herself: Empress Arctic de Ioannes I, sister of the Emperor Valerian and daughter of Emperor Constantine, is now making a bid for her birthright. Based in the ancient port city of Kaldira, Arctic has assembled the local legions and other mercenary bands under the banner of none other than the Queen of the Blade, General Rhysatra, former commander of the Empress Audrey's forces.
And finally, rumors come from the countryside of Prime as to strange events occurring with mixed explanations as to how they are coming about, moving inexorably west towards the Khardran Mountains. There is but a single name whispered, one not heard in ages: Vernhart, half-brother of Constantine.

Luckily for us all, with the end of the Age of the Darkening, a new age is heralded in: the Age of Heroes.

Summer Era XVIII (June, July, Aug 2011)
Secrets :
 Summer: Era XVIII Post Fractum

The storms of Spring have raged and gone quiescent, but the true tempest of turmoil seems to only be beginning across the Realm as Summer begins.

In Arakmat, rumors of the suppression of a covert Xet attempt at hostilities are running rampant. The Province is buffeted by turmoil from both East and West, and many are looking to the House of Al-Hakkar for guidance as conditions seem to only be heading towards more chaos in the Realm.

In Arium, the return of the populous theocratic city of Aslangrad has shifted the balance of power. With a new titan in their midst, long-standing alliances are being torn asunder and new accommodations are being made. Elsewhere, reports that the temple at Pantheon has become inaccessible due to an unprecedented increase in lightning strikes in the region have been made.

In Carmelyn, the great storm of Spring has passed and it is a time of rebuilding for many. Rumors out of Kaldira speak of an assembling of mercenary bands and possibly even some Aelyrian Legions, but none confirm who is leading this new force, or what purpose they may have; all that can be confirmed is that the Legions in the Province do seem to be absent from their posts.

In Centripax, unconfirmed rumors of a massacre at Midpoint Fortress are being spread, but details as to who did it, how, or for what purpose are sparse, as the military command at Midpoint refuses to give any answers or even confirm that an incident has occurred. Meanwhile, outsiders have been expelled from the Dwarven Kingdom of Dargis, and many dwarves throughout the Realm seem to be returning home.

In Enamoria, the sudden death of Archduke Davon Maeve XVI has come as a shock to all. With the exit of Maeve's paramount Lord from the political stage, animosities and rivalries within and without House Maeve that were merely brewing before are coming to a full boil as the nobles of Enamoria clamber for power, prestige and position in the seething mire of chaos attending the Archduke's funeral. Who will rise to the top, and who will be found at the bottom of a riverbed?

In Eunesia, the turmoils of the Realm have yet to penetrate, but they seldom do. The Summer promises to be very heated, nonetheless, and the appointment of a new Thane in Secyclion appears to be rearranging the power structure in the archipelago.

In Lauryl, the Western branch of the House of Lylles remains silent in the face of recent controversies and challenges. Many wait to see if they will yet bestir themselves in the face of adversity from both East and West, but only time will tell.

In Sherian, the great blizzards that have barred entry to the Province for over half an Era are still raging even as the heats of Summer approach, but news from the South of the Province indicates that a great many more survivors from Narim and Taralon have made camp there and eke out an existence there, the dreams of Empire shattered as the hopes of ever returning home wane. More alarming to many but heartening to others, rumors out of Orckon indicate that the Black Wind of the Ancients may not have wiped out entirely as many of the Orcish race as was originally presumed.

And in Prime, the Heart of the Realm, the turmoil is perhaps at its greatest now. Contesting for their fair share of the harvests from Candaceburg and the Kaldiran basin, a portion of the population of Aelyria Prime has taken to the streets in the unrest. More disturbing are reports that the wards against magic in the Palace and at the Black Tower -- prison for many of the most notorious criminals in Aelyria -- have failed, and that the cells of the Black Tower lie empty in the aftermath. Control from the capital is rapidly deteriorating, with reports of who now rules in Prime changing by the cycle. In Lysandria, reports have spread that the aging Prince, Antonius, has been set aside and his more ambitious nephew, Threllius de Lylles, has been invested as the Lord of Lysandria and Prince of Prime. Tales of Ikerael speak of Karolus -- known before as Constantine -- bestirring himself once again, and the Realm itself shudders in apprehension at what new trials the Ancients are to inflict upon its already battered body.

Winter Era XVII-XVIII (Dec, Jan, Feb 2010-2011)
Secrets :
 Winter's Whisperings

The cool breezes of autumn have given way to the sharper, colder winds of winter. As travelers and commoners alike gather in the taverns and common rooms of the realm, seeking the warmth of the hearth and perhaps of a good stiff drink or two, tales from across the realm are told, and in the telling transform, paving the way for adventurers seeking profit and peril in the Kingdom of Aelyria.

In Prime Province, the great etchings that had appeared nearly two eras prior declaring the reign of Milo the First, Faithful Servant of Order have mysteriously faded, and are said to resist all attempts at their replacement. Many take this as credence of the reports of Milo's disappearance, demise, or even status as a puppet of a foreign power.

The Province of Sheria has become obscured under the howling of hailstorms and the storms of snow obscuring all paths in or out of the province. Many flee in the cold white face of winter where before even swords and sorcery could not before drive them forth; some to the south, but many more to the north. The harsh and abrupt change in climate bars all but the hardiest of adventurers from entering.

In Arakmat and Lauryl, word has spread of caravans disappearing in the night, the tracks of wagons and trails of horses simply disappearing, as though the merchants had simply vanished into thin air. Word is spreading that with so much turmoil in the East of the Kingdom, the Xet themselves may be stirring in the West and girding themselves for a direct confrontation, and strange silhouettes are glimpsed in the lengthening darkness of night.

Other tales abound throughout the realm as well. Stories of the Gods and Planetars making themselves more manifest to their devotees, of the arrival of strange winged humans in the remote corners of the realm, of the Jorelites rising in opposition to the renewed fervor of the Church of Faith, and other tales of turmoil and travails are told.

What This Means: Adventurers will find a great many leads -- false and true -- to follow this season, as rumors are exchanged and word of mouth brings tales to the ears of the restless footed. This new chronosynch spans the three full months of Immanis, Ponutis and Melora and stretches between two eras, beginning in the current era XVII Post Fractum (PF) and marking the start of the new era XVIII PF on the 1st of Ponutis. [top]Era XVI-XVII (2009-2010)

Autumn Era XVII (Sept, Oct, Nov 2010)
Secrets :
 A Haunted Autumn

There is a cool flavor on the breeze as the weather has turned a bit more sharp and keen. The colors of the trees have now become vibrant mixtures of oranges, reds, and yellows in their last celebratory explosions before the onset of winter. While the morning mists settle a little longer over the ground, the populace of Telath is also greeted with the whispers of ghosts rising from the ground, graves being found overturned and coffins empty. It isn’t just winter coming around the corner; there is also the world of the paranormal intersecting with the material, sharing the tidings that death may just not be the final end.

What This Means: Adjurators will find themselves quite in demand as rumors of haunting figures and ghostly visits spread throughout the populace. This new chronosynch spans the three full months of Tempris, Junctior, and Kalendryas of Era XVII Post-Fractum (For more information: Calendar).

Summer Era XVII (June, July, Aug 2010)
Secrets :
 The Summer of Revelations

The brightenings grow longer and the weather more temperate as Telath’s suns shine down with the renewed ferocity of summer’s onset onto the ground beneath. Crops are welcomed back to life by its tender rays, the grasses have grown tall and strong to whip in the wind, and the breezes are sharp and bright across the skin. Scholars predict this summer to be slightly warmer than normal as a by-product of the ever too recent Longest Winter, but not disastrously so – just enough to balance out the cycle of the seasons.

The Spring of Rebirth

The winds have grown gentle and the suns peek out of their cloud-ridden skies as spring has finally come again to the land of Aelyria after a long and dreary span of winter-bound months. The old folk claim that the signs of the weather portend a gentle spring; the farmers say that their crops now stand a chance to grow. From all appearances, this spring should be a blessing if only for its pure normalcy – a promise of rebirth, a chance to rebuild, and an opportunity for hope to rise again.

Winter Era XVI-XVII (Dec, Jan, Feb 2009-2010)
Secrets :

Duration: December 1, 2009 to March 1, 2010.

The Winter of Miracles

Winter has come again to Aelyria, just four scant months after the Longest Winter. Without an opportunity for animals and plant life to regrow and revitalize, food is still a struggle and times are still rough. Yet despite the hard times, little miracles have flourished in various places throughout Aelyria, sowing hope (or despair) where eyes and ears have discovered them.

Arakmat: Reports of small children inserting themselves into and calming disputes have cropped up throughout the province. The children are all rumored to be fair-headed and bearing an almost unnatural calm about them.

Arium: Citizens are noticing that the insects are not hibernating as expected, giving rumor to the prospect of a healthy and vibrant spring to come.

Carmelyn: Throughout the Carmelyn Province, hearth fires cease to diminish and are said to fill any homestead with a continual warmth, keeping families cozy and comfortable regardless of dipping chills and raising winds.

Centripax: Small patches of fruits and vegetables flourish throughout Centripax, bursting from the soil in locations that were previously uncultivated stretches of land.

Enamoria: A miner in the Khardran Mountains has returned from his latest venture boasting a raw amethyst that many claim to be in the likeness of Diana. The gem is stated to have an almost unearthly glow, encouraging confidence and hope in those who view it.

Eunesia: Fishermen return to port with hauls of fresh fish, their catches the perfect quantity needed for the population on the islands. Larger ships with huge nets are reportedly catching less, resulting in a much-needed balance.

Lauryl: Trees throughout Lauryl are periodically bursting into song, serenading locals and travelers with harmonies meant to inspire hope and joy throughout the region.

Prime: The Three Princes from the Royal Houses of Lylles, Maeve, and Ioannes begin a journey from the corners of Prime to journey to the Firstcity in response to the igniting of a star atop the Gianna Khrystalis in Aelyria Prime, bringing with them treasures, tribute, and homage to all whom they meet.

Sherian: Citizens of Sherian are breathing rumors of strange folk passing through the province, blessing those they meet with sweet dreams. These rumors have it that those who meet these folk sleep well that darkening, dreaming of peace and plenty and waking with a sense of rejuvenation.

The new chronosynch spans three full months, Immanis, Ponutis and Melora, and also marks the start of a new era; Era XVI will come to its conclusion on the 50th of Immanis, while Era XVII begins on the 1st of Ponutis. (For more details on the calendar: Kalendyr)

The Kalendryan Society Splits!

The new Timestamp should be:

The Months of Imperos, (Tempris), Junctior, & Kalendryas in the Autumn of Era XVI.

Nerds around the Realm go mad!

A schism in the Kalendryan Society escalates around the Realm, no matter the loyalties of the local town. Everywhere the Skywatchers and Skygazers can be seen brawling and fighting outside their observatories. Some telescopes and laboratories are destroyed in the madness, as the astronomers and followers of Kalendryas disagree over some fundamental basics of Time. Hierophant is against Hierophant, and the 10 orbits of the Kalendryan Society are in complete disarray.

Game Masters please click here

The Kalendryans are fighting over whether the month after Imperos is Junctior, or whether to add a new month based on the reappearance of the 3rd sun.

The warmer weather permits some plant growth in areas of a more tropical plant growth. The general weather is very wet, muddy, with bare trees and no harvest being brought in to help against the winter to come.

The Third Sun Reappears!

The new Timestamp should be:
The Months of Aperitus, Optia, & Ioannes in the Longest Winter, Era XVI.

All eyes turn heavenward as the third sun returns once more!

This season, which saw people hurt and wounded from the previous awful winter, saw the very embodiment of hope in the form of the third sun. The reappearance of this is seen by many in the Kalendryan Society as being Divine acceptance and approval of the reign of Prince Milo, although, of course, there are dissenters who claim the contrary is actually true.

The winter's chill seemed to be small in comparison to the enormity of this.

No matter that the winds still howled, there was a real sense of hope throughout the kingdom as the third sun reappeared. Whether there was something that had happened in Silrosia, or in some other part of the Kingdom following the Longest Winter, no one rightly knew, but there was a feeling of hope... of rebirth. And it stemmed from that beautiful disc in the sky.

Mysterious Flora Grows and Blooms Throughout Aelyria!

Rare, thought to be extinct, or never seen before plantlife has begun to crop up throughout Aelyria. These plants, while some of which are recognized by healers and thought to be extinct plants, seem to be flourishing. Blue Moon Mushrooms, some the size of barstools, have pushed through the soil. Silversword fern have cropped up as well, cutting the unsuspecting and uneducated. Seers eye, a lovely lily, has even begun to bloom in the Palace Parklands in Aelyria Prime much to the delight of the Royal Herbalist. Even normal autumn vegetables, such as pumpkins and squash, are seemingly growing to record size. When herbalists and healers were consulted, no one seems to know the reason behind this.

Summer Era XV (June, July, Aug 2008)
Spring Era XV (March, April, May 2008)
Winter Era XIV- XV (Dec, Jan, Feb 2007-2008)

[top]Era X (2004)

Junctior (October 9th 2004 - November 9th 2004)
Secrets :
October 9th 2004 - November 9th 2004

The Month of Junctior in the Season of Autumn, of Era I of the Celestine Mandate (Current Pattern)
Era X Post Fractum in the Age of the Darkening, the Mageocracy of Julos the Mad
Paradigm: Mystique Threatens Rebellious Frigid River

With the troubles in Jaedaxia seeking a close, who can say what the Imperium will do in the light of Frigid Rivers sucessionists. There is still the Mageocracy to be dealt with, and the threat of the Xetan border.

Ioannes (June 2nd 2004 - August 31st 2004)
Secrets :
June 2nd 2004 - August 31st 2004

The Months of Ioannes to Imperos in the Season of Summer, of Era I of the Celestine Mandate (Current Pattern)
Era X Post Fractum in the Age of the Darkening, the Mageocracy of Julos the Mad
Paradigm: The Truce of Demios and the Merfolk

While the Empire waits with baited breath for the outcome of the arrival of the Aelyrians, an event now gone by over a month, the citizens of Demios sign a truce with their adversaries, the Merfolk. We can only hope for a similar peace during the two months of summer.

Optia (May 1st 2004 - June 1st 2004)
Secrets :
May 1st 2004 - June 1st 2004
The Month of Optia in the Season of Spring, of Era I of the Celestine Mandate (Current Pattern)
Era X Post Fractum in the Age of the Darkening, the Mageocracy of Julos the Mad
Paradigm: The arrival of the Ancient Aelyrians in Aelyria Prime/Springtide Holiday.

The Ancient Aelyrians descended on Prime during Springtide, an old holiday that traditionally marked the changing of winter to spring. After a six month long winter, torn by war and plague, the citizens of the Empire could look forward to the turn of the seasons. The one month long Spring would hopefully herald more than just changes in the weather.

Hopefully the political climate would also change for the better.

[top]Era IX

Winter to Spring
Secrets :
Telath is in the Third Era of the Celestine Mandate. It is the age of the Darkening, the Mageocracy of Julos The Mad.
Paradigm: Coronation of Queen Sharinya of the Fae Folk

I've added the Chronosynch for Autumn XVIII (Eclipse of Chaos).

As a note, the offset on the stuff that's missing may be a bit foofy because of Longest Winter realigning how the Aelyrian IC calendar matches with the RL OOC calendar. Since, addtiionally, those announcements are less obviously named I need to do some sifting before I can get those to you.

Winter XIX-XX (December 2012-February 2013):

Secrets :
As winter weather begins to take hold across Aelyrian lands, the issue of the succession, the shadows of the Dark Fog that wiped out Lauryl and Arakmat, and the questions about the encroaching Xet still remain as each city and each citizen begin to fight for their very survival.
Aslangrad: Change is in the air, as the whispers of rebellion abound. The people of the City of Courage are displeased with their continued poverty, and the recent rise of demon mages and vile dark elves to positions of power in Arium Province. Heightened animosity between Aslangrad and Nexus Prime grows, dividing further an already divided province, even as delegations and diplomats from various powers attempt to calm the waters.

Paxia: Paxia is surviving the prolonged Naval Blockade by Jaedaxia and Nexus Prime by increasing overland trade with Aslangrad. In response to that act of war, Paxian City Council voted to boycott goods from Jaedaxia and Nexus Prime, as well as forbidding citizens of those cities from entering Paxia.

Demios: Demios is in a world of political turmoil, stemming from the aftermath of the cyclone, champion of Ain'lar's attack, and the prior volcanic eruption. The people have now turned towards the dragons and elemental spirits for guidance in what to do during these troubling times. It is very likely that Demios may close it's doors to anyone but the Incarri and dragon worshipers.

Portshire: Portshire is acquiring refugees. The influx has depleted harvest stores causing an inflation and scarcity of food.

Nexus Prime: As the bitter cold descends on Arium, Nexus sends more recources to the Northern Refugee camp that lies nearby with an eye towards forging the collection of desperate men and women into a city in its own right. Meanwhile, travelers near the city have reported the sudden appearance of standing stone monuments about the city, seemingly erected in the dead of night. What can they signify?

Jaedaxia: Jaedaxia is content to keep to itself for the moment and consolidate its position on the Libertine peninsula. Relatively far removed from the troubles and political turmoil of the rest of the realm, the city plans to take the opportunity to strengthen its economy and further develop its infrastructure.

Arconis: Arconis continues its reconstitution efforts, fortifying its walls and repairing portions of the city long in disrepair. Kemite Refugees funnel into the city along with other peoples displaced by the Wave of Darkness. The Twice Destroyed, despite its turbulent history, and the perils currently facing the Continent, stands poised to gain far more than what has been lost to it over the past ten eras.
This new chronosynch spans the three full months of Immanis, Ponutis and Melora and stretches between two eras, beginning in the current era XIX Post Fractum (PF) and marking the start of the new era XX PF on the 1st of Ponutis. (For more information: Calendar).

Holidays: Reginaliar (Ponutis 31), Corinalia (Melora 14) (For more information: Holidays).

Duration: This chronosynch lasts from December 1, 2012 to February 28, 2013.

Spring XX (March-May 2013):

Secrets :

"Si vis pacem, para bellum."
"If you wish for peace, prepare for war."

The Succession War is over, ended before it truly even began by the furious onslaught of Xetan invaders. Decimating the Firstcity of Aelyria Prime itself was only the beginning, as the provinces of Lauryl and Arakmat were fully engulfed in a corrosive mist that devours life and even magic itself.

Having weathered the storms of Winter, the Aelyrian Empire has emerged reforged and renewed under the reign of the new Empress, Rhysatra I. Laying aside their claims for the good of the Realm, the Lylles and Ioannes have rallied behind Rhysatra's banner in the face of the existential threat posed by the Xetan incursion. Appointed as the first of Rhysatra's new Viceroys, the strong arms of the Crown abroad in the Empire, the former claimants to the throne now work to rally their partisans and rectify their errors in order to build the foundations for a new order.

Arctic de Ioannes, daughter of the Emperor Constantine and heir to a mixed magical heritage, has been appointed to the role of Rhysatra's Supreme Commander in the West. Given command of Aelyria's legions, Arctic must rally the Empire behind Rhysatra's banner and work to strip away the all-consuming Fog before it spreads any further.

Threllius de Lylles, scion of the Lysandrian House of Lylles, has meanwhile taken up his appointment as Rhysatra's new First Minister and majordomo, tasked with ordering the chaotic cacophony of the Empire's many bureaus and ministries as they vie for the Empress' favor. Having set aside his differences with Arctic, Threllius must now work to ensure the rest of the Empire falls into line, else it consume itself before the Xetans ever reach Prime again.

But the Xetan menace is not a passive one, and it does not wait for affairs to order themselves. Goaded by the successful incursion of adventurers into the Fog, the next stage of their offensive is about to begin. What new horrors will emerge from the Fog, and will all of our efforts be able to prevail against such evil?

What this means: This new chronosynch spans the three full months of Cryxatum, Apertius, and Optia and we are well into the new era: Era XX Post Fractum (PF). (For more information: Calendar).

Timestamps for threads beginning in this period can be started in Cryxatum, Apertius and Optia of Era XX.

Opportunities and challenges involving the Xetan War Front and the Imperial Realignment will emerge this season.

Holidays: Prima Vera (Cryxatum 1), Creana Festival (Optia 16). (For more information: Holidays).

Duration: This chronosynch lasts from March 1, 2013 to May 31, 2013.

Summer XX (June-August 2013) (Note: This sync is ongoing and will update through the season and will have version updates as it goes):

Secrets :
Summer Era XX Post Fractum
"Echoes of Doom"

Brave adventurers, seeking the source of the malignancy that has consumed Lauryl and Arakmat, have discovered the source of the magic- and life-devouring fog that covers those provinces: strange sacs of flesh and carapace. Even as the heroes thwarted the expansion of the threat, the greatest of fears was now confirmed: the Xet Alliance was indeed the force behind the catastrophic miasma. As the fog rolls back and as the refugees struggle to hold onto hopes, a question hangs over the Empire: what is on the other side of this mist, and are we ready to confront it?

Meanwhile, other concerns occupy the heartlands of the Empire, as Faust Kitrye'veresi, Baron of Vortex, has launched a surprise invasion of Maeve, seat of the ducal house of the same name. Slighted by the ancient noble house, the Vysstichi lord will soon have to make a decision on how much he is willing to pay for vengeance. Tied down in the reconstruction of the Firstcity and the mounting of the Western defenses, Imperial attention remains diverted elsewhere, for now.

Elsewhere in the Empire, eras of strife are taking their toll on the sanity of the people, it seems. Incidences of vivid nightmares are more commonly reported, with children reporting to their schola magisters of seas of blood, skittering spiders, and slithering snakes. Some go so far as to claim that a few are even not awakening from their sleep, seemingly trapped in their dreams, but such superstitious rumor-mongering is frowned upon. Others voices speak in hushed tones of a Dreamscape, another reality where shadowy forces are seeking something dark and where the light grows dimmer by the moment.

This new chronosynch spans the three full months of Ulyris, Ioannes, Imperos and we are well into the new era: Era XX Post Fractum (PF). (For more information: Calendar).

Please timestamp all threads from here on out between Ulyris, Ioannes, and Imperos of Era XX!

Duration: This chronosynch lasts from June 1, 2013 to August 31, 2013.

Autumn XX (September-November 2013):

Secrets :
Autumn Era XX Post Fractum
"Drums of War"

The fear that has been weighing on all Aelyrian hearts since the fall of the Great Fog across Arakmat and Lauryl has now been realized. The Xetan Alliance has finally come out of the shadows and launched an all-out offensive against the Aelyrian Empire on multiple fronts. Cities in Centripax, Arium, and Enamoria are all besieged by great slave armies and their Xetan masters, eager to expand out of their Western lands.

Will anyone be able to stop them? Or is the newly-crowned Empress Rhysatra and her unsettled government not in a position to repel this threat? And what of the Viceroys Arctic de Ioannes and Threllius de Lylles, whose recent silence has made the empire little more than local fiefdoms with no real central authority? Will opportunists see this for what it is, or will devotion to a past ideal prevail?

Or perhaps all these questions are moot, as the Aelyrian Empire stands on the very brink of being overrun and absorbed by the Xet who have long awaited this day...

This new chronosynch spans the three full months of Tempris, Junctior, and Kalendryas and we are well into the new era: Era XX Post Fractum (PF). (For more information: Calendar).

Winter XX-XXI (December 2013-February 2014):

Secrets :
Winter Era XX/XXI Post Fractum
"Déjà Vu"

Hope is a very delicate thing. Over a third of the empire had already fallen to war and fog; now the Xetan Alliance have bared their teeth and taken even more of the beloved Aelyrian Empire, besieging and destroying Medonia, parts of Enamoria, Centripax, and Arium. Some survived. Many others didn’t. The heartbeat of the empire remains but faintly now.

With winter’s gentle snows come the distant and fragile thought that maybe, just maybe, this is a reprieve. Maybe, just maybe, one can finally catch their breath. Maybe, just maybe, the cold will keep the Xetan menace at bay and what remains of the Aelyrian lands can bolster what strength they have left. And maybe, just maybe, when the suns break out with the dawn of spring and renewed war, the Aelyrians will be ready.

But not all is calm this winter and all is not peaceful. While many prepare themselves for the next onslaught of the dreadful Alliance, some scholars have noted strange anomalies of Time Essence appearing all over the Empire. Some report strange feelings of revisited memories or vague, futuristic prophecies—as if time is no longer linear, but perhaps jumping, and mortals are caught in a game that they do not truly understand.

But who has time to worry about such trivialities when the Xet remain at Aelyria’s door? But then again, who ignores the signs of the games of the gods and planetars when it was proven ever so recently that even they could fall?

OOC Translation:

There is a reprieve IC from the Xetan Invasion given the turn of the season.

Due to certain other events, the security of the Plane of Time is now compromised. A seasonal event has opened in various forums to allow players an opportunity to investigate this.

Centripaxian Heartlands
Primus Countryside
Ariumite Highlands
Carmelyan Hinterlands
Enamorian Midlands

This new chronosynch spans the three full months of Immanis, Ponutis, and Melora and we are finishing the old and starting the new era: Era XX/XXI Post Fractum (PF). (For more information: Calendar).

Spring XXI (March-May 2014):

Secrets :

Spring Era XXI Post Fractum
"The Waiting Game"

Spring has come to the empire. The wilds continue on their unerring paths, wildlife migrating as the weather warms, the forest trees bursting into bud and flowers blossoming into colorful, earth-shrouding carpets. As the snows melt and farmers toil again in their fields, the minds that once would have turned to relief from the cold winter chill are weighing heavy on other matters.

In the west the black fog clings to the fringes of the empire, shrouding still once great cities. But it's the central lands that hover on the edge of the blade, nerves rattling, anxiety spiraling…and determination mounting. Medonia remains in the clutches of the Xet, an abandoned mecca that her people are desperate to reclaim. The lands of Centripax and Arium show scars of recent battle, a confidence in prior victories, but a certainty that the war is not yet repelled from their borders.

So as spring stirs throughout the lands, mounting conviction of forthcoming battles builds. With that comes questions.

What will the empress do to reclaim her stolen lands?

What will the Xet do to keep them...and to gain more?

What will you do to stop the coming tide?

Months: Cryxatum, Aperitus, Optia (The Calendar of Aelyria)
Holidays: Prima Vera, Cryxatum 1; Creana Festival, Optia 16 (Holidays in Aelyria)

Summer XXI (June-August 2014):

Secrets :

Summer Era XXI Post Fractum
"The Wane and the Wax"

The time of the Aeternians has come.

With the Eclipse of Chaos, the Aetherian pantheon has been shown to be weak, and the gaping hole in their defense has been exploited. The balances have swung in the favor of the dark deities, empowering those that serve their Aeternian masters to bring about their lords' wills on the Material Plane, while those whose allegiances are tied to Aetheria have found themselves, and their gods, enfeebled and vulnerable.

Darkness arises, while light is put out.

And what of the Planetars, those deities that stand between? They stand quiet for now, dormant, and not yet picking sides. Only the most faithful may know to which side of the line their patrons will fall should the choice arise.

But even more of the pendulum has swung.

Time, it seems, has fallen into chaotic mess. Dilations, contractions, flashes of déjà vu, and portents and prophecies have been reported throughout the land. It is also said that chronology is now disordered, and that time will move far too fast and much too slow for the mortal mind to comprehend.

And what of Kalendryas herself? No one knows. Nothing has been heard nor felt of the Planetar of Time for months. Rumor says that corruption leaked through the veil and has overtaken the once-stable realm, but no one knows for sure. But it is known that the Hourglass of Orod, that most treasured artifact of legend is gone. Lost. Destroyed.

Or is it?

OOC Translation:

PCs and NPCs with Aeternian ties will see an increase in the power and influence of their god-granted powers. PCs and NPCs with Aetherian ties will see a decrease in their gods and powers in equal measure.

Dark things will begin to arise over the Material Plane as Aeternia-below begins to mount another assault on Aetheria-high. PCs will have a chance to affect this flow and tip the balance of influence based on their actions this season to promote or thwart their chosen sides.

PCs and NPCs will age one era each month this season. While it seems like only three months pass during summer, PCs and NPCs will find that their bodies have seemingly moved forward by three eras instead.

Time anomalies will begin to appear all over the Material Plane.

Rumor has it that a new Planetar has arisen in Kalendrya's place. It is uncertain who or what they are and what they represent.

This new chronosynch spans the three full months of Ulyris, Ioannes, and Imperos and we are in era: Era XXI Post Fractum (PF). (For more information: Calendar).

Please timestamp all threads from here on out between Ulyris, Ioannes, and Imperos of Era XXI!

Duration: This chronosynch lasts from June 1, 2014 to August 31, 2014.
