Ibus's adventurer's finally goes

2.nd Brightening, 1.st cycle of Autum, 1 Imperos, Era XIV.
Just outside the gate Ibus was looking at the mass of folk leaving and entering the city, smiling and waiting for his adventurers. A great unrest had settled into his body as the time to leave came closer and closer. His eyes looked to the gate, hoping to see any off the heired folks. The giant, the sea elves, the little scribe too.

It was a moment of truth of for the little ball of exotic fur. Would they let him down at the last moment?

[Lilith Mistshadow]

Lilith was a punctual creature by nature, tending to show up at appointed times rather then early or late. Telling Riles of her success in finding the Lutran and her currant plans had only taken a moment and she had wiled away remainder of the candle marks finishing up a bit of work.

"Master Ibus." She said with a smile and a wave as she approached.

[Kaer Delnbone]

Kaer strode out of the gate with the purchases that he had made at Abby's carried in his arms in a bundle. P'ana, was not far behind him, but he had lost sight of her for a moment and had went on. She was not far, and would be here soon, probally right after him.

Stopping near where Ibus was Kaer said," I got the materials on the list boss. Cost was one hundred forty crowns. I also made sure that they were well crafted and so they should serve us well."

Without waiting for the reimbursement, Kaer laid the bundle down, and dropped his pack from his shoulder. His shield follwed quickly, and he went about placing the equipment onto his pack, tied in place to make sure that it would not come loose. The long poles he left out, as well as the box of chalk. Then, to make sure the tools would stay he placed the pack on his back again and moved about experimentaly. It would not hamper movement, or at least not enough for him to notice, and he would strap his shield onto the pack before he left. If he had some indication of an attack it would be easily accessible, and even if not his dadao would be able to be drawn quickly and allow him to defend himself. The pack could be dropped in less thatn an eyeblink as well so Kaer was satisfied. He would have asked one of the others to carry it, but it would probally be too heavy for one of them as they were not from hardy species. Besides, even though they might have trouble with it he barely felt the weight.

Dropping the pack again he picked up the long poles and set one aside. One he would carry to check the stability of passages and to check for traps in the floor. The other, Ibus would probally carry if he brought up the rear as a spare. The chalk he divided into two parcels, one would stay with him and the other, again, would probally go to Ibus. Kaer had no intention of getting lost, and everytime they had to take a turn or choose a passage he was going to make a mark so they would know which way to go if they got lost. It would also serve to guide anybody who got seperated from the group.

Turning to look at Ibus Kaer told him his ideas (OOC: as stated above) and offered him both the pole and the chaulk. After a moment of thinking Kaer said," Boss, I'm not sure how trained the others are with weapons, but both you and I have them, and know their use. I think it would be best if I took the lead, since I'm obviously the best suited and armoured. If my size and weight can make it through then all of you certainly can. And due to my size, anything that we might run into might decide to turn away when they see me. But I think that it would be best if you were to bring up the rear. That way our backs would be protected, and you could have time to response if anything happens at the front. You will also have the map and that would help to keep it safe." Kaer paused gathering his thoughts and then continued saying,"I would suggest that everybody, with the exception of myself since I'll be one point, tie themselves together with the rope once we enter the tunnels, so that nobody will get seperated. I won't be tied since I may have to respond to a threat quickly and if I did I could injure one of the others by dragging them. Those are my thoughts on the matter and the best way I can think of to proceed with the information that we have available."

Kaer fell silent, his throat dry from all the talking. He didn't like doing it much, but in this situation, where lives could be at stake, he didn't want to leave anything to chance.

[Lilith Mistshadow]

Lilith found Kaer's talk of the possibility of a fight somewhat disconcerting but was not to put off by it. All lowlanders seemed to be of the opinion that fights were imminent when ever they did anything. She sometimes wondered if it was the reason why they fought as much as they did.

"I know a few knots that would work for tying us together." It was a common enough practice in the mountains but could lead to trouble for the inexperienced.

[P'ana Taschii]

P'ana rushed up to the others, feeling a little guilty for being late and surprised at how far Kaer had gotten ahead of her when she'd stopped to talk to the provisioner. She'd figured a quick sprint would bring her back into line with him, but she had underestimated how far he could get with his long legs and more powerful stride.

She arrived in time for the second part of Kaer's speech and took a moment to imagine the group tied together by a rope. She was pretty sure her energy would prove detrimental to such an affair but decided against voicing her thoughts on the matter. These others had more experience than her in matters of adventures, and she had never been a huge fan of caves. Though perhaps she would be after this venture.

She hesitated, wondering if she should apologize for being late, and then decided against it. They'd probably gotten sick of all her apologizing by now. Instead she leaned down to dust off her feet and rubbed at her nose. She was ready whenever.

[Tali'yae Katrna]

Tali’yae had completely missed the assigned meeting time and she had completely forgotten about it and was, at the time, coming back from a swimming session she had, which had taken up most of the day. She got caught up in the fun of swimming and hunting and hardly noticed so much time had passed. As she was making here way back home she noticed one of the party members at a store and the whole thing came back to her. She was supposed to meet Ibus somewhere at sometime, or something like that. She couldn’t remember exactly, but she decided to follow them anyway.

Before long she was at the gates of the city and she could now hear a few others that were also part of the group, including Ibus. She was lucky to even show up for this adventure, but whether she was still a part of it was another question. She didn’t really think of it that way and assumed everything was fine. She quickly left the city with little on her but what she was carrying on her way back from fishing. She had her dagger, her spear, and a few fish, enough for her for a day or so. She hadn’t gone fishing for heaps, only enough for the day.

The most unusual thing she had with her was probably her clothing. It was completely unrequired, but she had a few months ago requested to have a swimsuit made. The clothing people from the land wore weren’t made to be swum in and instead of just wearing what she would with her tribe she decided she wanted something new. What she got was two pieces of skimpy clothing that were somewhat resilient to water, salt, and such. Due to the lack of coverage it looked like something only a whore would wear, and even still not on the streets. The whole thing didn’t seem to bother Tali’yae, but she still only wore it when she went swimming.

She made her entrance late, missing everything that had happened beforehand. She was following P’ana after all and by quite a distance. “Serale,” she said happily and then waited. She wasn’t exactly what was going on, but she was willing to give them the time to explain.

[Ibus]

Ibus was clearly annoyed by the untimeliness of the lates ones arrival.
And dint answer them. Giving a silent treatment until the last of the late arrived.
"Common! We ain't got all day, Serale yes. Now follow me, I got the old map."

In fact he was waving it at them while he spoke so none could miss it. That he had the map. It was clearly old and sturdy.

"Now lets find a silent place outside, close to the city but far away enough to be totally alone. I will show it to you, and tell what fuzz its all about."
He started to walk away from the road and into the wild place where the road din't go. "Come ,come we aint got all day." He said teasingly.

[Carly Jr'ana]

Carly had waited off in the distance where the adventurers could not see her, waiting for her friend Tali to show. She was hardly likely to go rushing off on some adventure with a group of unknown amateurs, when her friend finally did show they were already leaving. Picking up her sword, and slinging her backpack over one shoulder, she clipped along to them all and waved informally in greeting. She wore her adventuring gear this day, good solid boots and dark green clothing. Her normally frilly hat was no where to be seen, though her doll peeked out from the backpack. She strapped the sword to her side and kept pace beside Tali.

Kaer waited till the other started then brought up the rear, following until Ibus called a halt. Until then he kept his eyes alert and watched their surrondings. It never hurt to be careful.

And so the group was set. The likeable lutran had convinced, connived, or cajoled the bunch into following him on the pilgrimage to find his heirloom. Each had joined for their own reasons, but the thirst for adventure ran deep in all of them.

The winter had set in officially, but the suns had not given up warming the brightenings. It would be the darkenings that would turn cold first, leaving a frost on everything at ground level.

"Good. Looking shap Kaer. Tell me if you see something suspicious."
Ibus was looking for a Higth in the wild from where they would have god look out of the area and could set a temperately camp for a candle mark or so while planing the next move with his 'experts.' Time to lead.
"Scout, find me some high ground with good lookout. Don't go beyond Kaers sight. Ok?"

The trail along the city walls was clearly marked. Lilith had traveled it before and knew it well. Carly waited for Tali'yae out of sight of the others. Kaer at rearguard was prepared, but there was little threat outside the walls close to the gate. As they traversed the length, the chance of danger would grow.

P'ana Taschii had delayed their start, but Ibus still had managed to get the diverse party through the gates and onto the wall trail. The friendly lutran was determined to find his family treasure, even if the stone wall stood on top of it.

Kaer simply nodded in response to Ibus's orders. This close to the wall there was little chance of there being something dangerous lurking about but Kaer didn't believe in taking chances and would rather be safe than sorry.

When Ibus told P'ana to scout ahead to find a decent spot with a good view, and to not get out of Kaer's sight the half-giant snorted in humor and said," Boss, from where I am standing and as tall as I am she could go half a league before she got out of my sight!!"

Still chuckling Kaer follwed the rest, still aleart for threats.

[P'ana Taschii]

Awkwardly, feeling a little odd about being late but not being particularly remorseful, P'ana joined the strange group. She was bursting with excitement and the urge to talk more to the other thelyri but before she could she heard Ibus' orders and decided there'd be other chances to share stories and other such things.

P'ana giggled slightly at Kaer's words, but ran ahead anyway. She didn't know these other two very well... well, she didn't really know anyone very well. But it was oddly comforting to have other thelyri around. She kept her eyes looking around and tried to clear her mind so as to have room to take everything in and process it carefully. She liked having a task.

Her sight being not her strongest point, she jogged a little further ahead. She certainly wasn't the most graceful mover ever, but she liked the rhythm of land beneath her feet as she ran. She tested her sonar to find some place that was higher, like Ibus had asked of her and slowed to a quick jog. It wouldn't do to tire herself out at the beginning.

[Tali'yae Katrna]

Tali’yae had caught up to group fairly quickly and fell into pace. She wasn’t taking much notice of the wilderness and such. She left all of that to the giant and the thelyri she didn’t really know. She was more focus on randomly talking to Carly about things that sort of had something to do with the journey, but none of it was vital in anyway. Tali’yae just like talking and said whatever was on her mind, which could be amusing at times. Either way she quite enjoyed talking regardless of what the other thought about it.
