Salak is unknown and forgotten
Salak poked his head into the store. He wrinkled his nose almost immediately at the unnatural smell of the place, it reeked of man to the young elf, but he stepped into the room anyway, he had come here for a reason and wasn't about to leave just because of some bad smell. He walked through the room, looking around at the other wares and soon found himself by the counter. Waiting, till everyone had finished, he leaned on the table and placed his belt beside his arm.
"Uh... I found myself down a belt."
he said, scratching the back of his head.
"I uh, won't go into the particulars... but the point is I need require you to fix it... please. And would your skills allow a small pouch for coins and the like to be added?"
he concluded in his proper manner of speech.

"Oh, and one more thing to be added. Do I recall som talk of blades training?"

Lindy spoke up, as she had been involved in the training conversation.

"They recommended I ask Lork at the L&G anvil about training with knives. I suspect that I shall do so, depending on what he charges. Bruskness I can cope with, high charges may cause me trouble."

"Do you know the place? If you have time we can go together. Perhaps he would train us at the same time and give us a discount for volume."

Salak turned towards her as she spoke, nodding as she told him about her plans. When she finished he stroked his chin,
"Hmm. We shalt have to see, I find myself with a distinct lack of daggers, I have nought but a sword in my possession, and a desire to keep it so. But I would be most interested to accompany you if they provide intruction on the way of the sword."
he mused.
"But then again, it will take a few candles of the brightening at the least to complete my request here, so I have time that is spare. Well it would seem that logic would command me to accompany you to this place. I am afraid however, that I know not where this store resides, therefore I must follow you, that is if you possess this knowledge?"
he asked.

"It so happens that I do know where the place is. He custom made these weapons for me there." She indicated the katars hanging from her belt. "Please do finish your business here, and we can go there directly. Oh yes, my name is Lindy Ravenswing. Pleased to meet you."

Lindy browsed about the store as Salak continued his business. She was somewhat interested in buying an outfit made of thin black leather so that she might look more dangerous, but was a bit embarrassed about it and hadn't built up the nerve to ask.

Salak eyed the weapons as she indicated to them, and his face twisted up in confusion, they were most strange, a wide blade, taking up the whole of the hand guard, which was squared and if you held it on the side your had would barely fit between the blade and a piece which went horisontally between to two sides of the hand guard. Because the blade took up the whole hilt, it meant that your hand would be offset to the middle of the blade if you held the vertical piece of the hand guard, which would make using them difficult. He considered the possibility that you didn't hold the on the vertical piece, which sparked a memory from a tale he had read... She continued talking as Salak decided to enquire later. She urged him to complete his business, and he smiled and turned back to the shop owner.

It was not long before he had completed his order and left his belt with the owner, he would return to pick it up next brightening. He strolled over to Lindy and stated,
"I am terribly sorry for my rudeness, I greet thee Lindy Ravenswing, I go by the name Salak. It is easy to recall."
he joked.
"Now shall we be goi-"
he stopped short, mid-swivel as he noticed the item Lindy appeared to be looking at. It was a small black leather number, which was... Mildly Revealing. Swallowing, the elven boy turned back to her,
"That item was not your focus, was it?"
he asked. Not that he would mind her wearing it... he just wouldn't know quite where to look...

Lindly blushed slightly. "I was just considering the type of leather. Besides I very much doubt if it would fit me." Lindy was a tall girl, a bit over 6', and she was used to having to custom order clothing that included legs or sleeves.

"Are you done with your order? If so, we can go now."

Dire collected fifteen crowns from Salak. Henrietta had him explain exactly where he wanted the pouch. She took the leather needle and punch. She said, "It will be ready by tomorrow's brightening.

Arriving at the forge, Lork Boneshatter was pounding on the anvil. Red sparks flew into his long beard and onto his leather apron. He didn't seem to take his eyes from his work, but he said to Lindy, "Fine sheaths you have purchased from the Drohans. Henrietta is an artist with leather."

He noticed the tall woman was accompanied now. He acknowledged Salak with a nod of his hairy head.

OOC: Sorry I was gone for the last couple of days, I was sick as.

IC: Salak cleared his throat,
"Ah, yes, my order shall be complete by the next brightening, so we may depart."
he said and headed out the door. It was a short walk in the Portshire sun, with Lindy leading the way and Salak following with hurried footsteps, after all, she was a lot taller than he was and hence had a much longer stride.

It was not long before they arrived at the L&G Anvil, and headed inside. The Dwarf {he is a dwarf right?} at the anvil greeted Lindy and nodded to Salak politely. Most elves had some problem or other with Dwarves back home, but through reading tales of their toughness and bravery in tales, Salak had come to respect them and gave the Dwarf a nod in return. He looked around the store, it was amazing, the half finished and finished items often looked just as good as each other and all things look like they were crafted by someone of considerable skill.

Lindy was surprised by the dwarf's keen peripheral vision, but said nothing about it. Perhaps this was a skill inherent in all dwarves.

"Yes, I'm quite pleased with the sheaths. While I was there, we had a discussion about my daggers and they suggested that perhaps you might be able to give me training in their use, which is why I'm back. I should mention that even if you are willing and able to train me, I may not be able to afford it at the moment. My funds are rather limited. Still, I thought it best to get the facts of the matter first so I would know how to proceed."

Lork rested his hammer on the anvil. He said, "I charge for my training, but there are other ways to earn the skill from me. Since I seldom leave the shop, I am remiss in my contacts. The barge from the Khadrans is due soon. My kin will be shuttling ore by boat. I cannot get away to meet them, so I need a messenger. Are you interested?"

Lork had to look upward at the tall girl. The elf with her said nothing, but did not seem threatening. Lork returned the nod. He had no hatred of elvenkind. If Lork disliked any race, he never showed it in the shop.

Lindy listened to his proposal. It sounded quite generous to her.

"I should be happy to be your messagner, and if you want help unloading your ore I would gladly pitch in with that as well. I am strong for a girl, although I must admit tha I don't have the strength of a dwarf."

Remembering that she hadn't come alone, she gestured to Salak. "By the way, this is Salak. I met him while getting my sheaths."

Salak stepped across and offered his hand to the dwarf,
"I greet you master Dwarf, and permit my tongue to say that your wares are most impressive, the craftsmenship is most admirable. To business, I would be thrilled to find that you also train in the way of the sword?"
he finished, patting the blade across his back.

Lork's face remained impassive. He said to Salak, "You have found the best blade trainer on the docks. I craft them, and I have used them many eras before settling in Port. I can impart my knowledge as long as it doesn't interfere with production. As long as you practice what you learn, you will become proficient quickly."

Lork turned to Lindy. He said, "You are a tall one, and there is loading to be done. My kin Jarel Glanston will be arriving by barge on the north docks near the Naval base. A wagon will be waiting there for the offload. Werga Bari will be waiting there as well. He is your contact. A dwarf also, of course. Do not be insulted by his grumpiness."

Lindy recieved Lork's information with a similar impassive look to his own. "I am well used to grumpiness and can control my sensitivity. Being a tall woman means dismissing many rude comments. Tell me what time to meet your ship and I shall be there and help in any way that I can."

Salak piped up,
"What about me?"
he asked the dwarf,
"Should I help too?"
he asked,
"Or do I have to do something different to learn the sword?"
he finished.
