Quote:
The Isolationism of the Nimâlni
"If our people ever had a fault, it would be that we were not born far enough from the other races. We sympathize with the plight of even our fellow elfish brethren, but these are problems created by their own desires to encroach upon other races. Detente is an utter insult for a people who have the potential to do all that they need to do on their own. Some call this isolationism, but we call it self-sufficiency. For anyone that would dare to claim to champion conservancy of the natural order of things, they must truly rely upon no one but themselves. In the privacy of uninterrupted reflection can we as a culture evolve our unique talents and strengths. Our society has art, music and literature that spans millenia - untainted by foreign influences. Our martial arts are the envy of the known world. We shall not enslave our values to whatever utilitarian circumstances may arrive. We are a proud people, and we are here in this rugged terrain because we shall continue to be proud." -Detilia Prálei, "Address to the Potem'Sha".

Prelude
I, Belthazar D’voriôn, was sent to the Aelyrian Empire in order to learn as much about the Empire as I could, and to insinuate myself deep into its core. I am not the only one sent out from my home, but we are few in number. Our task is to find out as much about to Aelyrian Empire as we can – but our motives differ. Some wish to reconcile Nimâl and Aelyria once and for all, while others wish to prove that the two should remain separate. Being of the former mind-set, I am both gladdened and saddened by the things I have read and experienced in my time since leaving my home, yet I still hope that we can be unified. To that extent, I have written here a history and compendium of Nimâl, so that the inhabitants of Aelyria can learn about my nation in return.
