Cyraxian Draft 1
Okay, only been three years, but time to play followup.
1.) Really don't care how they have sex. Really, really don't. First draft has enough of that, so go annoy Juan if you're really that inquisitive. ^_~
2.) Yes, there's typos. Grats for noticing. Trying to get the bare bones first, I'll worry about grammar in the next draft - this is for additional, available IC info and records and stuff to add to it. (Incidently, I'm Australian. Some spelling mistakes are just because you come from a nation that butchered the English language. Be glad I didn't write this in Strine.)
3.) Yes I'm aware of Juan's posts in that Aelyrian may equal Cyraxian. IC info does not equate to OOC info. I've tried to vague it up a bit for exactly this reason.
4.) I removed a lot of the history stuff and links that I found in the first draft, mostly because I really don't care that the Dracons founded their first city after the war and all that. Look for info, stuff that needs fleshing out, etc. Accuracy can come later.
Cheers

Race Name: Cyraxian
Abstract Description:
Cyraxians are a subject of much debate and historical scrutiny within the Aelyrian Kingdom. Nemeses of the Ancient Aelyrian’s, Cyraxians have managed to claim a position as one of the most fascinating and dangerous creatures found within the Multiverse. The very existence of the Cyraxians however is so shrouded in mystery that has led towards a series of records that, to the discerning scholar, reality and fantasy appear to converge. Determining fact from fiction unfortunately has become almost impossible to prove given the Cyraxian’s elusive nature and destructive presence.
What cannot be denied is that the Cyraxians are a race of Aeternia, Demonic in origin and that their legacy affects the Aelyrian Kingdom to this very brightening.
Physical Appearance:
Humanoid in build, the Cyraxians appear as a parody to the Ancient Aelyrian’s. Where the Children of Ioannes are beings of beauty and grace, the Cyraxian’s are brutish, loathsome monsters. Standing between six and eight feet tall, their form tends towards a medium build with a higher proportion of muscle to fat. While covered in a fine layer of overlapping scales, Cyraxian’s were known to utilize armor during the Second Cyraxian War and so one can hypothesis that such provides little physical protection to physical arms. Prominent horns form from the skull upon either side at the temple, with ridges of bone running along the spinal column and primary joints such as the elbows and knees. Erupting from their back are a pair of wings with a total wing span of between twelve and sixteen feet in length and covered with a layer of scales finer than that found upon the body.
It should be noted that the appearance of the Cyraxians is something of an enigma due to their known ability to alter their physical form in a manner similar to Dracons and Merfolk. Whether or not the form most commonly utilized by the Cyraxian’s is their true one as such a matter of controversy. An example of such is the belief that the beings known as Necrosians are simply another aspect of the Cyraxians rather than a distinctive sub race.
Realm:
According to both the Church of Faith and the Mage Guild of Aelyria Prime, the Cyraxians originate from one of the known Demi-Planes not entirely dissimilar to the Kelrondar, a Plane of Nature.
The Plane Thae'hul is a land of fire and darkness that borders upon specific axis-points to Telath‘s at key points such as the Isula Coronae. This realm was brought into existence by the shattering of the Archon Didis' sanity at Jorel’s instigation. Cast out from Aetheria, Didis was enslaved to the role as Planetar of Thae'hul - of the Lost. Thae'hul is the embodiment of innocence broken, the world shaping itself from an eternal despair brought forth from Didis‘ madness. An incessantly altering world perpetually cast in a chaotic cycle of destruction and rebirth.
History:
The history of the Cyraxian’s is one fraught with contradictions and logical fallacies. Unfortunately, this tends to mean that the viewpoint of the Church of Faith, the Historians of the Aelyrian Kingdom and the Mage Guild are variable. Pieces of truth however held by the three factions do lead towards a balanced supposition.
When the fallen Arch-Archon Jorel set about his plan for the destruction of Aetheria, the personification of Innocence, Didis, was the first casualty of the War. Through her corruption and descent into madness by Jorel’s hand, the Archon Didis was chained to the Demi-Plane of Thae’hul. Her anguish spawning the Plane and the God Meephos in an earth-shattering instant. And with the God of Passion and Rage’s creation, the Cyraxian’s were called forth.
The Aetherian War is but one of legend and rumor, for the Chosen of Ioannes existed upon Telath at this point in time. Rather, the Aeternian Pantheon and the Cyraxian legions descended directly upon Aetheria. It was through the Archonic Phalanx and the races called forth by the Archon’s experiments with the Sands of Life that the first war was fought. And though at a great cost, the Cyraxian’s were repelled. It was here that the People of Phedos and the Children of Cetheron were allowed a mortal life upon the realm of Telath as the Chosen of Ioannes, the Aelyrian’s had been given.
Thwarted, but far from defeated, the Cyraxian’s pursued the Elven people to Telath. Invading through one of the Axis-Points of Thae’hul, Trelore found itself beset by the Aeternian fore. The First Cyraxian War ended only at the defeat at the Red Plains by the Trelorean King Valirhin. But by now the damage was already done - the people of Telath had discovered mortality and the Cyraxian’s had found the world of Aetheria’s disciples.
The Second Cyraxian War, unlike the preceding Cyraxian encounters is one that was fortunately recorded diligently by the Ancient Aelyrian’s. Rather than a direct confrontation, the Cyraxian’s for the third assault upon Aetheria’s faithful were more circumspect. It was here that the races of the Dracons, Minotaur, Rodenti and numerous other living experiments were fashioned.
Launching a simultaneous assault upon the lands of what is now known as the Aelyrian Kingdom. Cyraxian’s themselves launched their attack upon the Aelyrian citizenry, whilst elsewhere the hordes of Minotaurs and Dracons were unleashed upon the Elven and Dwarven colonies.
Through the work of one favored by Aetheria, Diana, the Cyraxian’s were contained and cast out of Telath through a great rift. Severing Thae’hul’s connection from Telath at the Isula Coronae’s Axis. The banishment of the Cyraxian’s engineered the freedom of the Dracon, Rodenti and Minotaur populace and enabled them to determine their own fates within Telath. With the Cyraxian’s finally banished to Thae’hul, Diana Ascended as Queen of Aetheria.
Combat:
By accounts of Imperial History, the average Cyraxian was reputed to be both faster and stronger than an Ancient Aelyrian. It is believed this is an exaggeration however, and it is most probable that this was the resulting effect of 'The Strife of the Blight' upon the Aelyrian‘s psyche. The notion that the Cyraxian’s strength and speed was not abnormally great is given merit by how effective the Archonic Phalanx proved against the Cyraxian’s once Aetherpikes were utilized to combat the ‘Blight‘. Physically capable and showing reasonable proficiency in arms where necessary, Cyraxian methods of warfare were extremely brutal and efficient.
Special Abilities or Weaknesses:
Arcana:
Historically, Cyraxians have shown tremendous destructive capabilities with an affinity for Elementalism and Necromancy. Their ability with Arcana however formidable is believed to be lacking the same refine and Multi-Planar awareness that is associated with the Ancient Aelyrian’s.
The extremely rare Cyraxian encounters since their banishment to Thae’hul have shown than a Cyraxian’s individual ability with arcana is inconsistent. Where one may profess abilities that can rival an Aelyrian’s strength, another might be no more competent in arcana than a newly Unbound Magi.
Shape shifting:
Cyraxian’s have been known to employ methods of physical alteration similar to Dracons and Merfolk. Limitations of the Cyraxian’s ability to change their shape and form still appear to be in compliance with their own mass.
‘The Blight':
Through means that can only be speculated upon, the Cyraxians are able to remove an individual’s ability for discipline and self-control. This forced alteration of a person’s emotional state is believed to be greatest weapon that the Cyraxian’s were able to utilize against the Ancient Aelyrian’s during the Second Cyraxian War. Due to the Ancient Aelyrian‘s being creatures of absolute Order, this affect was particularly devastating as they found themselves dealing with emotions. ‘The Strife of the Blight’ was eventually held in check by the creation of the Aetherpikes by Diana prior to her Ascension.
