Requesting to see Provost Elsdragon (IKeldon, Please)
8 Cryxatum PF XIV
Shield Deakin Tarfuss waited in the outer office of the Provost. He had been debating this for some time now, but had decided that he needed to do this. He needed a change. His uniform was neat and he was frowning. He had spent the morning training the new militia. He had spent the other mornings since his arrival in a similar manner. He thought they were coming along well enough, but he did not find the task satisfying. He wanted to go where he thought he could do some good. Other issues occupied his mind as well, other reasons his stay in Paxia had been less than he might have hoped for.
He sat and waited.

Keldon came back to his office to find Deakin Tarfuss waiting there, as he approached he expected the man to come to attention. If he did so then he would nod his head and make his way into the tent, leaving Tarfuss standing outside for a moment while he secured some documents in his desk. "Come in Deakin," he said, and when Tarfuss entered Keldon would be standing behind his desk glancing over several pieces of paper and placing markers on the map of Paxia which was hanging infront of him.
"How goes training the Falcons Deakin?" he asked with a glint of curiousness in his voice.

Tarfuss' eyebrow rose when he was adressed as Deakin. He was certain the Provost meant Shield Deakin, as he had had no promotions recently that he was aware of. Shrugging it off he proceeded to the question put to him by Provost Elsdragon. "The training is going well, Sir. They're a good bunch, green, but that's why they get trained. They have the right attitude and I believe most of them will do well." He stopped and frowned. There was no easy way to do what he wanted so he just plunged forward.
"Sir, the reason for my visit this afternoon is to request a transfer. I believe that I need more experience before training raw recruits. I don't think that training recruits is the best thing for me to be doing right now, Sir." He knew he could go on, but best just be to the point about it.

Keldon nodded his head, "And where exactly did you want to be transferred Deakin?" he asked taking a seat looking to the man, although he did not give his full rank in his address he did not need to. As one addressed someone by there title, just as Provost Imperatis was addressed as Imperatis as they where, an Imperatis however of Provost level.
OOC: When you talk to a Lt General, or Lt Commander, or Lt Colonel, you say "Yes Colonel, Yes General, Commander, someone requests you on the bridge. Etc, its how the military does it. If there is two parts to a rank there is a main part that is used in general speach. Its not often one would go. "What do you think of this Lieutenant Commander?" as your putting emphasis the fact that they are a junior rank.

OOC: I am aware of this, but because the term Deakin overlaps enlisted and officer ranks, unlike any rank in the US system, or any other rank system currently in use that I'm aware of, I thought it should be different. I doubt if commissioned officers would like to be addressed by the same rank as NCO's. And is Keldon a Provost, or Provost Imperatis?
IC:
"Sir," Tarfuss began, looking forward and expressionless. "I would like to be transferred to Eyvind Avorminger's unit where ever he might be posted, sir" He knew his peers from the Jade had all gone with him, and he thought it would be a good opportunity to see more fighting.

Keldon nodded and leaned back into his chair looking on his desk for a report or two but when he couldn't locate it right away he stopped moving his fingers through the papers. "How goes your current assignment with the Falcon Legion?" he asked looked to Tarfuss. He knew who Eyvind was and knew of the mans character from when the man went through basic training.
OOC: *Nods* Yea, but since theres nothing saying its not the norm and thats the way I was told to do it back when I asked the question its what iv been doing. Infront of the Regent, Alexis, etc and yet to be corrected. So I would think thats the way its done here aswel heh

Tarfuss frowned slightly. "Sir, they're good men, and I don't think that I have the expertise that they need to be properly trained. First: I have no experience in large unit exercises. Second - I myself am only a professional level long swordsman and I have no experience at all in the type of sword that they are outfitted with. I can show them only the most basic moves - so that they, perhaps don't kill themselves in practice, but I can't give them the basic training they need to meet an enemy. The sword they use is slightly curved and has only one edge - a fair different animal than the Imperial Longsword."
