Selena's eyes fluttered open, her blurry mind forgetful of where it was she was laying. This didn't look like the Lily House apartment in Nexus Prime, where was she? A moment of panic came over her as she sat up in the bed she laid in, nearly causing herself to fall off the bed. She looked around carefully, her heart still racing as she immediately thought she had been captured by Dimitri somehow and was hidden away, her hand going to her stomach instantly.

After a few moments of panic, she began to calm down, the memory of the previous brightening coming back to her slowly. She had not been captured, she had journeyed to Paxia to see Keldon and had interrupted him during one of his meetings. While they could have spent the time catching up, Keldon had seen her exhaustion and had set up the bed for her to sleep, getting food for her as well. She had fallen asleep in the bed alone, unsure of where Keldon was. Hopefully he had a bed to sleep in.

She brushed her hair from her face and pushed the blanket away from her, turning so her feet touched the floor. She was well rested and just wanted to speak to Keldon, see where she would go from here.

Keldon was close by outside, although far enough away Selena would not hear what was being said. He was standing with the quartermaster for the encampment. "There is a women in my tent, she is a personal friend." He said giving the man a look to not even consider thinking what he was thinking happened during her time in the tent. "She is someone dear to me, like family. Consider her my heir or wife if you would like a generalization. Her protection is my protection, one could use her to get to me if they so desired, she is to be protected by armed guard at all times. No less then two, no more then four. Is that clear?" Keldon said firmly, and the man nodded and moved away to assemble the womens guard.

He moved back to the tent and tapped the flap firmly so if she was awake she would atleast be decent and was not bathing or something in those regards. He waited for permission to enter, although he smirked outside the tent as one of the ranking officers in the city was waiting for permission to enter his own quarters.

Selena looked around as her feet touched the floor, seeing now that Keldon was nowhere in sight, he must be in some sort of meeting or something like that. She got up from the bed and wavered a bit, she steadied herself before she moved to where her bag was with her clothing and such. She figured she minds well be dressed and ready for when Keldon did return again, her hair in disarray from sleep, her jade eyes still holding a bit of sleepiness to them.

Sitting on top of her bag was the ring that Keldon had given to her the day before right before he had kissed her. The same ring he had given her before they had parted ways in Taralon. It was heavy and beautiful, still too big for her fingers, the chain not with it. Setting it aside for the moment, she picked out one of the dresses from inside her bag, a large and long sleeved pale pink dress, pink slippers to match as well. Her feet were sore and so the slippers helped. She had just finished getting dressed when she heard a tapping on the outside of the tent. "Come in." She called out as she waddled back to the bed, wanting to get off her feet for now. She didn't know if it was Keldon or one of his guards delivering a message from him.

Keldon moved into the tent with a warm smile. "Ah the dead decided to walk did it sleepy head?" He said with a small laugh. He wondered if she would realize it was mid-brightening and he has been gone sometime now. He moved over to where she was and leaned up against a long wooden table with papers all over about the cities plans and took a bite out of an apple that was in a bowl. Chewing he shook his head. "So... where... what took you so long?" He said with a half-assed smile.

Selena smiled as Keldon walked inside the tent, a warm smile on his face. His comment causd her to perk a brow, had she been asleep so long? "I'm sorry, I would have woken up earlier if I had known." She sounded silly and knew it, so she quieted down. She laughed at being called sleepy-head, Keldon was so silly. When Keldon had entered the tent, the sun had shone brightly, showing Selena that it was no longer early morning.

She looked up at him as he leaned against the table, biting into an apple. It took her a moment to realize what exactly his question meant, after realizing what he wanted to know, she bit her lip as she tried to think of what to say. She didn't know that Keldon had arrested Dimitri in Vortex, she hadn't heard of any of that, she didn't even know that Keldon knew about Dimitri. She sighed as she brushed her hair from her face. "I don't know if I can tell you everything Keldon." Her voice was soft and sad, her thoughts on her brother Kaiser, the thought that Dimitri would kill him if Selena told anyone, especially a Provost like Keldon.

"I didn't mean to worry you, really I didn't and I came to find you as soon as I was able to."

Keldon smiled briefly "You didn't worry me, infact I thought you were fine and safe since I left you in Taralon. It was not until..." Keldon paused and started to move to a smaller table with a drawer on the other side of the room and opened it as he finished speaking. "until I received my ring that I knew something was wrong, and this letter from your friend." he said pulling out a very carefully folded sheet of paper, moving towards her he handed it to her.

Secrets :

Arriving back home was more trouble then I ever could have expected. Upon arrival I found that my mother, Diana rest her soul, had been murdered by a bandit. My father's hatred of me grew and he resisted any possibility of us coming to any sort of understanding, so I left again. I have never felt so alone as I did then, blaming myself for my mother's death and wishing the pain would end, I never found out the name of the bandit nor was he brought to justice. I have thought about returning to Nexus Prime after the first tragedy, however fate took me to Natura where I thought I could perhaps see Dhwae again. I found myself lost in the woods of Natura, feeling that I couldn't come to any harm, I proceeded to find my way around.

I stumbled across a large band of men and although I had a bad feelng about them at first, I figured they were not able to hurt me seeing as how the spring came into play. I was met by a charming young man, his name was Yuri was his name I believe however I cannot recall his last name or what his duty was. He escorted me over to where a man in pure white silk sat and introduced me to Dimitri Wladisyaw, the supposed Duke of Vortex and the reason for my suffering. He asked me to sit a while and talk with him and I foolishly ignored the bad feeling I had inside and sat with the monster, he asked me about my family and such I answered his questions honestly, seeing no need to lie or hide anything. He seemed attracted to me and didn't hide it, stroking my chin and things such as that. Feeling uncomfortable I decided to take my leave, that is when things went from normal to horrible.

Dimitri decided that he wished to own my father's land and would take me along as ransom. Running did nothing but bring me pain as I was tackled by a brute of a man, I was roped up like some kind of animal and placed on his horse. (teardrops on the parchment here… making watermarks and slightly blotched ink) I rode back home almost the whole way on Dimitri's horse, enduring his disgusting kisses and various other tortures. He mentioned slavery a few times. However there was a point when I angered him... Dimitri handed me off to his men to have their way with, telling them to keep me awake however possible. I was so frightened but I fought against them as best but they were too strong for me. It was only because Dimitri decided I had been tortured enough that I was taken back onto his horse with my innocence still intact.

Soon we arrived at the farm, but I was placed in a hidden compartment in the wagon. I could hear my father's and brother's voices and could hear all the screaming. I was taken from the wagon to be placed by my brother Kaiser who was already tied up. My father lay on the ground, stabbed to death. All the while I knew it was all my fault, Kaiser wouldn't have been in danger and my father wouldn't be dead if it hadn't been for me.

Even though I believed I had hit an all time low as I lay there at Dimitri's feet, it seemed my humiliation had not ended. I and Kaiser were dragged behind Dimitri into my parents house and up the stairs to the master bedroom. Upon entering the bedroom I knew what lay in store for my brother and I and was terrified. I was thrown hard onto the bed while Kaiser was forced to sit in a hard wooden chair, Dimitri proceeded to torture me and Kaiser with needles and toe crushers. I believe he broke at least one toe as he did that before he….Dimitri raped and tortured myself and Kaiser many times during the course of the night, I don't think I ever felt so much pain before in my whole life, it was maddening. By the time he finally finished, the sun had risen and I was in such pain that I was fading in and out of consciousness. He then told me that although he wanted me as a slave, he was going to release me but take Kaiser with him as his pleasure slave. I would have to go to Vortex if I was going to get him back, he promised me he would kill Kaiser should I tell anyone important or discredit him in public.

Keldon eyes looked to Selena as he moved his hand out and touched her shoulder. "You could of told me that is why you were so concerned about your bother..." he said as he slowly sat down on the bed beside her.

Tears filled Selena's eyes as Keldon handed her the letters first, then the papers in which held her own handwriting. She remembered when Viskyia had sat her down and had her write down what whole situation, such a sad time that had been. Thanks to Hsin's power, she didn't remember the rape, but as she read her words over again, she could feel the pain she had felt when she had wrote it, yet she couldn't really remember all that had happened, thankfully.

She put down the papers, too painful to really read them in detail. nstead turning to the letter from Furloin and Viskyia, she felt a twinge of guilt, she had promised her friend and yet still had gone. She was still afraid to see Visk but decided that she would return to Nexus and find Visk, still not sure what she would tell her. Putting them down quickly, she wiped a tear from her eye and looked at him as he placed his hand on her shoulder, a small smile showed that his touch comforted her a bit. "You don't think I wanted to." She slowly stood to her feet, feeling the need to walk around a bit, her hand resting on her stomach. "Dimitri told me he would kill my brother if I told anyone, you think I would tell you of all people, a Provost?!"

Keldon nodded slowly as he rose aswel. "I understand that, but we did not find your brother. We turned the city inside out from top to bottom, all of his lands where searched and any private lands discovered were also searched." he said as he sat back down. "After getting that letter I went seaching for you Selena... and not alone. Viskya was right to send the letter to me, I went to Vortex in force and arrested Dimitri under my authority and charged him for crimes against the empire. He was stripped of his position of authority and his guards where placed under martial law." he let out a sigh. "He proved his guilt while being escorted back to Paxia for trial, he killed four imperial troops and escaped... and for that I failed you." Keldon said looking down to the floor.

Selena turned and stopped her pacing to look at Keldon who had risen as well. His words almost didn't make sense at first, if he had been in Vortex when she had been there, why hadn't she seen him? Well she had been in hiding after escaping Dimitri's man, her fear keeping her from really wondering around Vortex other then hiding in a new place. Her knees trembled as she sat back down on the bed, her heart beating wildly as she thought about her brother. It had been her fault the whole thing had been brought down upon him and know she didn't even know if he was alive.

"Wait, you went there and arrested him!" She didn't care that Keldon had done it for her or had been looking for her, just the fact that he had gone to Vortex and arrested Dimitri, meant that Dimitri would know that Selena had somehow told someone. What if Dimitri had Kaiser killed for that! "That is why I hadn't told you about Dimitri!" She didn't want to be angry at Keldon because he had done what he had for her and to protect others from the monster. She fell on the bed and felt like sobbing, all hope for her brother now. "Kaiser could be dead now, most likely is dead." Especially since Dimitri had gotten away. "Oh gods, this is my fault, I shouldn't have gone to Viskyia in the first place." She buried her head in the pillow and cried.

Keldon didn't know exactly what to say, or how to speak. But after a brief time he spoke solomly. "He could be alive, if he is caught which is likely and can not prove he is alive he will be executed for treason. He is now wanted by the imperial government and a hefty sum is on his head. If he is dead then so is he, your brother is the only life he has, but perhaps with all the confusion he got free..." he said thinking of something to say but words escaped him. "I couldn't.... I couldn't live with the idea of what he might be doing to you..."

Selena's mind, tired from travel and the strains of her pregnancy, could only think of her brother. The happiness she felt with her older brother, the pain on his face as Kaiser watched her leave home on her own after her banishment. Her mind then returned to the day Dimitri had come into her life, kidnapping her and making her ride with him, the disgusting bastard. Then she saw Dimitri disappearing into the distance with her brother on his horse, leaving her there in pain. She just wanted to see her brother again damnit!

Keldon began speaking again, she wasn't angry at him, she was angry at Dimitri and she personally wanted to murder the bastard, especially if he really did kill her brother. After Selena cried for a bit, she pulled back from the pillow and looked up at him, how could he have hope when the odds were against it, especially since Dimitri had escaped. Her hand reached over and slid over his, squeezing his hand gently, hoping he would look up at her. She hated making people feel bad, especially after he had been trying to save her. "I'm sorry Keldon, I didn't mean to yell at you, I just am scared." She placed her hand on her stomach and sighed. "Worried for me and my children." It was the first time she had mentioned her twins since seeing Keldon, but it was inevitable.

Keldon looked at her belly and then looked to her. "Do you know who's they are?" he asked slowly, wondering if they were by chance his own, or if they were another's.

Selena ran her hand over her stomach and sighed, she could hear it in his voice, he wanted the twins to be his and of course she could understand that. She wanted the twins to be his as well, but she just didn't think they were, but who knew really. She wouldn't allow Dimitri near her children and really it didn't matter if he was the father or not, Keldon was the man she cared for and hopefully would help her raise them.

She reached over with her one hand to clasp his. "I don't know Keldon, really I don't. I just know that they will be coming soon." She was actually scared at the thought of them coming so soon, it was terrifying that she would become a mother and really she didn't want to do it alone. "I'm kind of scared." She admitted.

Keldon moved and wrapped his arms around Selena and gave her a soft kiss on her forehead. He had no clue what to do, or what she would do. Would he be the father? Even if they were not his, he loved the women so much. "What are you going to do Selena? Have you thought where you want to raise them? How your going to do it?" he said slowly holding her.
