Adelyn's Desk
As recently appointed Assistant Aedile, Adelyn felt the need to establish herself on a desk in the same room as Mayal, who was largely in part only connected to the Housing aspects of Paxia, though Adelyn was willing to relieve her of some of her work by helping in any aspect she could.
For now, her desk was rather bare, but Adelyn expected it to be full of notes and contracts soon as materials began to be imported and her plans for the ruined city became realized.

The next morning:
Someone had taken a red crayon and written on some paper: "Gud luk and kungardulashuns. U are the bestest Adelyn Adell evur. Ur seagret admyruhr."
This was on her desk, along with a sardine tin, a box of chocolates and a lanyard made of tiny pastel sea shells.

OOC: 3rd of Ponutis
The next morning after being appointed Assistant Aedile, Adelyn waved good morning to Mayal and everyone already in their offices. She walked over to her desk, only to find a note on her desk with a note scribbled strangely in red crayon with atrocious spelling. The girl smiled when she saw the tin of sardines, instantly recognizing it to be the work of Looie, her favorite Lutran. She took one of the chocolates and ate it, finding it to have almonds inside. Adelyn loved chocolates with almonds. She kindly offered one to Mayal, and then sat down at her desk to begin work.
Her latest idea involved getting the vineyards back up and running for export, and she noted slyly, for some festivities yet to come when Paxia was in a better state of health. The Assistant Aedile would need to find people with a history in wine-making, but also willing to brave the western part of the city. So far no one had expressed any interest directly to her, but she was sure someone would want to restore the west with her.

The third day of Ponutis, Spring, Era I, XIV (pf)
Viskyia walked into the office, finding strangely enough, that Paxia was indeed a small place. One drop of a name, and several fingers had pointed the way. The Jeweler, still dressed in white from head to foot, hovered in the door frame looking around at the desks in place.
"Anyone seen Adelyn Weiss around here? I hear shes a new Aedille....?" She said with an unusual grin. She hoped her tentative friendship was still in place enough that the woman remembered she'd promised to visit in the spring.

Adelyn had barely sat down after receiving the gift from Looie when she noticed a woman cloaked in white enter the office full of desks, a sad sight compared to the offices the young beauty had seen in Mileswick with her own emerald eyes. It did not strike her at first that anyone she knew would come to visit so soon and as such Adelyn did not react to Viskyia's presence by the door. Instead, Mayal pointed towards her desk, smiling kindly at the woman. There had been a sudden increase of visitors interested in Paxia as of late so Mayal was not all that surprised even though Adelyn had been appointed but yesterday as Assistant Aedile.
She turned her head when she noticed Mayal pointing in her general direction. A small blush passed through her face, noting that this was her first day at work, and she was very eager to get something - anything, done. Adelyn looked up and gasped in happy surprise to see her old friend from Paxia coming towards her. Two chairs sat across from her desk to which Adelyn gestured at for Viskyia to sit. Adelyn stood momentarily as was polite to do and waved.
"Viskyia, what a joy to see you here! Though I am sorry you have to see my home completely in ruins, I am glad you have come to Paxia. How are you?" Adelyn said cheerfully, a bright smile on her face.

ooc: This for some reason didn't get subscribed. You should have sent me a nudge. I'm soo sorry it went almost a month!
Viskyia smiled, and wandered further into the room. "I'm doing well. I said I'd come for a visit by Melora and here I am. I brought a friend Amelia, and we thought we'd see how the remodel is going, bring some supplies for folks, and visit Roland. I also had some unfinished business with Keldon Elsdragon, that provost. So.. this is your new office? I cannot believe it. I simply cannot believe it. Your what? An Aedile? Thats great. I brought you something too. Nothing too fancy, just some niceties I wasn't certain you could get ahold of here." Viskyia set the small basket she had in her hands up on the desk. It contained a bottle of floral perfume, two bars of scented soap, a glass jar of lavender scented hair shampoo, skin lotion, a porcupine quill hairbrush, and tooth powder. It wasn't exactly an expensive gift, but just something Viskyia thought Adelyn might consider too luxurious to get for herself in a city incredibly short on supplies.
"So what sort of progress has been done? I hear they are refortifying the city and turning it into a walled fortress? I cannot imagine where the stone's going to be quarried from or all the workers that will take. It sounds like Paxia's rebuild will take decades. But its a real interesting situation... thats for sure. I can't imagine living in a city and helping to rebuild it that is going to be coming up around your very eyes.. one that you get to help plan and voice an opinion on." She said, smiling. Visk took a seat on one of the spare chairs, and made herself comfortable. She intended a nice long visit.

OOC: Just wrapping things up before this is closed!
Viskyia
Adelyn sat back down when her friend did, "Oh, a friend? I can only hope to meet her sometime soon! But yes there sure is a lot to do here and loose ends to tie up despite Paxia lying in ruins which is good as it will help our economy. People still have to buy food and such... any little bit helps, honestly."
A bright smile crossed her face as she looked at the basket of things her friend had brought her. Adelyn was still a woman of course and such pretty gifts meant a lot. Niceties were currently not being sold anywhere nearby and Adelyn felt privileged to have them, "Oh Viskyia, always with the gifts. You're really too kind."
Continuing she spoke rapidly and excitedly, "The wall is being explored, yes... but I'm not really to sure what's happening there. I'm leaving all that to Roland. My latest plan is to go visit the vineyards. Though I've been warned about orcs still there I'm not paying the slightest attention to that. I was in the area there during Immanis and I sure didn't get attacked. You see, wine used to be a big export from Paxia and if I can manage to get the soil there plowed that will most definitely help. For now I am only dealing with people rebuilding houses. I'm afraid there aren't too many resources to be spared to go on erecting new businesses."

With her legs folded up under her on the chair, the half-esh looked more like a child visiting a friend in schola than any sort of serious adult. She'd missed Adelyn even though they hadn't known each other long in Nexus. The assistant Aedile was a strong sort of woman, who took pride and planned carefully. She was exactly the sort Viskyia liked to be around, never the victim always the victor. It felt good just seeing that all was well with her friend, and that like the other Moonstars, she'd rallied around the Paxian Cause and really thrived.
"Amelia's an interesting sort. She's not everyone's cup of tea, for certain, but I think you'd like her. I'll definitely introduce you. Now, are there any farms or foodsources still remaining, or are all of you having to haul in grains and vegetables. I saw cattle here, but not enough to support the city. Meat is so expensive when bread can feed the masses more effectively." The jeweler mused.
She smiled at Adelyn's comments about the gift. "Just because your in the trenches here, doesn't mean you have to smell like them. I thought you'd like a little civilization. There's also some good tea buried at the bottom. Sometimes a girl just has to indulge." The half-esh said with a twinkle of her citrine eyes. It was something she was just recently rediscovering.
Viskyia frowned at Adelyn's disregard of the orcs. "Adelyn... you've met Nydardomond right? He's huge, as mean as they come, and prone to break my arm if we aren't being careful when we spare... and hes only a half-orc. The full blooded ones are terrible. You need to be careful if you go to the vineyards. Do you have any weapons training at all? At least take someone with you who does have some.... a falcon or something. I bet you could restart the vineyard no problem, but do so cautiously. Wine isn't worth your life." Viskyia said, and wondered if she should have a quiet word with Roland to make sure he had someone either shadow Adelyn or make sure her swordwork was up to snuff.
"You can't do anything to help them dead. That much is for sure." Viskyia said gently, and then went on to look thoughtful. "You could almost just import directly to Nexus if you get the winery back up and running. Nexus imports wine constantly and is a huge consumer. Thats a really great idea for a business." Viskyia smiled, pleased at Adelyn's thinking, though worried that her friend was too headstrong to be cautious.
