The Infirmary - Palace of the Crown

Rothchild:

Darkness and frigid cold…

Nothingness…

He felt as if he was floating, drifting toward something or somewhere but he had no frame of reference. Only the darkness pressing in on him. His body ached. He didn’t know why. His head throbbed. His memories were scrambled and he couldn’t make sense of them. A snippet of a memory here and flash or two there but nothing substantial. Certainly not enough to explain what he was doing there. A smile, the roar of rushing water, an autumn colored dress.

He drifted onward, oblivious to what was going on in the outside world.

WHITE:

Callie was working the evening shift in the infirmary. She was looking in on all of her patients as usall. She then came to the Lord Regents room. She looked in on him. Something though had caught her attention. It was as if something was out of place. Then she realized it. "Someone summon Lord Nighthawk. Something is going on with the regent.

After that Callie began her focus on Clara. As she felt the void the spell creates take hold she began to concentrate on the powers concering Telephay.

"Lord Rothchild focus on my voice. Focus on my voice. Use my voice as a way back to us." Callie kept this up until either Lord Nighthawk arrived or Lord Rothchild seemed to come out of it.

Rothchild:

Time slipped by. But he had no idea how much. He'd drifted in and out of consciousness many times. And the darkness gave no hint of the passage of time. The cold bit into his flesh making him shiver uncontrolably. James squeezed his eyes closed as dispair welled up in him.

More memories flashed through his brain. Dusty books in a library, concentration, a blast of wind, darkness, embarassment, a pretty face.

He looked up. Ahead of him, he had no idea how far away was a pinprick of light. He gasped joyfully. And struggled to move toward the light. But it was no use, he drifted at the speed he would drift. There was no way to control it. James stared at the light and smiled.

Callie was doing the best she could at the moment. She feared if she pressed to hard on the mass confusion that Lord Rothchild was most likely going thru she might do more harm then good. As she sat there she felt another presence in the room. "Do not worry child I am on my way." She recognized the voice as that of her instructor Lt. Tassadar. If anyone would be of any help right now he would. But for now she kept up her call. Praying to the three that it was helping his lordship.

As the light grew nearer James felt warmth returning to his frozen limbs. As the warmth seeped slowly into him his limbs began to ache and throb. The light grew and took up most of his field of vision, almost blinding him. He shielded his eyes from the intense light just as he plunged into the blaze.

Suddenly, in his bed, in the infirmary James de Rothchild's eyes opened. His hands covered his eyes as if he was looking at a blinding light. But here in the infirmary there was only muted light to allow their patient to rest in comfort. In a rush all of his memories returned and he screamed out to the one woman he really needed. The one whom he'd been remembering bits and pieces of.

"A L Y!"

In a moment he caught his breath and his composer. He glanced around trying to figure out where he was.

Callie let out a scream. surpised by his lordhips awaking. But before she could respond Lt Tassadar entered the room and took a post near James bed. The face he wore was one Lord Rothchild had seen a hundred time both in PA and with in the palace. The face he wore was that of Alex's most trusted aid.

"Your Lordship." Bolden said trying to draw James attention to him. "Your Lordship she is being summoned as we speak." Though Bolden wondered where she was at this time.

Bolden then summoned all the power he was allowed to have by her Ladyship Diana. HE then let it out in the form of a Telepathic summons for Alyssandra. IF she was indeed insid ethe palace she would hear this and know her beloved had awoke.

"Bo...." James winced as pain washed through his gut . Remembering Bolden's penchant for secrecy he flopped back on his bedding. He looked around and found no sign of Aly for the moment. "Valanthas? What's become of Valanthas? And...the crown. Is the Aethercrown safe?" His hand pressed against his forehead where the Aethercrown had once rested upon his brow. He could still feel the pain. But it was not as terrible as it had been that day.

[Phoenix]

"The crown is...." Suddenly there with out reason the very palace began to shake. Just as the earth stopped moving there came a loud thunder like pop from with in the palace. Bolden knew where it had resenated from and was very worried. Bolden turned to Callie. "Take care of the regent." Bolden then turned back to James. "I will look for Val as soon as I find out what has happened."

After Bolden had left, but almost no sooner than had he disappeared from the view of the marble halls, another figure charged into the room hurriedly. Wearing the Amindolite Armor typical of the Imperial Palace Defense Force, the individual's gleaming breastplate was tempered by a deep blue cape. His sword was unsheathed, and the young man of no more than twenty years, spoke hurriedly and nervously.

"I-I..." he stuttered, "I've been sent b-by C-c-colonel Christessen. W-we n-need to evacuate all imperial dignitaries off the Isle at once. T-there is an airship, the flagship AFS Khatakera, yes, that's the one, I th-think... gathering at the docks." He turned to Imperial Regent James de Rothchild, almost relieved to see that the long-comatose sovereign of the Empire was alive and awake.

"Your Imperial Excellency!" he bowed, suddenly confidence once again in his grasp, bolstered by the presence of leadership about him. "We need to go now. Are you strong enough, my liege? I am Major Donyl."

[Alyssandra]

Alyssandra was indeed within the Palace, and was momentarily startled by the summons from Lt. Tassadar. Her heart leapt in excitement, as she realized that her beloved James had finally regained consciousness.

All thought of protocol left her as she broke into a run towards the infirmary. She had been almost arrived when the Palace shook violently. Aly steadied herself against a nearby wall, then continued to James' side.

She drew near to James' bedside as one of the palace guards finished his statement about evacuating the Palace. A slight frown creased Alyssandra's face for an instant, and she pushed her way to James. She smiled broadly, and wiped a tear from her eye, "James, my beloved...I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see you awake...I love you..." Taking James' hand in hers, she brought it up to her lips and kissed it gently.

The pain in James' head flared just as the room began to shake. James body arched backward in a jerky motion. The searing pain in his brow was almost unbearable. Then suddenly it was gone. Around him a small group of Allerians seemed to be fussing over him. Abruptly Alyssandra broke through the crowd. James forced himself up and pulled her close. His head swam and he felt dizzy.

As his head cleared he realized that a Major from the Palace Defense Force was explaining that we need to evacuate the palace. AFS Khatakera? he wondered. The name sounded familiar but he couldn't put his finger on it.

"I think I can make it Major, with Aly's help that is," he smiled, gently squeezing her hand. "Please lead us to the Khatakera, Major." With a groan James forced himself up. "Now, where are my clothes?" He grinned.
