The Month of Cryxatum, in the Season of Summer,
Era II of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIV Post Fractum,
the Second Era of the Regency of Milo L'Evienne
Approaching the ruins of Narim from the sea (western) side one would have to sail into an artificial harbor built by the orkish Horde during the first season they occupied the city. After securing the Armada navy base, the Horde Master went to securing his seaward flank from possible couterattack.
The former docks of Narim were always bustling with trade and commerce. Merchant vessels came and went, and once would always see boats being held taught and secure by anchors and ropes of all sizes to their moorings along the wood platforms jutting out into the harbor. These same docks now were abandoned and half-burnt from fires under the orc occupation. Many of the planks that made up the dock platforms were now being used for other purposes. One being the "Orkish Toothpick".
The structures that once stood around the dock area were torn down. Wood planks were taken and lashed together several thick and end-to-end to form a single thick and long plank. These planks were then placed out in the artificial harbor now protecting the sea docks at regular intervals creating what looked like a submerged hairbrush with its bristles only visible poking up out of the water. It was a maze that no boat larger than a row-boat could navigate. To make it even more treacherous, the orcs then floated out to each bristle and lashed a single large stone to the top of the plank just below the water line. The stones were not visible to boats or ships outside the harbor but the bristles were. Sometimes, when a large wave would enter the harbor, it would reveal the top of a few of the submerged stones. If the harbor were to ever be drained, one could say that it would look like a field of lolly-pops growing up out of the harbor floor. The orcs adopted a more favorable nickname for these harbor defenses calling them "Orkish Toothpicks" because they say they would eat up any ship that tried to sail over them.
Though secure, taking the sea docks out of commision meant that all ships that wanted to dock at the Narim ruins would have to enter the protected harbor of the Armada docks where an orc garrison was waiting to greet any visitor.
