Scroll [Location] Ire Jorel Spire- Temple

Set in the center of the northern half of the city, the Jorel Spire is the largest spire in the city. It is the home of the Fos Rog and houses the temple of Jorel. The single entrance of the spire leads directly into the temple itself on the ground floor. Only the Shon Zi (Black Marks) and Fos Rog know where the entrances that lead into the caverns are. The simple cave appearance from the outside is deceiving for once you enter through the mouth of the cave you find yourself standing within a large cavern. Large stone pillars that stretch all the way up to the high ceiling line all the walls. Tall, freestanding candleholders made of iron twisted into eerie shapes stand before each pillar. The candlelight reflects off the gray walls and pillars.

On the far wall directly ahead is an alter set upon a stone platform. Bloodstains are evident on the stone top of the altar. Cruel etchings and runes are carved on the altar and platform. On the wall just over the altar is a massive symbol carved into the wall. This is the orkish symbol used to identify Jorel.

It is well known in the city that the Shon Zi are the caretakers for the main temples. Orcs can come here to pray or to ask the Shon Zi to call upon Jorel for special magical powers.

The back corners of the temple are dark where no candlelight pierces. From one of those corners, seemingly from nowhere, comes a robed and hooded figure. His gray robe skirted the ground and almost matched the gray walls perfectly. His hands were hidden under his long sleeves. You just assume this is one of the Shon Zi.

As you stand before the altar of Jorel, the Shon Zi stands by off to the side waiting to either cater to your needs or assist you in prayer.

Secrets :
OOC to assist your roleplaying:

NPC to use at this location:

Name: Shon Zi (The Black Marks)
Race/gender: Unknown
Appearance: Little is known of the Shon Zi except that they are elder and wise. They always wear gray robes.
Demeanor: All Shon Zi are secretive and take extreme measures to ensure that their identity is kept secret. Though religious leaders, they act like royalty as their presence commands a room. Because of their secretive nature, you assume they have many enemies.

Name: Fos Rog (Clansmen Guard)- Government Enforcers
Race/gender: Orc, male
Appearance: Live within the Jorel Spire. Man all government and tax offices as clerks. Black or dark brown skin. Very muscular but average height. Wear a red sash across their bodies to ID them as city government employees. Torsos are bare and each wears a clan tattoo on their chest that is easily recognizable to all orcs. Carry a curved shortshort on their belts at all times.
Demeanor: Don’t allow any to question them. Those that do are immediately reported to authorities or personally dispatched immediately no matter how slight the infraction. One of the three main orc clans of Ire and are treated with great respect despite their lack of mercy.

Brightening 1 Cycle 1 in the Month of Imperos, in the Season of Autumn, Era II of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIV Post Fractum

Although Ral had just finished his long trip here and was eager to go to the beer tent and kick back a few of the finest angry brews, prayer at his one and only temple was necessary first. He still followed the original laws that said one must pray at a spire upon arrival in the city. But that was'nt the reason he'd came. Since the rest of the Empire frowned upon Jorel, he had seen no temples in his honor since he'd left Orckon eras ago. Ral was extremely eager to get back in touch with his Lord Jorel. Although he still worshipped him on his journey of the Empire, he was eager to worship him in one of his temple the way he always had.

Even though Ral had been away for a while, he still remembered exactly were the temple was (despite it large size) and as he caught sight of the temple he already felt his spirits raise. "It been too long Lord Jorel," Ral thought to himself as he entered the spire. Upon entering the spire he first caught sight of the oh so familiar huge stone pillars that went all the way to the ceiling. The darkness of the room slightly light by candlelight seemed to sooth Ral.

As he looked straight Ral gazed upon the alter. The bloodstains upon the stone and the massive symbol of Jorel carved into the wall behind it made Ral crack a smile. He was glad to be back in Orckon were he could worship his lord in the proper way that the Jorel intended. Coming out of his gaze Ral walked up to the alter. Since it had been quite some time since he'd been hear, Ral wanted one of the Shon Zi to assist him in his prayers and something else. Ral glanced over to a dark corner of the room were the Shon Zi stood and waited, then he motioned for the Shon Zi to come over and assist him. After prayer Ral wanted to give an offering to his lord, but he needed to speak with the Shon Zi first to see what would be an appropriate offering, perhaps a human, or maybe an elf.

There began a low hum then words in orkish that Ral could probably not ascertain as to the meaning. The lingo being chanted was old and meaningless except to the religiously learned. The shadows and low light of the temple made it difficult to really make out the hooded figure that was the Shon Zi standing before him but Ral had to look up at him as the religious leader was quite tall. Finally the Shon Zi spoke.

"You want to please Jorel your Lord? He is only pleased with blood and sacrifice by his followers. You seem to spark His interest and so it is demanded that you bring a shara here for sacrifice upon His alter."

The Shon Zi pointed at the bloodstained alter where so many other sacrificial beings had been offered.

"Do this before the end of the next cycle and you will be bestowed with Jorel's gifts. Do this not and YOU will become the sacrifice that must be made."

It was not something that one would have expected less from dealing with Jorel. Either bring him an offering or become the offering yourself. It is only made sweeter by the hope that completing this task will bring Ral "gifts" from a higher power. The city being filled with low-life's one would think this would be easy but finding a human in this city or anywhere near Orckon makes things alot harder.

"He has heard your prayers, now do his bidding!" the Shon Zi barked. His words trailed off into an echo down the cavernous temple walls.

Upon hearing the Shon Zi and the request from Jorel, Ral stopped and thought for a moment. The statement that the Shon Zi gave Ral did'nt surprise him at all. He knew that his lord was demanding and he was up to the task in front of him, but he only hoped he could find a human inside the walls of Orckon. It was'nt likely at all that one would be stupid enough to walk around Orckon, but Ral knew that shara were constantly being sold in the trade district for whatever purpose one wants them for. "Ral return wid a shara dat pleases Jorel," and with that Ral bowwed slightly at the altar, then turned and headed out to find his lord a shara.

Afternoon 1 Cycle 1 in the Month of Imperos, in the Season of Autumn, Era II of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIV Post Fractum

Ral had suceeded in finding a shara, it may have cost him a little bit, but it was to please Jorel so it did'nt matter. Ral entered the Spire holding the shara by the back of the neck with the bound shara in front of him. He could feel the shara tremble as they entered the temple, for the man probably knew of his fate yet to come. Still and yet the shara had'nt said a word or made any attempts of escaping, but then again where would he be able to go in a sealed fortress filled with orcs. His best bet was to be quite and do as he was told, even though this would still lead to his death.

Walking up to the alter Ral with his shara, Ral was quite excited to make his sacrifice to Jorel, for he knew this would please his god. It had been quite some time since Ral had been able to honor him in a way in this degree. He was eager to see what gifts Jorel would bestow upon him for obeying and pleasing him. As they stood in front of the alter Ral kicked the back of the shara's legs forcing him to the ground, "Ju not worthy to stand before dis alter filthy shara." Ral stood there and waited for the Shon Zi to approach him and help him do the sacrifice, for Ral looked around the room for him, but the Shon Zi was nowhere in sight. So Ral just staid put and waited for that moment.

From within the shadows of the temple a low voice was heard.

"Good, good. A child of Jorel has obeyed his Lord. This will no doubt please HIM."

From a dimly lit corner came the figure of the Shon Zi.

"Place the shara upon the alter. Take this." the Shon Zi said approaching Ral and holding a dagger.

The dagger was a bright silver with a black handle with a single red gem in the hilt. The blade was nearly 12 inches and slightly curved.

"Use the dagger of Jorel to let the blood from this shara's encasement. Let the red flow once again."

The Shon Zi stood back after he handed Ral the dagger. He intended for Ral personally to do the honors. The slave man began to whimper as he knew time was neigh.

As the Shon Zi stepped out of a darkened corner of the room and begun to spoke, Ral listened to his praise and instructions. After he was told to place the shara upon the alter, Ral did just that. He looked down upon the whimpering shara and grabbed him by the back of the neck and stood him up on his feet. Once upon his feet Ral turned the shara around with his back facing the alter and his front facing Ral. It was easy to sense the fear coming from the shara. His face was engulfed in terror and his body shook uncontrollably. "It jur time shara," Ral said as he grabbed the man by the arms and threw him upon the alter.

The Shon Zi approched Ral closer and said, "take this," as he handed Ral a dagger that was obviously used for only sacrifical purposes. It was about a foot long, had a silver and black handle with a red gem embedded in the hilt. It was obvious to Ral that the Shon Zi did'nt want to sacrifice the shara, but he wanted Ral to perform the sacrifice. This thought was clarified by his next instructions, telling Ral to "let the red flow". Without hesitation Ral took the dagger in both hands and stood over the terrified shara. The shara must've been to scared to move,(aside from the constant shaking) because he made no attempts to get up from the alter. The shara knew his fate. As Ral glared into the shara's eye's for one last time, Ral said,"Dis Ral's gift to lat Lord Jorel," as he swiftly sunk the dagger into the heart of the shara.

Screams or agony poured from the shara as Ral pushed the blade deeper and deeper into his chest. Finally the shara had moved. His hands made a weak attempt to pull the dagger out of his chest, but his efforts were in vain, because Ral intended on leaving it there until there was no life left in the shara. Blood poured out of the deep hole in the shara's chest all over the alter as well as Ral. After a few moments (which must've felt like a lifetime to the shara) there was finally no life left in the shara, still blood drained out onto the alter. Once Ral was sure the man was dead he begun to pull the dagger out of the mans chest. His hands were frozen stiff around the daggers blade in his last attempt to save himself. Ral shook the blade free and gazed down upon his gift to Jorel. After a moment of prayer he looked up at the Shon Zi, which seemed quite pleased and awaited further instructions.

There was a rumble that seemed to reverberate throughout the temple. Was the city under attack? No. It was the power of Jorel that shook the very foundation of this solid stone temple. So much so that dust fell from cracks in the walls and ceiling and the torches that lit the room shook where it seemed like their fires would go out.

The Shon Zi, who was standing next to Ral just a moment ago had disappeared. Suddenly his figure reappeared and seemed to be floating in front of Ral opposite of the alter from where Ral was standing in front of the alter. As the figure floated, his arms reached down toward the victim and plunged into the body's chest cavity. Blood spurted up through the wound and it appeared to be getting bigger as the Shon Zi sank his hands deeper into the body.

Suddenly with a quick motion the Shon Zi pulled out his hands from the body and leaned over the alter to grab Ral with both hands (one hand holding the left side of ral's head and the other hand on the right side). The blood was smeared on Ral's head and the Shon Zi began to chant.

Soon, the priest let go of Ral's head and floated backward into the darkness. It appeared as though he flew right into the wall behind the alter! A quiet moment began. There was no sound in the whole temple, not ever a water drop splash. Blood oozed down from Ral's head. Then the strangeness began to overtake Ral.

From deep within Ral there was an anger that began to swell. It started right in his heart and radiated from there until his whole body was overtaken by an anger as if someone had wronged him so severely that all Ral wanted to do was kill and/or hurt someone or something. This urge was so strong that Ral could not focus his own mind to try understanding what was happening. The adrenaline was so thick in his veins that he could feel it coursing throughout his body. The bloody corpse that lay upon the alter made Ral feel like the body itself was the source of this anger. All Ral wanted to do was tear this corpse apart for doing this to him and finally release this hatred swelling within him.

** Ral begins to tear apart the corpse and mangle the body **

Standing there in fornt of the alter after saying his prayer, Ral waited for something, anything to happen. Soon right after this thought the entire temple begun to shake and rattle, as if it were under siege. And then all of a sudden the Shon Zi disappeared. Only to reappear floating in front of Ral behind the alter. The Shon Zi's arms suddenly plunged into the dead sacrifices wounds, seemingly to try and tear the wound bigger. After a quick moment the Shon Zi's hands left the body and almost instantly grabbed Ral head. He begun to chant for a short while. Once he was finished chanting the Shon Zi seemed to disappear again and it looked as if he floated into the wall behind the alter.

Blood from the sacrfice poured down from Ral head and Ral begun to feel........strange. From deep within his body he felt a anger begin to brew. At first only a slight anger, then the anger grew larger and larger. At first Ral felt the anger from deep within his heart, but soon the anger overtook his whole body. He felt like he did when his first mob and his father was slain before him, as if he were cruelly wronged. Then once Ral caught sight of the shara that lay on the table before him, his anger mulitplied an it was all concentrated on the shara. Ral wanted to rip the shara limb from limb, bone from bone. This urge was so strong that Ral could'nt put his focus on anything else at all, he knew because had been tring.....at first that is. Now the anger was so great he did'nt want to focus on anything but the shara that lay before him.

Suddenly it was like someone had given Ral a barrel of adrenaline to chug ontop of all that anger. It was so strong that Ral could literally feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins. Finally Ral could hold back no longer, it was time for the shara to pay for "wronging" him. Ral lunged at the dead shara that lay upon the table, grabbing the open wound and ripping the skin clean off the shara's muscles and bones. Once the skin was completely torn off the body, Ral grabbed the shara's shoulders and ripped his arms clean off, the same with the legs. Once he caught sight of the ribs Ral began taring them off one by one and when he made it to the last rib, Ral bit it in half, bone and all and chewed it until it was ready to swallow. Once Ral had sucessfully tore off the ribs, all of the shara organ fell onto the alter. Catching sight of the heart, Ral picked it up and ripped off the veins and arteries connecting it to what was left of the body. He simplily held it in his hand and gazed at it as if it were the life of his anger.

Ral stood there, blood-soaked before the alter. He was completely unable to think of anything else as the blood ran down his clothes, face, and limbs. Suddenly, Ral's mind just went black as if he had just passed out...
