There is one place in Orckon that many hope to never see from a non-spectator point-of-view and that place is the “Pit”. It is a large stone quarry pit with stadium-like seating that line the edges giving a bird’s-eye view of the action below. The pit itself is not so spectacular but what goes on within the steep sided walls is another story. Orcs come here to sit and watch the punishments awarded to wrongdoers being carried out. Both the guilty and the innocent step into the pit but only one side is allowed to exit.

Fights to the death for religious treason or law breaking are cheered for by the spectators, which make this the most exciting judicial punishment ever seen in any culture. Bets made on whom will prevail, simple personal dislikes, and unfair accusations, usually for religious reasons, make up the usual circumstances persons are put in the pit.

There is always something going on in the Pit and today is no different. As one makes his way to his seat to watch, the action below will quickly capture your attention. Money is being exchanged, fans of one victim or the other are cheering on the blood-letting, and angry brew is gulped down by the mug from the vendors catering to the crowds in the stands.

The victims waiting their turn in the pit are led down a tunnel at opposite sides of the pit to a simple door. There they wait in the dark with their guard until the door is swung open and they are shoved out onto the pit floor. What waits for some from the opposite door is sometimes a surprise and that only heightens the excitement of the crowd as well as the victim. Depending on what the victim is in the pit for, is what determines who or what the victim will face in combat.

The Ash Pargijakun, shamens that live within the shamen caves or one of their followers will referee the matches in the Pit. Only one living winner will leave the pit once they step foot onto the dirt floor regardless if the winner was the offender or not. All results of the matches fought here are final and clear any legal charges against the winner. May Jorel have mercy on all within the Pit.

They wear typical shamen robes with hoods that keep their faces hid in public. Their necromancer magic and fanatic beliefs make them very scary. Demeanor: Though assigned to the clans as government spies, they are nowhere close to loyal toward the government. Each of the seven have their own goals to grab power in Ire, which sometimes brings them in conflict with each other. They strategically murder in the name of religion to gain their objectives.
