[Location] Ire Goblin Village- Thief Guild
From the Goblin Village: Zigzagging through the mounds that make up the resident’s housing, there is a clearing along the east wall with a large structure carved out of stone. This massive building has a gothic look about it with various goblin figures and symbols carved into the stone walls. The structure’s back is facing the main outer wall of the city and large iron reinforced wood doors fill the arch that makes up the main entrance. A large crowd is gathered in front of this structure. This must be the Thief Guild you have heard being talked about around the city. The crowds of unfortunates that loiter here are all after the same thing… work.
It is strange that a guild, especially a thief one, would have so much attention drawn to it. Word on the street says that the guild hires individuals to carry out operation outside the city such as assassinations and to stir insurgency in other cities. It is also widely known that the city government also uses these thieves to carry out their own agendas. Surely there is more to this guild than meets the eye. Many try to gain entry into the guild due to the rumors of good pay and possibly the chance to join the guild. This is usually enough to keep the unfortunates squatting outside the guild waiting for really long periods of time for that one chance that may or may not come some day. The squatters are not being ignored, the goblins inside are watching for anyone that might stand out in the crowd or that would fit a specific mission that the guild has planned. It would make sense that the goblins just wouldn’t let all these hordes of people loiter in their guild hall. From time to time, a goblin would come out of the guild through the large doors at the front entrance and stand at the top of the stairs looking out over the crowd. The goblin would point at the one(s) that interest them and hurry them into the guild hall slamming the door behind them. Some that are taken inside are never seen coming out, even by the crowd that is always hanging out in front of the structure. This would indicate that there is indeed more to this guild than meets the eye. Only those that are rejected ever come back out the way they came. Many of them simply huddle back into the crowd, others wander off in disgrace or depression.
Those that are taken inside enter into the main hall of the building where you can see all the way to the opposite wall. A small table with a candleholder sits along the far wall with a large tapestry hanging on the wall above. Rooms line each side of the hall all the way down. Thick brown wood doors hide what is inside each of the rooms. To the right and left there are stairwells that lead to the upper floors.
Before you can get too far past the main entrance though, a short goblin stops you. With his shrill voice, the goblin snaps at you.
“ Ehh, whud you do here waiting outside err home? You look for work or just here to beg?”
