(Ire) The Orkish City of Ire
The only true orkish city within the boundaries of the Aelyrian Empire. It was created just prior to the Khardran War and was the only surviving orc fortress of that war. The Aelyrians named the city “Ire” after the halfling named Pelgrim Ire, who slayed the last orc warlord of the Orkish Assembly. The city was built in the foothills south of the Khardran Mountains, not far from the present-day city of Narim in the Sheria Provence. The edge of the Mauvewood Forest is to the west of the city and the coast is within a short journey to the southwest. Flat, fertile land that stretches south and east of Ire beckons human settlers dangerously close. The city site was an outcropping of rocks that resembled ruins of a single mountain that had eroded away and left towering spires of sheer-faced rock standing in the middle of the rocky debris field. There were several small spires but three main spires in the center, which towered above all the rest. The main spires were cone-shaped with their points jutting up like huge spears into the sky. The area surrounding the city was stripped down into a barren wasteland. No trees, animals, or even fertile lands exist within a 300-meter radius around the city. No roads lead directly to Ire but not far away, the Sheria trade routes pass Ire on the west, east, and south. Further north following the Khardran Mountains, is the Charisma Pass where travelers cross from Prime to Enamoria provences. Only a trail leads from the North gate out and up into the Khardran Mountains.
