-Have You Ever Seen the Rain?-[Closed, GF]
Time Stamp: Start of Autumn
The figure stumbled slightly, the light drizzle that was falling plastering her dirty, riped clothes against her form. The beautiful golden eyes were clouded and she seemed to be in somewhat of a daze. She stopped for a moment, and held her hands out, staring at her palms in disbelief. They were covered with a mosiac of emerald green scales, and the talons that tipped the long fingers were of a rich blue colour. The hands, perfectly capable of ripping apart a person if the female put her mind to it were shaking violently. Letting the hands fall, the horned head fell, until her snout was almost touching her chest as she thought back to what had brought her to Prime.
She hated this city. Or did she? It had been hard to differentiate between the things she had hated before and the over whealming hate she had felt for everything in the last few months, since she had been cursed. She had been here before hadn't she? Yes, she remembered now, some memories she had buried deep of her old life were returning, like old friends. The draconess had hated this town, because to her, before she had been changed into a real elf, this town had represented death and hypocrisy to her. A friend of hers had been killed unjustly, protecting the very justice that had spit on his corpse. A frown crossed her features, pulling at the edges of her snout as her eyes opened again. So why had she come here. of all places, from the insipid flowery elf place she had fled too? Obviously her madness had some reason for bringing her here. Perhaps to tell the regeants and officals here about the consipiracy she believed she had been a victim of.
Other than that she could think of no reason why she would return to this filthy city, unless of course, in her misery, to keep herself from lashing out at everything and everyone she came into contact with, she had returned here, because here she could immerse herself in a lifestyle that was the lowest she could get, in an attempt to balance the inner pain she had felt since that efateful winter night she had gone to sleep a beatuiful creature shaped by dragons and demons and awoken in the form of the beastly, ugly elves. However, to her delight, and shock, she had once more reverted to her draconic form, something she had given up on entirely. She had her claws, her tail, not to mention her beautiful colours, and of course the wings. She could feel them, the heavy, yet graceful weight from her shoulders, the rain slucing down the leathery membrances like a caress.
Leaning back, she closed her eyes and let the rain pour down her face, washing her filthy clothes and body, and washing her soul as well. It was then, that she wept silently, letting the tears mingle with the rain. Kour'el had been granted her life back and her tears were of joy.

The rain had caught Eyvind off guard. He knew he shouldn't be here in Old Prime looking for some female company without something to cover him from the rain. He had seen the clouds in the sky, but he said to himself he wouldn't care about omens that day. Things went wrong, the Gods were punishing him for sure. There was a small store with a balcony where he could rest a bit before running to the next cover, without being hit by the rain, it wasn't the best cover in the world, luckily the wind wasn't strong enough to make him feel cold. Although he was a Vagaran from the harsh Northern Shores near Trident Isle Eyvind was never fond of rain, he prefered snow.
Still the rain wasn't that pleasent for a full armored man, first the chainmail could get rusty, second his weat clothes would become heavier and add the weight of the chainmail to that and you won't like the idea even if you love the rain. Shield Daekin Pennington would punish him for sure if any of his equipment got damaged. Eyvind checked the sword's scabard, everything was fine, the leather was of good quality and the oil would protect the blade from any drop of water that could find a way inside.
It was time for another sprint, there should be another balcony some 30 metres down the street. The ground was full of mud! His boots looked terrible! He had to clean them as soon as he arrived at the barracks, before the mud got dry or it would be a pain to clean them. Avoiding a puddle Eyvind kept running, he was doing fine when he saw a figure standing there in the rain. "Poor bastard, he is probably lost." Eyvind thought. As he approached the figure Eyvind started noticing some features, such as wings and a tail. What was that? Eyvind started to slow down has be got closer to the person, until he stoped. "Serale! Better you find some cover or you may get a cold! Follow me, there is a balcony about 15 metres from where we are." he said, it was impossible to ran now, he was too close to whatever that was, the best thing to do was to act as normal as possible.

The draconess was motionless as her mind raced from one thing to another. What would she do now? Obviously she had to send word to her family that she was alive still and she had been made whole once more. She desperatly wanted to return home to see her little ones. It had been so long since she had ran away, when her children had failed to recognize their mother's elven body. But how would she get there? The horse she had been using, well she wasn't sure where it was, if it was in Silrosia, or somewhere else. besides that, she didn't want to ride a horse now that she was a dracon again, likely the silly animal would spook from her wings or tail dragging along it's sides. She had bad experiences with horses. Of course, Kour'el could fly but a sliver of fear remained in her heart about this miracle.
Just because she had her body back didn't mean anything. If the gods were continuing to play a cruel joke on her, they could have easily returned her body and left behind her abilities, leaving her even more crippled than when she had been an elf. Living forever with the means to fly but unable to. Shivers ran down her spine at the thought and her eyes flew open as she began to panic. She had yet to feel any dracons around her, perhaps it was true, perhaps she was a dracon without the Call, flight or skin dancing, a neutered dracon good for little but dying when the first angry mob happened upon her. Delicately, as if she was made of glass, she reached a hand behind her back and felt the left wing joint with her finger tips. Everything felt normal, it didn't seem weakened or emaciated.
Sighing, she closed her eyes and concentrated on feeling her wings, trying to remember what she hadn't been able to do for months now. The draconess simply wanted to unfurl her wings. to feel them moving at a thought once more. They responded to her, the leathery wings making a wet swishing sound as they spread to their considerable twelve foot span, albeit the motion felt slightly strange to her now. Turning her head from side to side, studying her wings for any signs of weakness, the draconess frowned slightly upon seeing the branded spots of her wings. So, my old war wounds remain the same. A grim smile flickered across her face before the voice intruded on her thoughts.
Hissing slightly, berating herself for not paying mroe attention, the draconess whirled around, her wings closing tightly behind her to see who was talking to her. A softskin, one of those pale northern humans by the look of it, and a big one at that. His kind was even more colourless and drab then the rest of his ilk with that white skin of theirs. About the only thing he had of itnerest was his height and the shock of red hair. Having had hair until she woke up this morning, the draconess pitied him. Hair was nothing short of an irritation, getting tangled and matted and full of little bugs if not cared for properly. Kour'el had oftened pondered cutting it all off and going bald instead of dealing with a living haystack on her head, however she had yet to see a bald elf, or a bald female soft skin for that matter, so in order to blend in, she had kept the rats nest of hair she had been cursed with.
The draconess backed a few steps away from the big soft skin warily, her golden eyes darting around, looking to see if he had any friends with him. While she didn't doubt she could kill him if she had too, Kour wasn't sure if she was up to that yet. For one, she was missing her weapons, and she was still shaky from being in her true form. Her tail twitched from side to side in agitation and finally she blurted out the first thing that came to mind. "I like the rain." Smooth...

When the creature opened its wings Eyvind became aware of the possible danger he was facing. It was a dracon for sure. He had heard tales about dracons and their strange behaviour towards humans and other non-scaled races. From soul eating to livestock theft he had heard almost everything. In his village dracon were considered winged daemons who came out their caves just to steal a picoris or a sheep and the owner of it from time to time. Eyvind knew they weren't exactly daemons for he had seen some here in Alleria Prime, but still he never talked to one nor would he trust one easily who knew what this dracon was up to?
The dracon then turned to him, the eyes seemed that they could mesmerize him, avoiding them Eyvind steped back almost at the same time the dracon did. Horns, three of them! Eyvind didn't like horns at all, he hated when he had to hold a female picoris so his mother could collect the milk, the horns were always a problem because the damn animal always tried to use them on someone or something, either be him or being the bucket where the milk was. The colour of the dracon was astonishing! Emerald green, the same colour of some gems a rich man he had seen earlier that day possessed. The movement of the tail could only show Eyvind how eager the dracon was, he just hoped it was eager to kill him. He could call for help, but it would never come in time, so he decided to stay still and see what the dracon would do. It answered, this was the last thing the man was waiting for.
"You...you may like the rain but it can be quite harmful, you can get a cold, it is better if you go find a cover from it." the dracon was speaking, maybe it wasn't that dangerous, slowly Eyvind started to move around it, in a great circle, so he could get to the other side of the strange creature and therefore closer to the Military District Gates, it would be a long run if he had to ask for help there, and he would probably be killed in the process if he tried to go there right now, so he moved slowly.
"Come with me, I know the perfect place, it is just about a dozen metres from here, follow me." he tried a smile.

rain first starts with a drop,A small smooth drop of water accompanied by thousands more. Genner had always loved the rain it was a part of her,she could not help going out for a walk to come back soaked. This day however was different she had gone out as she had done a lot of times before but on her journy though the city she came across a track and as any teenage girl desided to follow it.It lead though ally ways up streets until it came to a complite stop. she looked around for more or i sign that it went in a different direction but there was nothing she was about to go back when she heard a man speak"Come with me, I know the perfect place, it is just about a dozen metres from here, follow me."she followed the voice until she came to a corner, she slowly being careful not to be heard looked round the corner to see the man standing in front of a beast. the only thing she could do was scream.

The scream scared Eyvind, then that wasn't the only creature around, there was at least one other nearby attacking someone! It was an ambush and Eyvind was the prey, or at least he had become when he almost stepped on the draconess. Her claws were terrifying! Eyvind was sure that not even his chainmail could give him much protection against such weaponry, but still he wouldn't fall prey without a good fight. Drawing his sword he shouted: "Stay away from me or I will thrust you with my sword! And tell whoever is with you to stop!"
Eyvind didn't have his shield so he held his sword two-handed, left foot pointing forward, right foot in a ninety degree angle pointing to his right. Knees bent and the hilt at the height of his chest, ready to slash horizontally from right to left or vertically up and down, he could also thrust if he brought his sword's tip down.
"Stay away from me or you will die!" he shouted, he knew the odds weren't good, but still a threat was always a threat and perhaps with a firm voice and a loud shout his adversary could think him more powerful than he really was.

The reptilian eyes narrowed in suspision. This soft skin was obviously not right in the head, or he thought she was a fool. Whatever nefarious reason he had for trying to lure her from out in the open, and her experience and imagination gave her a few ideas of what he wanted from her, he would fail. She was no naive young dracon to be lead away by the pied piper of Prime. She eased away from him, her head cocked slightly, listening for the sounds of his back up. She doubted he would be fool enough to try and do anything with her without any. When people came "calling" on her, it usually involved large groups and pitchforks.
Wrapping her thin arms around her slightly emaciated chest, the draconess shook her head violently. Her voice, which was several ranges higher than it normally was, and included a note of hysteria that made Kour'el wince, she babbled at the human. "No... no no no, I am fine, the rain will do me good, wash me clean. I need it. So leave me alone and be on your way like a good little softskin. Got to the crown or whatever and drink yourself into a stupor and forget about me and whatever plans you have. I won't leave from this spot." Oh how the mighty had fallen. There would have been a time where she would have slit the man's throat by now, leaving his twitching corpse on the street while she moved away to enjoy the rain in peice. Of course, there was also a time, where she would have believed his offer of shelter and followed him willingly to whatever death he wanted for her. Then a screamed cut through the air, shattering what little peace she had left.
So it had began.
Her head whipped towards the sound, and she shrank away from the human in front of her, expecting the blows to come now as he collected whatever trophy would get him his bounty. And he was screaming at her now, expect Kour'el didn't catch the gist of it, too busy wondering if she could flee or not. The last few months had been unkind too her, hadn't they? Her stomach was clenching painfully and she was shaking slightly. She doubted she could survive a fight in her current state. With dark humour, she found it rather ironic that she was weaker now then she had ever been during her time spent as an elf.
Her lips curled up in a snarl, showcasing her sharp fangs and she hissed at the man with the sword, her golden eyes hard. "Whatever you are planning will fail. You won't be adding my ears to your collection, bounty hunter. Leave now and take your distraction with you or I will disembowel you here and now and let the homeless eat and piss on you where you fall."

Genner was just standing there she coulden't move or even speak all she could do was stand there and watch. She was looking at the man who was fighting like a valiant hero and as for the beast it looked hurt but that was strange because the man had not hit it yet.
This was strange the beast was hesating it looked like it didnt want to hurt the man but it had no say in the matter and was being forced to fight. As for the man he looked scared and looked as though he was exspecting the end, As genner stood and watched it dawned on her that she was the reason they started fighting so she had to stop it.
she moved her gaze away from the pair fighting, turned away and ran she only hoped one thing that she would get back before someone got hurt

OOC: I have no choice but to join the thread to giggle at me legions a little heh.
Keldon stood off in the distance a little, wearing a robe cover with a hood he watched as the young recruit attempted to challenge a Dracon. It brought a grin to his face, he knew how that would work. He once challenged Raliric to hand to hand combat once when he was in his form. It hurt... seriously, Raliric ended up cutting him several times and those were not on purpose.
Under the hood Keldon heard the rain lay its bombardment against the fabric and once in awhile felt it run down from the top of his head to his shoulder where the feeling quickly disappeared. Underneath the rest of the robe was his plaitmail armor re-enforced and sturdy. From what he could see the recruit was not in danger, but perhaps was going to soon learn a very important life's lesson. Do not argue with something much larger then yourself unless you know you can beat it... or atleast run faster then it.

"I am no bounty hunter nor I want to add your ears to my collection! I just want to follow my path without being attack by you and by your hidden companion!"
The Draconess wasn't that smart if she thought she could convince Eyvind that he wasn't a prey to some vile scheme of her. He knew what Dracons used to do with humans, he had heard to stories and he wasn't up to see his finger bones being used as a collar nor his muscles being eaten by some foul beast.
The rain was trickling from Eyvind's hair, he could feel the tension in the air as each raindrop fell on his shoulders, any minute now the Draconess or her accomplice could attack, maybe the both of them. Eyvind would wait for the last moment to start running, so he could catch them on surprise, he hoped it worked out well.

OoC: Kour'el is such a bitch sometimes =)
A harsh bark of laughter escaped the emaciated female. Kour'el was laughing at the softskin. She knew better to trust his kind, particularily when they started brandishing weapons at her. However this one was little mroe than a babe, and likely untrained or low. She recognized the by the book stance new fighters had, before the adopted their own style. She had once done the same thing he had done, in this very city, ages ago. Her current weakened state and lack of weapons, besides her natural talons and teeth may be giving the pup a false sense of confidence however, something Kour'el could use to her advantage. Even at her worst, she was worth at least five untrained soft skin whelps, considering she had draconic pride and ferocity on her side.
She laughed at him again and shook her head, her hands coming to rest insolently on her hips. "Don't try too turn the tables pup. I am more than a match for you at any given time and that weapon won't save you. You may not want my ears but perhaps a thumb, or a horn. I hear the wings are a popular choice to rip from a diantar. Planing on making a kite sometime soon boy?" She hissed at him as she began to pace across the alleyway. Back and forth she went a few times before she stopped and bared her fangs at the soft skin once more. In a quiet, deadly tone, the pupils of her eyes narrowed to almost nothingness, she ordered him once more. "Take your crony and back away. this is your last warning soft skin."
