Tev prepares for the second round. He checks his gear, then takes his usual stance. He looks at the trees and other flora near the target in order to gauge the wind. If the wind is too light to notice, he will wet a finger and hold it up in the air.
With that done he nocks an arrow, aims for the center of the bullseye and then compensates for both wind and distance.
Steady.
He releases the arrow, watching it's flight.

Synrei observed the opening shots from the people before him. He made mental notes of how they fired, what was successful and what wasn't. He was quite accustomed to the feel of the shortbow he'd designed and been trained with, and especially now he was not doubting his abilities.
This time Synrei took aim with the bow itself almost horizontal. Being that his bow had two parallel strings made for firing two arrows simultaneously, any single arrow shot made in the vertical position would be slightly off and had to be compensated for. Syn did not want to waste his concentration on such things, now especially that the stakes were higher.
Drawing back one arrow on the right, now top, string, Synrei locked his gray eyes onto the target set before him. He finished inhaling as finished drawing back. He held his breath for a few seconds, steadying himself. He began to exhale, and halfway through he let the arrow fly.

Lingus was disappointed by the result of his first round. He had hoped to score much higher, and another round like that could see him dumped out of the competition. As he approached his mark for the second round he drove all of these thoughts from his mind.
Focus, he said to himself, and went through the same routine as before. He felt the initial nervousness of contest leave his body.
His bow came up, nocked with the first arrow. It was drawn with a smooth motion, held steady for a second, and the loosed. The arrow sped over the one hundred foot length. The one time hunter used that flight to judge the rest, and the two other shots came in measured sucession.
He waited for his score to be counted, although he was quiet sure of what it was.

The vysstichi was comfortable with his shot today, and knew he was on target. All he had to do now was just stay focused mentally and always check his form. From his performance in the first round, he was confident he could pull it off again, using the same strategy and method.
By isolating himself in his mind, he was not open to being distracted, Focus was key, and all he could see was the target and his bow, now with a notched arrow. Taking a slow breath, he slowed his heart rate, and tuned into the beating of his heart. Slowing time in his mind, he could concentrate on the key moment that he fired, and making sure everything was perfect. The bullseye was his goal, and it was the only part of the target he saw. Once prepared, he fired his shots in between his heart beats, accounting for the arc which he was now accustomed to with his form and bow.
Doing this in three successions, he was sure not to goto fast and just pace himself, along with not paying attention to others. He kept his mind on his own performance.

Tev scores a Bull bottom left.
Synrei scores a Bull as well, Middle bottom.
Lingus scores two Bulls and a blue, for a score of 35.
Demant scores 3 bulls a perfect score. As the score is posted the crowd roared with excitement. This is the kind of game’s they came to see. Demant’s name was added to the third round chart.

An arrogant smirk appeared on his face, happy with his own performance. Walking away from his range, he went to take a seat and relax until the third round. Walking around, he looked for some refreshments and relief from the sun.

Syn does not take the time to savor his success for he felt that doing so would detract from his focus. He'd watched the arrow nail the bull, but as soon as it had hit he had drawn another arrow and was taking aim.
This time he had no additions or modifications to his strategy, he was perfectly confident this time around. Syn took two deep breath's to steady himself and his aim. On the third exhale, once again with the bow held horzontally, he fired.

Tev readies himself for the next shot. Assuming his stance, he nocks the arrow, aims, compensates for the wind and his previous error, then releases the arrow.
After he checks the result, Tev sets up again, nocks his arrow, aims, compensates for wind and previous error, then releases the arrow.

Synrei’s second shot scores another bull, again middle bottom.
Tev’s second and third shot both score bulls, each shot was closer to the middle then the last.

Without missing a beat, Syn drew and notched the third and final arrow as soon as he saw his second shot hit the target dead center.
A decade of lonesome travells through the wilds of the empire had taught Syn how to fucus all of his thoughts and energies on a single target. He most definitely would not have been able to survive if he had not picked up that skill. Now, Syn thought of nothing else but of his bow, the notced arrow and the target. The bow was an extension of himself and his will, and his will was to drive the third arrow into a bull. Slowly inhaling he drew back the arrow and as he exhaled he let go.

OOC: Blues are worth 5 or 10? Or bulls 10 or 15?
IC: Sighing Syn turns around to face one of the judges and says, "Is that it? Am I done for now?"

OOC: A white is worth 1 point, a blue is worth 5, and a bull is worth 15.
IC: The Judge commented on your good score. Yes Archer, you get three shots, you have scored two bulls and a blue, a very honorable score I must add. Right know you are tied with Lingus, but all the scores have not come in yet, but I'm sure a score of 35 gives you a very good chance to advance to the next round. We have tagets setup back the hall if you would like to practice for the next round while you wait for the other scores to be posted.

"Right...", Syn said barely audibly as he turned back and went to his firing position. If indeed he was still in the running he would conserver his focus and strength. For now he would simply observe the competition.
