Unarmed Combat “Demant-vs-Lingus
Lingus enters the ring and begins stretching. He’s hoping the injury that has left him this crutch won’t hinder his fighting. He has worked very hard preparing and the need for the crutch is all but gone.

Demant was all too familiar with Lingus' injury. Synrei, his fellow ranger, was a close acquaintance of his, and he heard stories of what happened with the dracon known as Tyreal. It was actually a pretty amusing story. It happened awhile ago, and now reminants of the injury and the hateful feelings between Lingus of the dracon were still apparent. He figured the physical and mental wounds would have healed, but he was wrong. Now he would use it to his advantage. On top of that, he had grown his own distaste for Lingus earlier in the day. A small match of words went down, and the dark elf couldn't remember, but it was probably himself who started the fight. Whatever the case was, he now had the chance to release his pent up aggression.
Entering the ring he did a quick stretch of his arms and legs. He was ready to focus in on his leg. Lingus made a big mistake joining the competition, and luck would have it, he had a ruthless vysstichi opponent. All he needed was the referees signal...

The Judge quickly goes over the rules once more. Remember men knocked out or thrown from the ring you lose! He does a glance to both of you as to assume you understand he then shouts BEGIN
Lingus does not hesitate at all and comes at you. He leg doesn’t seem to hinder him at all as he comes at you with a lighting fast uppercut.

Impressed at how well the leg had healed, he turned to the side to dodge the uppercut, preparing to reawaken the injury upon his leg. Turning out of the way of the uppercut, he does a quick kick to the previously injured leg, following with a short jab with his fist.

The Uppercut just misses. Lingus had planted his good leg and that was the only one you could hit with the kick, which scored a hit but had little effect. The jab was blocked and countered. The counter was a over the top blow that scored and sent you to the ground.
Lingus was able to get all his weight behind the blow and as you soon realized, it had great force.
He then bounces a couple of times waiting for you to get up. He’s about four paces from your current position.

ooc Can I take over now? I'm sorry about being away for so long, but the internet connections in Mongolia aren't ideal for playing Alleria on. Aplologies all around, and I'l make up for it by beating you silly Demant ;-)

OOC: Heheheh we will see
IC: A surprising counter now placed him on the floor with Lingus right near him, possibly ready to attack again. However, he waited on the floor, not moving, just watching. On the floor he waited for Lingus to make his next move.

Lingus was still being nervous about his leg. In any of the previous tournaments he had competed in, he would have been on his opponent in a flash, trying to get the upper hand. But now he had to fight smart, and if that required a bit more caution than usual, so be it.
So instead of flinging himself bodily on Demant, he came forward slowly, leading with his uninjured right leg and with his arms low. He was looking to grab whatever limb his opponent let stray into his reach.

As Lingus approached, he watched his slow movements, pretty sure he would see any attack he made at him. That was just what he wanted however. Making a weak kick at him, he hoped either to push him back on the defensive, or to have him grab it.
If Lingus grabbed the foot, he would be ready to pull his foot back in an instant. After pulling Lingus foward, he would have an open shot at some vital spot of the body, either the head or sides of the abdomen, and he would kick with his left leg with all of his force to one of those spot. Seeing as Lingus was leading with his uninjured leg, he wouldn't be able to reach the injured one.

Demant put the bait out there. It was a weak kick and he was hoping Lingus would take it.
On the other hand Lingus instead of lunging on his opponent carefully probed the opponent looking for a edge.
Was the edge he was looking for, Demant’s foot that was now exposed.

Lingus attempted to block the weak kick with the outside of his left arm. His body position made it the one best suited to the block. In the instant he decided that the kick would land his right hand came flashing across, trying to grab the foot at the ankle. If he was successful in his grab, he would then lean back and stretch the limb out, hopefully bringing himself outside Demants reach, and opening his opponent up.
He didn't see this as a risky strategy, as his torso and head should not be exposed at any time.

OOC: This was my maneuver from the previous post, I still want to execute it.

As Lingus grabbed the Foot and began to pull back, Demant began to pull forward. It was a momentary test of strength; neither of the men expected the resistance. It only lasted a few seconds before Lingus lost his grip and flew backwards. He back peddled two to three steps before landing on his backside.

Lingus landed in a heap on the floor, but didn't intend to wait there for very long. The suprise of the fall had all but disappeared by the time he got his right leg under him, and thrust himself up into a standing position.
As soon as he regained his feet, he turned to face Demant. He had a narrow escape, and was going to wait for the other to come to his feet before trying anything else.

Demant proceeded to stand up and gain a balanced position near the center of the ring. The vysticchi now took a defensive stance, preferring to counter Lingus for now. Until he could get an edge, he wouldn't attack, only parry.
