Unarmed Combat “Kensoya –vs- Synrei”
The two opponents stand ready in the Blue ring. The judge enters and recaps the rules. [b] Ok competitors the rules are simple. Get knocked out of the ring you lose, get knocked out, you lose. Are there any questions?
Syn’s just laughs and states No questions
OOC: I’ll be mod’ing Synrei as a NPC until he returns.

Synrei nods at the judge. Before he'd left the Hall, the Master Ranger Corran had shown him a little about unarmed combat.
Syn moved further into the ring, and closer to his oppenent. His right foot was two feet in front his left, which was angled off to the side. His knees were bent to provide flexibility and power. His right foot was pointed towards his oppenent, while his left, like his body, was angled a little less than ninety degrees to the side. His right arm was extended in front of him with his fist a foot in front of his chin. In was there for defense and less so offense, but he held it tensed and rigid so that it wouldn't be used against him. His left arm was close to his body, covering several pressure points on his chest, but it was also there for heavy offense.
Syn bobbed up and down on the balls of his toes to get his blood going, and then waited for his oppenent to acknowledge the beginning of the fight.

Light laughter was the girl's only acknowledgement of her opponent. It wasn't mocking - t'wasn't in her nature to stoop that low, but nerves and excitement could hardly still her tongue. Her laughter faded into a sly smile as she watched her opponent bounce idly on his toes. She moved in her own right, a rhythmic step that sent her lithe weight forward, then back, then forward, then back - always moving, never stopping.. t'was the slow urchins that wandered around with one hand - a fact Kenasoya was well aware of, t'was why she still had two.
Formally, the girl would be considered untrained by the military or other staunch and starched guidelines. But no street girl ever made it to her age without learning to hold her own. Tossing her dark braid down the length of her back Kenasoya lifted her hands and curled calloused hands, baring knuckles that had seen their fair share of scrapes and bruises. Leading with her left hand, the sly smile that had become the passing edge of her laughter had yet to fade - indeed, she still wore it even as her opponent advanced.
OOC: Ok, first - the funny star word up there is s-c-r-a-p-e-s. There appear to be language controls on the boards now.. and they're malfunctioning. Second, I didn't know about this thread, sorry for the delay. I'll try and be prompt from now on.

OOC: No problem Kenasoya, I figured as much
IC: OK let the games begin, shouted the Judge.

Syn did not ball his hands into fist outright. From far off it looked so, but he had not curled the second knuckles on his fingers. If he needed to he could quickly form a full fist, and in any matter it would help snap his punches when trying to be quick.
Syn quickly settled into a fighting stance, and slowly began to close the distance between him and his oppenent. His right leg was two feet in front of the left, and both knees were bent. His left hand was close to his chest, level with his diaphram. His right arm was extended but curled slightly so that his hand was at jaw level but about a foot in front. To him it was a balance of speed and power, in to other that had yet to be proven.
When Syn was within striking range, he made a low direct roundhouse kick with his right leg at Kenasoya's left knee. As he did so he lowered his left arm to try and defend from a counter attack on the oppposite side, and pulled in his right arm a liitle to defend his head.

It was good that he wasn't too much bigger then she was. While Kenasoya relied absolutely on her speed - she didn't much look forward to the eventual blow that would penetrate her guard. Light eyes flicked over the dark elf in curious examination as he advanced - what would he lead with? The lead hand.. the back leg? It could be anything.. elves were always so tricky. With a wry smirk she lifted both her hands in a direct mimic of her competitor's stance and waited, confident that the wiley elf would approach with a leading attack.
.. and then it came ..
A kick! Gods - it was a kick! Sliding backward as the blow came into her field of vision, Kenasoya attempted to lift her left leg in order to at least minimize the blow - should she fail to complete dodge it. What a coward! Bastard son of a dwarf! The woman inhaled an audible gasp as the kick came streaking toward her knee, to take such a blow sure on would inevitably be crippling!
The girl's next reaction was entirely dependant on the success of her avoidance - Kenasoya was made of tough stuff, but a broken knee would be tough to say the least. If she was dexterous enough to avoid or at least lessen the immediate thread of the elven kick, a vicious right hand jab was prepared to immediately lash out at her cowardly opponent. Should she not be so lucky, the coming counter attack would be foreshadowed by the instinctive lowering of her torso as she flat charged the elf, attempting to shoulder ram him into the ground. Elven heritage might be good for dexterity.. but it was hell on weight.

Syn’s closed the gap and struck, with deadly aim the kick headed toward its intended target. Luckily for Kenasoya she realized the danger and raised her leg in the nick of time and the kick missed completely.
Next came her counter a stinging right jab that struck Syn’s blocking left arm.
The first contact had ended and the little knowledge given didn’t help either opponent.

Ah ya bastard.. she thought as her punch bounced uselessly off the elf's shoulder. Quickly she sought to reverse her momentum from the retreat that had let her avoid the kick to a driving push of her back leg that would drive the strength of her next punch, a wicked follow up cross with her back hand - straight toward the side of his perfectly sculpted elven face. Truth be told, Kenasoya had no fondness for elves - they were always so uppity and highbrow... With any luck the blow would both surprise him and stagger that elven calm - usually she got the first strike precisely because of the shock of her attack, people usually didn't expect her to be an aggressive fighter - but this elf might prove different.. this whole situation was different, far from the street scuffles that she came from.

Kenasoya followed up with a heavy punch. Syn had been hoping she would follow with some kind of punch, but he'd planned the counter for a straight one.
Instead Syn chose to roll with the punch, and while he was doing this he brought both of his arms up to try and deflect the punch away from his head into the air. While moving, Syn brought up his right knee, and then extended it. in a low thrust kick at Kenasoya's supporting leg. Cheap it was, but he was hoping she wouldn't be expecting the same attack twice.

Synrei’s defense move was the right choice, but he speed wasn’t. Kenasoya’s blow scores a direct hit.
The Half elf hits the ground.

The girl's jaw was set as she watched her opponent crash to the ground. She'd seen the kick come a second time. He was trying to injure her! 'You meephian worm!' cursed the girl, glancing down as if to make sure her knee was still intact. Furious, she backed away as the Vysstichi held his place on the ground. Tossing her head in indignation, the girl's dark braid split the air like a whips lash, fueled by her anger. In no time at all her cheeks, despite her dark coloring, flushed a deep red as she exhaled loudly through her mouth and waited for her opponent to regain his feet.

OOC: I really don't like stepping in, but it has been awhile.
IC: And get up he did. He regained his stance with lighting swiftness.
Within moments he was on her full force.
It was a one two punch that came out of nowhere, both striking her in the face. Kenasoya’s head snapped to one side just to have it knocked back to the other side.
He stepped back just to plant his foot, and as the now dazed woman was still in front of him, he attempted a round house kick to her chest.

The dark elf's speed was astounding. As he stood, Kenasoya took several astonished steps backward, lifting her hands defensively. But his assault.. t'was vicious. The girl was overwhelmed, frantically she backpedaled in a futile attempt to avoid his strike - but to no avail.
The first punch slammed against the left side of her face, producing a spectacular display of lights in her field of vision. The strike drove her stumbling step further backward and her hands dropped as she staggered, shaking her head in a futile attempt to gather herself. Her foot, along with the lightning display in her head, had just settled when the second punch crashed into the right side of her face.
She wasn't anywhere near prepared for it.
Flashes of light exploded in her vision with renewed intensity - had she not been staggering on her feet, she might have marveled at their beauty. The world narrowed to a pinpoint as clouds of darkness intruded on her vision. Vaguely, she was aware of the dark-elf standing in front of her - but it didn't concern her in the least. How she managed to stand the Fates only knew, but stand she did. With her hands raised weakly, she maintained her balance as she searched desperately for her grip on reality. Any movement the elf made, save letting Kenasoya recover, would be met with only the weakest of defenses as the world sought to clear itself in her deep emerald eyes.

OOC: Thanks again Rogue. I'm very sorry, but my time hasn't been my own lately. I'll wait for Rogue to mod the last of my actions (the roundhouse kick) and then continue posting.
