Kalendryas - Winter - X Era
Stationed far behind the Ranger hall were the stables. The two long buildings had single stalls for all the ranger's mounts plus several empty ones for visitors. Each stall was spacious and had water running through it so that the horses could drink. Each stall was also equipped with a window so that the horses could see out into the world around them. The first room in each building was a storage room. In these rooms the Rangers kept the different kinds of saddles, bridles, girths, crops, spurs, blankets and everything else needed with horses. However everything kept in these rooms were Communal ranger property, individual possessions were kept in the lockers next to the horses stall.

Behind the two stables was a large storage facility where the rangers kept hay and oats. And in front of the stables several hitching posts were conveniently located so rangers could saddle, groom, and wash their mounts.

Around the stables were two large riding rings and several small ones. The rings were pact dirt that was often soaked with water to keep the dirt from drying then flying up under the horses’ feet into the riders' eyes. All the way around the ring was a wooden fence with gates on either end. Sitting outside each rind were the materials to set up obstacles for the horses to go around or jump over.

Taurus, Gemini's human father waited outside the stables. The broad silver haired man stood next to his 17 hand stallion. Intisary was an Arabian bay with impeccable breeding and he was Taurus's pride and joy. Grooming Intisary's shining coat with a soft bristle brush Taurus waited for ranger trainees to arrive. He had informed the whole hall several days earlier that he was beginning a basic horsemanship class that was open to all rangers.

[Selegon Merith]

Selegon walked behind the Ranger hall, and looked around he seen the horses that were there. Selegon was not much of a horse lover, but they do come in handy in a tight spot. They were fast, strong and very good animals. Selegon would like to know how to ride on one of these great warrior animals. Selegon seen Max over by the stable. Selegon apporched him and greeted him. 'Hello, Im Selegon Merith. Who are you?' Selegon kinda moved his eyes around looking for the person who was instructing this. Selegon really did not know where he or she was or even if there was one for that matter. He just figured that might have been one is all.

[Max]

Max walked briskly towards the stable behind the ranger halls. He had heard about the horsemanship lessons from a few friends and he thought he would be a good thing to have as a ranger.

Max looked round to see if that annoying cat was following again because he thought a cat would not be good at the horsemanship lesson. Luckily he had not seen it all day and he was in a happy mood.

Max saw the stable and a few large rings of wood and so smaller ones. As he came to one he vaulted one and as he landed he realised it was a bad idea, his feet hit the soft watery mud and his feet sunk in to it with a loud squelch. ‘Feth’ he inwardly said. He lifted his feet and ducked back out of the ring and tried to shake the mud of his boots but it was not coming off.

As Max looked up he saw a broad silver haired man looking at him, then Max grin stupidly “Sorry” he said looking at his feet then back to the man.

“I’m here for the horsemanship lessons. Is this the right place?”

Taurus

Taurus looked down at the trainees who stood before him. They seemed like a nice enough lot, but he got the distinct impression that he was in for a troublesome couple of cycles. This was the first beginner horsemanship class he had thought in a long while, and he wasn't sure how he was going to make the adjustment. Gauging that these were all the trainees coming, at least for now, he said, "Serale. nau zat ve are all here ve vill be learning about horses. Have you ever had instruction about horses or you have ever ridden the horse before?" As he said this in his mild accent he lead Max and Selegon towards some benches indicated they should sit down. Then he tethered his horse and pushed on his hindquarters to turn him so that the trainees could see his whole side.
