Aelyria Contributor Program
Volunteer Vacancy Postings

The Contributor Program is the group of special contributors and staff organizers that helps moderate our game, our web site, our creative projects, and our community. Aelyria will always consider applications for any position offered in the Contributor Program. However, from time to time, we will specifically solicit applications for certain "vacancies" or needs. In collaborating with the necessary teams, each application will receive a prompt response within three to seven days. For more information about how the application process works, please confer the Contributor Program page's specific position posting in detail, since the process differs slightly from position to position. Of course, if you would like to apply for any position in the program, please do not hesitate to apply for that post at any time.

ABOUT THIS FORUM

The "Be a Mod" forum is the Aelyria Community's one-stop shop for every volunteer vacancy posting in our Contributor Program. As vacancies in specific roles and positions become available, a brief posting will be made in this forum identifying the particulars of the role and providing links to any relevant documentation, descriptions, and applications. If you qualify and are interested in applying for a position, please follow the application instructions on the individual posting of the position you would like to pursue. Feel free to reply to any vacancy posting if you would like to discuss the particulars of the position; all community members are encouraged to exchange views and information about available positions and urged to support one another to apply.

The postings in this forum are divided into "Open" postings, and "Closed" postings. You will notice the "Open" postings at the top of the forums listing, and a divider between open and closed postings. Community members are free to apply for any of the open vacancies; however, closed postings are no longer available, most likely because those positions were already filled. Threads that are closed are automatically considered closed postings, whereas those that remain open for replies are typically still available.

REQUIREMENTS

Each position in the Contributor Program has specific requirements, duties, roles, and responsibilities. Please be sure to review each vacancy posting, and any links from the vacancy posting's position title to the position description page, carefully so that you understand any prerequisites and expectations of candidates pursuing a volunteer or contributor role in Aelyria. Please also note that if selected, Contributors are expected to enforce Game rules and regulations wherever applicable.

PROCESSING

Generally, it takes between three (3) and seven (7) days after an application has been submitted for a response from the Contributor Program's management teams to be returned. During that interim, please do not hesitate to amend your application if you feel that would be helpful, or submit any questions, comments, or feedback within your application itself, so that the responses can be as effective as possible.

We know that our Contributors give of themselves, not because of any treasure or glory (well, maybe the glory!), but instead because they are deeply committed to making Aelyria a great place for great people. However, we love recognizing our contributors with small tokens that demonstrate the community's appreciation for the time that they volunteer, the imaginative energies that they help foster, and the positive and nurturing attitudes that they bring to our site.

Paritcipation in the Contributor Program is often considered a reward in and of itself, given the high degree of autonomy each of the system and site teams enjoy. Giving back to Aelyria and spreading the joy of gaming, creativity, and service to fellow users makes Aelyria possible. Even so, contributors enjoy certain benefits and rewards in the form of privileges that recognize their contributions to Aelyria by volunteering time to spend playing on our site with our users. Note that these benefits apply only to contributor staff accounts while active and in good standing, and not to their player or character accounts unless otherwise stated.

Assistant Game Masters, Creative Scholars, and Player Advisors

CUSTOM AVATARS & TITLES
All Contributors can use Custom Avatars and Custom Titles.

STAFF USERNAMES
Contributor usernames and ranks are colorized and stand out.

INCREASED PM QUOTA
Level 1 Contributors can store up to 500 private messages.

EXTRACURRICULAR CREDIT
For Students, participation in Aelyria's Contributor Program often qualifies for Creative, Activity, or Service hours for the National Honor Society and the International Baccalaureate Program. For more information, please submit a Help Desk ticket and a member of our Management Teams can help you in filling out paperwork that your school district or program board requires.

INTERNSHIPS
For career-minded people, participation in Aelyria's Contributor Program is often considered an internship or apprenticeship in the content management and web industry fields. We would be happy to provide you with a Letter of Recommendation for your time spent as a Contributor in good standing.

Game Masters, Creative Producers, and Player Strategists

LEVEL 1 INHERITANCE
All rewards and recognition of Level 1 Contributors.

CUSTOM PROFILES
Design and develop your staff account profile page.

USER ALBUMS
Store design graphics in a personal album.

BLOGS
Maintain and publish an Aelyria Blog.

INCREASED PM QUOTA
Level 2 Contributors can store up to 1,000 private messages.

PERSONAL STICKY THREADS
Ability to individually flag threads to the top of the thread list.

STYLES
Selection of styles and site skins.

MODERATION POWERS
Ability to moderate a content area on the site.

LEVEL 3 CONTRIBUTORS
Game Directors, Creative Directors, Player Directors

LEVEL 2 INHERITANCE
All rewards and recognition of Level 2 Contributors.

INFINITE GALLERY SPACE
Unlimited web and storage space at the Aelyria Gallery.

LIMITLESS USER ALBUMS
Unlimited disk space to store personal images.

SUPERMODERATION POWERS
Ability to moderate every content area on the site.

FREE SUBSCRIPTION TIME
Earn free time in the Circle of Companions program.

LEVEL 4 CONTRIBUTORS
Aelyria Leaders

LEVEL 3 INHERITANCE

ADMINISTRATION POWERS
Ability to administer the site and operate the system.

FREE LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION
One player character shall enjoy a free lifetime subscription.

ABOUT COMPANIONS
Contributor Subscribers

The Circle of Companions, Aelyria's premium subscription program, typically offers many more exclusive features than the Contributor Program does in terms of recognition and rewards, so it is not uncommon for a contributor to sometimes purchase Companionship for his or her staff account. In the event that a contributor account is also a subscriber, you can make sure that your contributor account still displays itself as a contributor (username color, staff titles, etc.) by accessing the User CP -> Group Memberships page.
