Narim Recruitment Office [Self Moderated]

One of the side corridors led from the Great Hall to the east of the fortress. Strands of colored light seeped into the hallway through high glass stained windows. At night or on short winter brightenings the hall of the great fortress were lit by oil lamps that threw flickering shadows through the corridors, giving it an eerie look.

The hall looked well cleaned and radiated with military efficiency despite the cracks in the dark grey walls. On the end of the hall there were two doors, both made out of dark, heavy wood, reinforced with steel bars. On the door was a bronze sign, worn with age but the marks on it still readable.

Recruitment Offices

Inside, and straight ahead sat a man, not very old looking and with an organized desk. The area around it contained a few chairs, a fire and a few pictures. A neatly stacked pile of parchment sat at the corner accompanied with two quills and a good number of inkwells. The room had a big window stained glass which looked out on the Fortress Gates.

The recruitment officer was thin, yet muscular, with narrowed eyes and a stern gaze. He wore the uniform of a person who was in the city of Narim’s Military forces. A crisp, clean overall look adorned this man as dark brown eyes and neatly kept matching hair.

When a potential recruit enters, he folds his hands together and puts down whatever he was previously occupied with to turn his attention fully on them. Those brown eyes alit with a rekindled delight in the prospect of another recruit to their forces as he cleared his throat and prepared to address the most recent person to pass through that big wooden door. The man’s speech was nice, but still contained the military clip of a soldier whose service has been long.

Outfits:

Infantry:
The core force of the Narimite Military, the Infantry is the basic and main fighting body of the Army.

The following training will be required for this outfit:

• Longsword + Shield (Levels will vary, high advancement is encouraged
• Physical Training
• Optional: Military Tatics

Heavy Infantry:
Supplementing the Infantry, the Heavy Infantry specializes in the weilding of larger weapons to stop an enemy dead in their tracks.

The following training will be required for this outfit:

• Broadsword/Hammer/Flail/Axe + Shield
• Physical Training
• Optional: Military Tatics

Vanguard:
The front lines of the advancing army, the Vanguard is responsible for holding ground and using their own maneuvers to keep an enemy at bay.

• Spear + Shield OR Halberd
• Phyiscal Training
• Vanguard Tatics

Combat Medic:
Responsible for providing medical attention to troops, combat medics focus on healing as a priority instead of fighting.

• Optional: Studying Thautamurgy on your own accord.

War Engineer:
The thinkers, weaponsmiths, constructors and tatical inventors of any Army, the War Engineer is responsible for construction rather than combat.

Gryphon Rider:
The arial support behind the army, these select elite patrol the skies and provide air to ground cover over the army. They are trained scouts and archers, capable of bonding with their intelligent winged mounts.

• Gryphon Training
• Archery
• Optional: (Mandatory at higher ranks) Arial Tatics

Intelligence:
The eyes and ears of the Narimite Military, the Intelligence division of the army scout areas to help better forumlate plans of attack. They are quick witted souls that know how to blend in and move like the wind.

• Weapon of Choice: Shortsword/ Dagger/ Longknife/ Shortbow
• Military Tatics
• Camouflage
• Survival
• Optional: Horseback riding

Opo walked into the recruitment office rather anxiously, and waited for the man to address him, before addressing him back. "Serale, I'm Opo Joke Sundi, and yes I'm very interested in joining the the Narim Military."

The Recruitment Officer smiled at the possibly new recruit. "Ah yes, a new recruit. Well, you should fill out these forms first." The man said, shoving a piece of parchement and a quill and ink over the desk towards the half-elf.

Opo handed the recruitment officer the quill and ink well, and after reviewing his forms he slid them over the table, and waited.

The recruitment officer waited patiently for the half-elf to complete the forms. When handed to him the human's eyes scanned over the form. "Ah yes, a Ranger." He said delighted. "You could do fine in the scouts, but first you will need to go through basic training. Please report at the Armory, Quartermaster and Trainingcenter. You can place you belongings in the Barracks. To do so you will need a Military Identification." before the man was done talking his hands had disappeared into a drawer and took out a blank identification paper. Quickly he copied down everything he needed to and signed the identification.

"Welcome to the Narim Military Recruit Sundi. You will be paid 50 crowns a week and I advise you to read through the codex for proper ways of saluting and the like. Any questions?" The human said while hading over the ID before he folded his hands and waited to see if the new recruit had anything to ask.

Opo took the ID papers from the recruitment officer "Thank you sir, I don't have any questions." He smiled at the recruitment officer and headed off to the Armory, Quarter Master, and Training Center.

The recruitment officer raised his eyebrows in surprise when he was handed the crumpled form. It wasn't an everyday sight to see a form not immediatly turned in. Nevertheless the man took the paper from Brion and looked over it for a split second. His eyes narrowed and he stroked his chin, seemingly thinking about somehing. "Well sir, it seems you have been accused of quite some things. To us the most important is the charge of assaulting Gate Guards. I'm sure you have an excellent reason for this, or otherwise I cannot take you in." The officer didn't look sorry for Brion at all, but he was obviously trying.

Everything Theodrin saw on his way to the recruitment office impressed him greatly, and he could tell there was no better place to begin his military career then in Narim.

"Serale, Citizen, and welcome to the Forces of Narim. Are you interested in joining the military?"

"Yes, I am," replied Theodrin confidently and excitedly. "I'm interested in Narim's heavy Cavalry, and would like nothing more to be a rider for Narim," he added.

Once he had been cleared for entrance into the city of Narim, Sssk had moved straight for the fortress. He watched the old structure and wondered why all mamals were so burned on looking all high and mighty. He walked up to the massive doors and pulled one open.

Inside the structure was no less impressive, but Sssk was not here to look at the marvels of mamal architecture. He moved forwards, read and then turned into the hallways on his left. At the end, he found another set of doors. Recruitment he read. Sssk opened the doors and stepped in.

There, straight ahead of him, he found a mamal, sitting behind his comfy little desk. Sssk grinned as the man put aside his work and looked at him. Sssk walked forward, placing his hands on the table and said "Ssserale, sssir. Yesss, I am indeed here to join your Forsssesss. I sssupossse that I would do bessst asss a ssscout of sssome sssort."

The man behind the desk smiled kindly at the lizardmen as he pushed a form towards him. "All in time recruit," He said with a wink. "You'll have to go through basic training first. After that we'll see what you are most fit for."

The man offered the Raptorian a quill and shoved an inkpot over the desk towards the creature, signalling him to fill out the form.
