When she started working at the Aediles office, she had purchased a house. It was to there that she took Char after work.

The house was a small one. It was not one which an elven lady would be proud of, that much was certain. However, it was well furnished with many pretty things and maintained well. Alicia worked hard to keep the house looking nice, as it was the only time in her life she had ever owned anything that was, totally, hers.

There were only three rooms in the house. The one which they entered served as a living area. There were brightly coloured cushions and throws everywhere, as Alicia attempted to brighten the place up. The other rooms were her bedroom and a kitchen area. The house was, to say the least, basic. But she had worked hard in here, on her time off and before the attack.

The room that they walked into was, therefore, clean and well lit. The furniture was mismatched, although all covered with pretty throws and so on. This was the room of a woman who was trying hard to make a home.

Most of the time I live at the Barracks she said, as they walked in, sounding apologetic. She looked around, wondering what Char thought of this place, her first real home. She saw it in the way she imagined his eyes did. Shabby. She shook her head, knowing that he was not so concerned with appearance as all that.

I.. I have a bottle of wine, and I'll get us something to eat. Are you hungry? she asked, not quite managing to make eye contact with him now that they were in the house iteself. Where was this going to go? What was she doing? Still, she knew that she was doing the right thing, and so she flung her cloak over a chair by the door.

Some things about Alicia had changed, that much was certain. This was exemplified by the Alyssan guard uniform hanging up behind the door and the sword that lay casually on the table in the living room. Her hands were beginning to develop callouses where she trained each morning. But essentially, she was the same woman.

She turned to look at Char, her dark eyes watching him. She still wore the ring on a necklace around her neck, still held herself as an elven lady would.

Char... I... it's good to see you again she had been planning on something else, she was sure. But, inconveniantly, the truth just came out instead.

Char followed closely behind Alicia as he entered her cosy house, the furniture was mismatched but it was her home and she wasn’t well off like his family back home. Her house seemed in order and with the intention to brighten the place up. He didn’t mind, it was her own place she had worked for it earning it for herself.

The elf didn’t listen to trying to defend the shabbiness of her home, his silver eyes watched as her slim body moved forwards. His ears did twitch at the sound of food and drink.

‘If you have any that would be most welcome.’

His voice seemed slightly distracted as he looked about the room once more spotting Alyssan guard uniform hanging up behind the door. Alicia had changed slightly; she seemed to have become stronger after they had met. A smile played on his features as his silver eyes glanced over at Alicia, he glided forward slightly so they where closer together once she had turn towards him.

‘Its good to see you Alicia, it feels as if I’ve found a missing part of myself.’

A passionate flame danced in his silver eyes as held her darks eyes while his hands clasped hers. He lift one her hands and kissed it lightly still not letting her gaze go.

‘The day we went in our different ways maybe realise my feelings for you are much deeper than I thought, Alicia.’

He squeezed her hands slightly only wondering how she truly felt about him.

She wanted so many things. So much tripped through her mind when she was wondering what to say to him. When he accepted the offer of food and wine, she moved into the kitchen. She was still visable from the living room, so she moved in there and kept talking. She picked out two glasses and a bottle of wine and started to move into the living area with them.

When Char said that, her mouth opened slightly, as though she wanted to speak but yet could not. She put the glasses and the bottle of wine down on the table and moved towards him. She watched, carefully, as he lifted her hand to his and kissed it. She wanted so much to feel his lips brush against her hand and she felt a shiver run down her back as he did so.

She didn't waver her gaze, her dark eyes watching him. Her skin was paler, somehow, even though she had been outside far more. As he held her hand, he felt the slowly forming callouses and the fact that her hand was, somehow, stronger. Yet she was trembling from head to foot.

I am a married woman! she thought to herself. She knew all the reasons why she shouldn't say what she said next. Yet still the words came out of her mouth.

I haven't thought about anyone but you, Char. I.. I don't know what happened there, but I know that....

She looked up at him, and felt the familiar frustration as the words started to stutter in her mouth.

When you kiss me, I feel like I've come home. Like I'm where I really belong. When you hold me, I feel whole. I.... feel like I've just realised what it is to be alive, Char. I.... I don't know what it means, but I know that I just want to have my hands in your hair, and feel your lips on mine. I feel like I'm truly alive for the first time in my life....

She looked up at him, then, and moved to kiss him. She paused for a second, almost about to say something, and then she simply stepped fully into his embrace, surrending to her need to feel his hands on her. She stepped in to kiss him, her lips searching for his. As she did, her arms wrapped themselves around him, moving around the back of his neck as she buried her hands into his hair. She kissed him with a passion that surprised her, as though she did not ever foresee letting that kiss stop. She pulled herself against him and simply allowed herself to fall into him.....

A soft smile crept onto his features as he heard Alicia’s true words spill from her mouth. He felt her smooth soft hand tremble within his own. Before he spoke a word he felt her lips press against his, her arms coming around his neck as her hands buried into his hair. Char felt a weird sensation within himself as he embraced Alicia; his hands slowly stroking down her body before they came to rest upon her hips.

He allowed the kiss to linger before he slowly pulled away, doubt played in his mind not knowing if this was the right thing to do or not. With the passion burning brighter between them, he wanted to make sure she knew what she was getting into, Alicia was still legally bind to another man though her later husband failed to show her compassion and respect.

‘You sure you want to do this?’

His silver eyes look at her soft face as he spoke to her in a soothing quiet voice. Were there lust for one another getting the better of them or was this something they both wanted. Char didn’t know the answer but he wanted to make sure Alicia did as she was the one more at risk.

He still held her curved body against his allowing her to press into him. Her features looked more beautiful than before. Chars insides still squirmed with that weird sensation as his hands remained on her hips.

To feel Char's hands on her was something that amazed and excited her all at the same time. She tingled with pleasure as his hands slid down her waist, coming to rest at her hips. He could undoubtedly feel her entire body trembling, but this time, unusually, it was not with fear or anything so negative. This time, it was with passion. She felt alternately hot and cold, her entire energies focused on the embrace of the man who held her in his arms.

Then he pulled away, and she felt somewhat confused. Confused and flustered, not sure of what was happening.
You sure you want to do this?
She smiled at him and looked coyly at him from beneath her dark lashes. She knew what he meant, as surely as he knew what she did, and she found herself unable to concieve of anything other than being with him.

I'm sure that I want to be with you she whispered, her voice deeper and husky as her breathing quickened. She leant herself against him and took strength from his touch. I don't think I need to be sure of anything else.....just.... here, she paused, looking at him with an expression that showed her as both the child and the woman she was. She looked at once vulnerable and haughty as she continued to speak

Just please don't hurt me... I couldn't bear it if you hurt me, too She whispered, but then she moved herself against him, allowing herself to surrender to her need to touch him. She leaned in to him and moved to kiss him once more. She stopped, though, a few inches away from his face, looking into his eyes with a mixture of passion and concern.

That is... if you want to. I mean.... I'm disgraced and beneath you. It... I want to be with you, Char. Really with you. I don't want a fling, I want a relationship. Can we do that?

Huge dark eyes looked at him, expectantly.

Char could see the slightly confused and flustered look upon her face. It seemed she was prepared as he was, to push their relationship onto a new level even if it meant betraying her wasted married. Her coyly look beneath her dark lashes and her words where enough for him.

He felt Alicia body tighten against his as her soft lips came closer to his but stopped just short. She seemed afraid of what might happen if he turned out just like her husband. However the young Gil’dae had no intentions for just a fling; she was now merging into apart of his life which he would never let go. He looked at her face for a few seconds before he answered her question with his own lips touching hers.

As he embraced her his hands slowly rose from her hips up her top not leaving her body. He could feel her smooth stomach, rubbing it slowly with his thumbs as his fingers gripped her sides holding her within his embrace.

As they became merged in the embrace it seemed she lent on him putting him slightly off balance. He fell back on to some of the pillows which Alicia dotted about the living room giving him a soft landing. There kiss was broken for a moment as Alicia was on top of him, he gave a slight laugh while a warm gentle smile played on his features.

As she fell, she laughed. It was a relatively strange sound for her to make, not a sound that she made often, that was for sure. She lay on top of Char, laughter lighting her face as she realised that they were on the floor together. She looked down at him as her long dark hair fell forward, pouring down over his shoulder.

She stopped, for a brief moment, and looked at Char with an expression on her face that was hard to read. There was a lot of emotion in her face, that much was certain. Char may have been surprised at the depth of emotion that was on her face. She was amazingly aware of the way that her legs were wrapped around his, she felt his body against hers every time she moved, and she was quickly discovering that the tingling feeling that she had felt was not limited towhen he touched her waist.

She looked down at him and a thousand thoughts filled her head. She cleared them of everything though, by simply laying forwards, her body pressed on top of his as she moved to kiss him. Her lips moved to meet his as her hands explored his body. She found him fascinating, every part of him, and she realised that she wanted to explore him completely.

She lay on top of Char, her legs wrapped around his and her slight frame trembling with barely contained passion as she kissed him. Her hands moved upwards, finding their way once again to his hair as she let herself go completely, her slight body moved with him as she pulled herself against him, and her lips sought his, hungrily.... she felt as though for the first time in her life she was truly alive. She had no intention of letting that feeling go now... not now that she'd found it.

Alicia’s legs where wrapped around his as she was on top of him trembling from the moments of passion and lust which had befallen them. Char found it hard to read her expression, it seemed as she was going through so many emotions at once but Char just desired her touch once again as they embraced in a kiss once again.

He could feel her hands touch his body as she moved hers down closer to his moving their bodies at the same time. As her hands once again dug into his hair and her lips sought his hungrily, Chars hands slowly moved upwards pulling her top slowly up. His hands moved over her curved features massaging them slowly and carefully and he carried on kissing Alicia.

His naked body lay on top of hers; sweat glossed both of their bodies. Their hands gripped together as he bent closer to her kissing Alicia’s soft lips once again. After the kiss he slowly let go of her grip and rolled besides her to panting for breath. He had exerted himself past exhaustion as the lust and passion for Alicia grew stronger every second when they embraced. Char pulled the table cloth, which they used as a cover, over them now just wanting to rest for a while.

Time seemed to have come to a stop not noticing day had turned into night and now into morning. He rolled over so his body touched hers allowing her to lay closer to him as they recovered from their night together. His left hand once again entangled with one of her hands.

It was impossible to form words. How could anyone actually think after.... after THAT?. Alicia lay in Char's arms and felt herself trembling against his skin. She pulled the table cloth over herself, smiling slightly in wry self-denigration at the modesty she suddenly felt.

Char? she whispered. There were a thousand questions on her lips, a million thoughts in her head. But she could not deal with any one of them, not now. So she laid back, revelling in the feel of him next to her and she simply enjoyed the feelings that were still coursing through her.

Char? she whispered, again. What do we do now? I.... I mean... what do we do? She didn't have any other words, so she stuck with what was simple.

Before Char could reply, she continued to speak, her voice calm and serene in a way that he had never heard before.
In the three years that I was married, I never felt like this. I.... I think I'm falling in love with you, and that scares me. I mean, I don't know you, but I feel like I belong just here....

As she spoke, she ran her finger gently over his chest, her light touch teasing him as she moved her hands over him, indicating the crook of his arm, and the way that his arm was around her.

So if that scares you off, I guess I've just really messed up, but it's true. she looked at him with an open and honest expression on her face.

So that's how it is. I am falling in love with you....... I.... want to be with you, Char. I know I'm disgraced, and married and everything that is the opposite of what you deserve, but you're everything I want.....

The next two words out of her mouth were perhaps something that would not be expected from one such as her. Or maybe they were the only thing that she could say.

I'm sorry she spoke quietly, and laid down against him, her fingers still teasing him across his chest, lightly touching as feather-light as a breath.

you deserve better than me. I understand how it goes. My husband has... had mistresses. I want to be with you. I don't care how. I don't care. Those were not words she thought she'd ever say, but as she lay in his arms, she experienced something that she'd not ever experienced before.

Char looked at Alicia as she whispered, his arms wrapping tightly around her.

‘Yes?’

He listened to Alicia speak, she held concerns and pressed home her feelings for him. It seemed as if her emotions had at last boiled down to questions and answers for her to finally understand. He knew how she felt but Alicia situation was different to his, she had now betrayed her husband though he treated her like scum.

Alicia seemed to carry on not allowing him to interrupt her, but even with her words of sorrow, Alicia seemed to be happy within his arms.

‘Alicia, don’t be sorry all the time, there isn’t any reason for you to be sorry for.’

Char felt Alicia fingers run softly over his chest as he continued his attempt to comfort her.

‘All I want is you Alicia, nothing more, nothing less.’

As he spoke softly to her, her hand which teased him soon became held within his own hand, their fingers becoming entwined. Char felt the warmth of her body heat up against him seeming relaxed up against him. He kissed her once again allowing the kiss to last a few moments enjoying the touch of her smooth lips before he pulled away. As he pulled away he said three words which even shocked him slightly.

‘I love you.’

I must be dreaming she thought to herself as she felt his tender arms around her and tasted the sweetness of his lips on hers. As he kissed her, she leant into the kiss, surprising herself with the depth of her passion for him.

As he pulled away she watched him, just looking into his eyes. She was so contented right now. So happy with where she was that she didn't even want to think about.......

And then he said it. Said that. Those words.

As he spoke them, her head started to spin. She felt her entire body tense as she realised what he had said. The pit of her stomach felt like a lead weight, suddenly.

"You... you.... oh." Not her most eloquent reply, she was sure of that.

Love me? How on Telath can he love me? she thought, wildly. Then, came the feeling of immense pleasure, of happiness greater than she'd ever known. In the space of a second, her body tensed and then her face broke into a smile of pure joy.

But.... wait

"Wait... wait a moment" she said, her voice shaking, 'That is a foolish thing for you to do. I... it can't happen, Char. It simply can't. I'm disgraced... well, if I wasn't disgraced before, I certainly am now." she blushed deeply as she said that, looking rather as if she wanted to hide somewhere else." You need to find yourself a ....." she paused, her voice choking as she said it, "a... a more suitable match. "

As she spoke, her face gave away her emotional state. She felt like she was being pulled into twenty different pieces. But she had to say this, had to make sure that what happened was what was best for him. Still, she couldn't look at him as she mumbled the next words. It was so difficult to say this, but to not do so, and therefore to lose him in her eyes, was impossible.

"I.. I told you. I'll be with you. But you musn't let this get any further, these feelings for me. Char, I can't be the one who ruins you. I couldn't live with myself. I..... I just know that I'll be with you, if you'll have me. I know that I love you, no matter what. And so I know that I'll be with you whatever way I can."

She looked back up at him. Knowing that she was taking a step from which she could never return, and also knowing that she was not able to do what she should do, and leave.

Char felt her body tense against his, knowing his words had shocked her slightly but her expression on her face told a different story. It seemed as if she exploded with pure joy at hearing his last words. However her Alicia’s face changed and as she spoke her voice seemed wounded.

He couldn’t understand Alicia attempt to push him away, did she feel she was going to hurt this much? Char, for a few minutes, couldn’t even utter an argument against her failing hopes for the pair. Toughs few minutes felt awkward, he pulled himself away from Alicia not knowing what to say, his expression changing from disbelief to confusion.

‘You’re the one… the one I want Alicia… if I must I would go before the combine fighting for your honour and love that’s begun between us.’

Char meant his words, he would even argue against Phedos for him if he was before them. However it was up to Alicia,

‘Alicia, you know how I feel… It would ruin me if you stepped back from us, not even giving me that chance to show you that your not a disgrace but I’m the one who earns your hand.’

Chars left hand stretched out towards one of hers griping it, his silver coloured eyes sought for some kind of indication within her beautiful face.

‘It’s up to you Alicia, do you push me away and I’ll leave or… you allow me to become apart of your life.’

He squeezed her hand knowing now the ball was now in her court, would she give them that chance of being together.

"Push you away? Oh Char, I'm sorry...." she felt him tense, felt him move away and felt herself respond to that with an almost desperate need for him to hold her. As his hand sought hers, she grasped it, tightly, seeking reassurance desparately.

"Char... I. " she spent a moment just trying to clarify her thoughts in her head. "I don't want to push you away. What I'm saying, what I'm trying to say, is that I want to be with you. However that comes about, that's what I want. I'll be your mistress, if that's the only way that I can be with you...."

She looked at him, then, her dark eyes tormented as she tried to let him know how she felt. Let him know what she didn't understand herself.

"Char. I... I want to be with you. I feel like I've finally found what I didn't know I was looking for. I couldn't... I won't leave. If you'll have me, I want to be with you. Only you. But it's complicated. There's my husband. What do I do about him? ABout me? I don't want to be a burden to you. I'd hate that. I want to ..."

At this point, Alicia looked into those silver eyes, those eyes that had haunted her for so long and he saw that her own eyes had filled with tears. She blinked, stopping the tears from falling.

"I want to be what you deserve, Char. But I can't be. So I'll be whatever you can take, and I'll be happy with it. Whatever. Always"

Alicia always over - analysed. She always tended to over complicate. But this time, she decided that a simple summary was best.

"I want to be with you, Char. If you'll have me, I'll take as much of that as I can. If you'll have me."

As Alicia words filled his mind he notices tears swell up within her eyes before she tried to blink them away. Alicia’s tears shown him that she meant each of her words and that they were delved deep into her feelings. Char felt Alicia’s had tighten around his.

‘I want you and only you Alicia, you know deep down that’s true.’

His silver eyes stared back into young dark eyes; he pulled Alicia closer to himself allowing her to wrap her arms around him. A fresh smile played on his features as he prepared to break the tension that had grabbed at the pair.

‘I will sort out your husband but that’s another matter, I at least must tell my fair lady about my family if I’m planning to spend my life with her.’

As he spoke he realised he had to leave soon knowing his departure could hurt Alicia. But he would tell her soon but first he wanted to tell her about his family, in time she would join his family.

‘Well then what do you want to know?’

Char spoke in a playful tone as his silver eyes sparkled afresh; he teasingly kissed her lightly on the lips.

Alicia smiled slightly, which then turned into a smile of pleasure as Char continued to speak. She held herself against him, pulling herself into his embrace.

"Char... I.. " she searched for something to say. Something that would tell him how she was feeling. She had no words, and she knew that those that she would manage to find would be insufficient. But they were all she had.

" I want to know you." she responded, quietly and thoughtfully, "I want to know what you love, what you hate. I want to know what it is that makes you smile when you wake in the morning, and what it is that makes you sad. Right now, right at this minute, I want to know you. Other people will come later, my love, but for the moment, for the now, I want to know you....."

She paused, then, realising that perhaps she sounded a little too pushy, and she held onto his hand, playing her fingers with his.

"I want to meet everyone that you love, and I want to know everything about you that there is to know. I just want to be with you, Char, and I want to discover you..."

As she said that, she ran her finger teasingly along his chest, touching him gently as would a breath. She grinned at him as shhe did so, obviously hoping for a reaction from him.
