Requesting a meeting (Ric, Quix)

Upon entering the city once more, he took a slight comfort coming back to a place that had been very... "exciting" on his last venture. However, he was not here on pleasure- this journey was intended to meet an old friend, and maybe even talk some business. However, with Quix now being leader of the city, the thanal palace was obviously his first destination- and so, he walked there accordingly, accompanied by his 40 guards that demanded respect.

Upon finding the manor, Riconus casually walked up the steps and tapped on the door, if there were no obstacles in his way, of coarse. Folding his hands behind his back, he waited for a reply to his knock.

The Thanal Palace was not like most palace. It was not as big and it was not as flashy as most. Walking up to the palace was to venture up a twisted stone walk way that was condensed by forest. Upon viewing the palace from the front you would notice a West Wing that was a tower draped with brick red roofing accopanied by stone grey walls. The only thing that made the Palace stand out was its enormous front doors with Gargoyle knockers on the front.

Right as Riconus lifted his fist to knock the door opened before his fist and the door met. A young servant girl with green eyes and brown hair wearing a dress of greens and light browns answered the door.

"You must be Riconus Kaldres?" Her sweet voice said as she looked at the group of adventurers.

"The Thane has been expecting you. Sir Kaldres you may follow me the others that accpany you please follow Mary" The young girl said as she motioned for Marie and older women came to greet the men.

"Ok, First off all you men need to leave your weapons at the door here with Dumpling. " The old women said in a raspy voice.

"I told you women, never call me Dumpling, stop it, stop it, stop it! My name is Dumm (pronuced Doom) the dwarf." The dwarf said in a annoyed manner.

"You all need to leave your weapons here with me except for Sir Kaldres. In doing so, All of you follow Marie into the mess room for food and drink while Sir Kaldres and Thane Quix have their meeting.


The young girl with green eyes and brown hair waited as Riconus followed her. "By the way my name is Willow."She said sweetly


After following Willow down the hallway around the corner and up a spiral stair case you come upon a room the is decorated for an adventure and that of what seemed to be pieces of lost tresaures from the sea.

Quix stood up out of his chair and came to greet Riconus. "Serale, good friend. It has been awhile."

Riconus gave a polite nod to Willow after opening the door and allowing he and his guard within the palace, which, although was not as extravagant as those in say Midpoint or Prime, was still one that exuded a definate presense within the prosperous merchant city.

Upon request, Riconus turned to his men and ordered them to disarm with the wave of a hand. They all placed their swords within the care of Dumm in-turn, attempting not to notice the awkward conflict between the house servants. Though Riconus kept his sword on his waistside, as was allowed by Marie, the apparent leader of the house servants, he gladly took the guidance of the green-eyed Willow up to Lord Quix's chambers. Her introduction was met by a warm smile from the elven general.

"It is an honor to meet you, Lady Willow."

Upon reaching Quix's room, Riconus turned to Willow before entering, kissing her hand in a gentlemen nature should he receive the oppurtunity.

"Your guidance is appreciated, m'lady."

Once entering the room, Riconus' soul lit up after seeing his friend from many a time ago, now well established in the world of politics. His arm extended itself to Quix with a glowing smile, while he examined the room and its rather adventurous setting.

"Quix, my good friend- or should I say, Lord Thane Quix. I'm glad to see that you made a great name for yourself here in Riparia. I hope we chose the same thing, to leave the... shall we say, 'underground' world for more noble endeavours.

So, may I have a seat?"

Willow smiled and her eyes light up with laughter as Riconis kissed her hand. She quickly bowed and ran off to help out the others in the mess hall.

Quix etended his hand to Riconus. "No need to address me as Thane, we are among friends here; please take a seat, would you like a drink?" Quix asked as he opened a chest and pulled out an oddly shaped bottle

"So my friend, what ventures have taken you captive lately?" Quix asked as he poured some fine aged whiskey into two glasses and handing Riconus one

The alcohol offered by Quix was gladly accepted from a man who had little while travelling from Frigid River. Riconus took rest on whatever seat available, and got comfortable and ready for some cathing-up with an old friend. He would be most interested in hearing what Quix had been doing, as well.

"What have I been doing? Well, after my lord, Pirvan Kaldres, began making headlines with his revolution in Lauryl, I answered his call for assistance and took a leadership role within his cabinet, commanding his military. We've since been able to gain much support from various cities, organizations, militias and even religous orders. Yet still, Mystique seems content on destroying us before Empress Audrey's decision is made.

I must admit, it does worry me that Governor Chamelon of Lauryl is surprisingly anxious to fight before our Empress has even stated her opinion."

Riconus took back a sip of his whiskey, showing no facial expressions of fear despite relaying his concern to Quix verbally. However, he was not one to ruin a good mood, and quickly turned to asked his mate the same question.

"Well, enough about me. How are you doing, both in Riparia and abroad?"

IC: Quix drank his wiskey fast as he listened to his friend speak of his adventures and embarks. It is good that our neighbouring cities have come together yet I have heard somewhat of the same from Mystique. They do not share the same intrest or intentions as the rest of us do.

Well, after I was elected Thane I journyed a bit and came across the once renowkn Stone Guard that I had to join up with just from the rumors of them and their amazing feats they've come across. One of my old relatives ran with the same Merc group so I figured why not contiue the tradition. They are a loyal bunch I tell you. I also ran into the Coven of Twilght. Perhaps you may have heard of someone by the name of Bahama Turner? I'm not quite sure fo their intentions but I trust Bahama adn believe he wouldnt sterr me wrong.

And well now...I have heard rumors of gangs runing around in my city and it angers me. I believe shortly there will be a war."

Quix added as he got up to get himself another glass of wiskey.

At this notion of gang violence in Riparia, he couldn't help but feel responsible for the mess. Surely, without the guidance of himself or its former leader, Lucian DiVilli, the Coven wouldn't be able to put up that great a fight- the withdrawal of the Black Dragon Syndicate only weakened them moreso.

Nevertheless, it was very uplifting to hear how successful Quix had been since his rise to thaneship.

"Well Quix, my good friend, it seems you have done much in the time we have been parted. I believe my lord, Pirvan Kaldres, was also of the Stone Guard and possibly still is- he wanted you to know that he takes you in high regard, considering the feats you have accomplished in such a small period."

Riconus took another sip of his whiskey, starting casual chat among friends. However, he couldn't help but wonder what Quix thought of what was going on in Lauryl, and considering Quix's newfound knowledge in politics, it would be indeed interesting to find what his perogative was in Alleria's most recent civil war.

"Though I obviously came here simply to talk about what we've been up to, I find myself intrigued as to what you think about the situation in my province. You are now a wiseman in government, my friend, and I would be indeed honored to know if you have an opinion on the Lauryllian confrontation.

From my side, all opinions are biased one way or another, and I yearn for a thought yet corrupted by outside beliefs, such as yours."

Though it could have been an uneasy situation with anyone else, Riconus always perferred the honest truth rather than a sugar-coated response. As a friend from long ago, he hoped that Quix could be that honest truth, and give his outright opinion. Obviously though, he could understand if the conversation was better left alone.

Quix had accomplished much in such a short period and he really did not realize it until Riconus had mentioned so. Between joining the Stone Guard, meeting with Bahama Turner and being held up in the Soircraft Quix hasn't had much time to talk with his friends much more so look at his past and future.

"My friend, I'd be lying to you if I told you I knew much about the civil war but if there is civil war amongst us then we need to address such a situation. Perhaps I should talk to Governor Chamelon of Lauryl personally to find out why he is so content on destroying you , as you had said."

"But if needs be, I will withdraw from my postion and help you and your soldiers fight for your cause. I would be much honored to fight along side you and the Coven."


Quix knew that Riconus had been part of the Coven and the gang war was still a concern but Quix was willing to fight with the Coven and resign from his postion as Thane to help.

"I also may be able to have some of my fellow Stone Guard fight along with us, at least when the war of gangs begins; of course they dont come but without a price for the exception of one of two friends there." Quix said all of this and took a sip of whiskey. He awaited Riconus' response and was willing to help a trusted friend.

Quix's words were certainly encouraging, to think that he would even give up his prestigous thaneship in order to fight alongside the factions they were mutually related to. Though he would never need to do that, it did bring up a certain proposal in Riconus' mind, that could possibly benefit the both of them.

"Well Quix, now that you mention it, I do have an idea. You see, we both have problems dealing with unnecessary threats- you have the gangs in Riparia and I have the Mytique Forces. However, I believe that if we worked together, we might be able to rid ourselves of these obstacles. Please, allow me to explain."

Riconus took a last sip of whiskey before placing it on a table and leaning into Quix. Still, he felt there was no need to whisper or watch eachother's back considering how safe the enviroment was, and besides, the High Elf thought of this just to be a friendly chat between pals, with the possibility of helping out eachother in the process.

"Well Quix, let me offer you my services. The Black Dragon Syndicate, of which I now chiefly command, no longer shows alliance to any gang, be it the Coven or otherwise. Furthermore, my men are able to eliminate criminals and destroy their establishments in silence, and without the limits put on by a police force, such as the Riparia Guard. With 450 highly-trained mercenaries patrolling your streets, they can tear the gangs to pieces before a war even starts in your streets.

As for how I was hoping you could help me... well, my good friend, I hate asking favours, but I'm afraid I face trouble as well. You see, the Mystique Forces are much larger than ours, and even though we are far more skilled than they, their sheer size could cause major problems for us."

Even though he had much trust and comradery in Quix, he still regretted having to ask things of a friend like he, especially in the situation Riparia was in, with a possible gang war looming.

"In return for my assistance in quelling your gang war, I was hoping you could offer some sort of military reinforcement should Mystique attack us before peace talks have begun. Though I hope you consider this, I fully understand if the Riparian Guard is unable to meet such extended tasks."

It was somewhat worrysome that the commander had yet to greet his new superior after so long a time. As a thane, this military man should have come to Quix, not the other way around, yet still, Riconus was intent on intend on seeing him, even if that meant running around Riparia and into the Riparian Guard Headquarters. Quix, being the good friend that he was, didn't have to go to any lengths to help him, and if necessary, Ric would do whatever it took to set out some agreements. He made this known to the Thane.

"Quix, you're a good friend- you don't need to do anything at all to prove that. If you like, let me schedule a meeting with the Riparian Commander and we could possibly negotiate terms of assisting eachother, officer to officer.

I would, of coarse, only do this with you blessing."

OOC2: This only my proposal, so that you don't have to worry about posting in this thread. Ladon's a great mod, so I'm sure he could RP the commander, if necessary

"Set up a meeting with the commander of the Riparian forces and make sure he knows I had sent you to speak with him. Here is a paper with my signature and the seal of the Riparian city upon it. Once you have thigns worked out with him I wouuld like to speak with both of you at once to make sure the deal is settled to meet your needs." QUix said to his friend handing him the parchment


"Riconus, before you leave, I am going to be attending a meeting in Midpoint to speak with Lady Alicia Tameral to discuss some matters. I will bring this subject to her understanding and the uinderstanding of others. Your name with be safe. As soon as I get back we will discuss this matter further." Quix said trying not to act to big regardless if he was Thane or not. Riconus was his friend, a very trusted friend.
