[Location] Dio's Runic Hunters

-=|Dio’s Runic Hunters |=-

Description:

A building stood like a sore eye to many that crossed the street with its lime green and blood red designs. It had the smell of blood and animals, the paths of grim and dirt and the looks of an coffin house, some place where no one wish to visit, yet it was placed in the middle of an expensive district, and had a strict rule of having no more than 10 customers in the shop at one time, thus long queues were not uncommon outside this place. It was enforced by men most wanted by the military as soldiers, as these men were handpicked and trained by Dio himself.

Upon admittance into the building through its door which was richly decorated with pictures of dragons, phoenixes and unicorns, one would see twelve counters, ten of which was attended by a storekeeper, and a stairway that goes downwards. It was common knowledge that through the stairs was the storage area of the meat purchased. The central counter, which was usually empty, was the counter for Dio, making business deals with hunters that were trying to sell rare to mystical games, and with people, usually nobles who wish to bid on one of his rare items which was listed on the counter itself. Occasionally, a Lutran named Sep’ber would be found within the hall of Dio’s Runic Hunters, training, advising and was even rumored that he had the ability to change the fate of others.

OOC: I have not put an NPC storekeeper as in such a place, many storekeepers work in this place, and most of the storekeepers should be hunters who are training under Dio or Sep’ber (So they work for minimum wages and 3 meals a brightening)

A Book written by Dio:
Secrets :
Dio’s Guide to Hunting
Anyone can be a Hunter

Definition of a Dio Hunter:
One who travel in the wild, gathering food by foraging, hunting, trapping and surviving.

What differentiate a True Hunter and other hunters?
A True Hunter hunts for their own survival, to test their limits against the wild and to protect those that they love. Other hunters hunt for only pleasure, or prize.

So everyone who hunts is a hunter?
Under normal ruling yes. Under me, Dio the Great Hunter rule, no. One that travel into the wild with twenty men, thirty hunting dogs, horses, soldiers and enormous range of weapon against a poor deer is not a hunter. Neither is one who seek to kill a tiger with nothing by a dagger is called a hunter. The first example is what I would call, a Noble Gamer. The second example is what I would call, a foolish man.

Styles of Hunters:
There are many styles of hunter. Many like me used the style called Jack, though only one out of a hundred may call themselves a Master Jack Hunter, like myself. Listed below are the different hunter styles, though most successful hunters had adapted a combination of two to three styles. A Jack is one who had adapted all the hunter styles, and a Master Jack like myself is one who adapted all the hunter styles, and is a master of every single style

Commons
The common hunter style which most hunters would use. Laying low and rushing forward with their weapons to slay the game.

Trappers
Like their namesake, they set traps to capture their victims. Pitfalls, poison shooters, trigger shots and nets.

Falconer/Tamer
Hunters that hunt using their falcon or their trained animal.

Snipers
Unlike most common hunters, the Sniper had trained themselves to camouflage themselves well in their hunting surroundings. The best Sniper only has one motto – ‘Ten Games in my sight, Ten Arrows in my Quiver’

Berserkers
The rarest of style, and what one might call the foolish man, but they’re not. The berserker only hunt the rarest of games where basic traps and normal arrows would not hunt them. (Example: Dragons). Thus, they would have spent all their life, honing their skill, earning gold and purchasing a weapon that could damage the game they wish to seek.

Robbies
The scavenger foragers. Unlike other hunters, hunters of this style do not seek to kill their own prey. Instead, they forage lures and their food. They use lures to bring predators towards their wanted prey, and allowed the predators to do the work. True to a Robber namesake, after the predator finishes its job, it uses another scent to chase the predator away to keep the prey.

Alexes
The hunter that brings only one ration of food, his trusty weapon, a carving knife and a small tool kit with them. Using whatever provided by nature, food, trees, bones and even meat of another herbivore, the hunter would make his way through the area for several brightenings and return with his hunts

Jacks
Hunters that uses all 6 styles in their hunts. Common for beginner hunters when they do not know which is best for them, but as they grow they specialize. Master of Jacks are those who can use any of the above listed style effectively.

Carving OR Carrying
Most hunters often ignore the beauty of carving or taking the useful items directly from the game. Instead, they would carry the entire creature back to town to be sold. It is often the best way to earn, as why remove only 1 pound of meat when you can easily sell 50 pounds?

Basic carvers have the ability to remove specific parts of the game’s corpse, their bones, their meat, or some of their organs, though usually after carving the parts out, the game would be too destroyed to sell. For basic carvers, which is most hunters, it is best to use their skill to take what they want or to train themselves, and bring the other games back whole.

More advance carvers would learn how to take the more expensive parts from the game without destroying the corpse, and use the rest as their own food, lures or raw materials. The expensive parts would then be sold. Think about this. 1 pound of the ribs cost 50 crowns, but the whole 50 pounds of the game cost 1500 crowns. You are only able to take 50 pounds back to town, but you see more than 50 of such games. Simple maths, you can easily earn 1000 crowns more.

The Experts or Master carvers like me can remove the exact part we want without damaging any other parts of the game. A butcher would only buy good meat at 500 crowns, but they would never pay for the bones and skins. A leather maker would easily pay 500 crowns for the skin, and a restaurant which uses bones as their stocks would easily pay another 300 crowns. That an extra 1800 crowns, if combined with what is learnt as an advance carver!

I can never find the prey I want, and when I find it, it would escape after a fight. Then I cannot win it again.
That, my friend, is a common problem. If you wish to seek your prey easily, talk to my pal Sep’ber, who could change your luck for a price. Side effects included thought, so be warned.

Now, you found it, you had given it 6 slashes and a piece of poison meat. It’s staggering, and it’s losing, then it disappears. You spend your time seeking for it, wasting your energies, and guess what, your game is munching happily to recover its strength, and it might even be asleep. My advice, do not get distracted. Kill the prey as fast as you could and don’t get too arrogant.

How do I get more questions answered, and where can I sell my games when nobody wants them.
As long as it is not carved, and the questions are about hunting or about me, please direct your questions and meat to Aelyria Prime, Rio’s Runic Hunters. All would be answered and purchased with minimum price!

NPCs:

Dio Huntsman (Retired Hunter)

Secrets :
Name:
Dio Huntsman
Race & Gender:
Human, Male

Age:
40 Ordinations

Physical Description & behavior:

Dio was a man described to be a grizzly bear. If one say if it was only his large amount of hair all over his body that gave him his nickname, they were sorely wrong for he could be mistaken as a dwarf, if not for his height of 2 meters. No one like to stay around Dio for too long, for his black eyes seemed to be able to pierce deep into another’s soul, studying them, and finding faults, just like how a hunter appraise his prey before they strike. There was one more mystery about his man, and it was shown all over his face. It was the mystery of how he actually looked like for his thick facial hair had almost covered his entire face.

History:
Dio was one of the most talented hunters in his guild, and had been trained as one since he could hold a dagger without dropping it. He had accomplished many hunts, and his trophy ranged from a simple rabbit, to a large bear, and in all his hunts, he only uses three tools – His Falcon, his hunting dogs, and his bare hands. On his 30th birth-brightening, he surprised everyone in his guild by saying he was moving to Aelyria Prime to set up a small time business.

Dio did just that, for when he first arrived in Aelyria Prime, he began operating a butcher shop, selling things he had hunted. It was good at first for it was a novelty to many to purchase items that were captured by one’s bare hands, but like all other novelty, it turned stale after a season. Dio was heartbroken, and was too ashamed to return to his own guild, but his luck change when he met Sep’ber who had many contacts and a special ability that hardly anyone else had. He advised Dio to change it into a hunter shop, and that’s what Dio did.

After that, an amazing thing happened. There was no maid, or housewife entering his shop to buy his meats as they often did, instead, other hunters began patronizing his store. Soon, as Sep’ber used his contact and talents, bulk buyer customer started patronizing him too. Dio was a rich man, but one that still enjoyed hunting.

Sep’ber Aurah (Luck Changer)

Secrets :
Name:
Sep’ber Aurah
Race & Gender:
Lutran, Male

Age:
Young Adult

Physical Description & behavior:

Sep’ber Aurah, a blue lutran looked no different from any other lutrans found around Telath. He seemed to be so ordinary, so plain, so forgettable, yet within him was a dark secret that Dio did not know.

History:
Sep’ber Aurah had been a fugitive of his own kind since young, for he was a Lutran lungs mutated so much by magic that he could not stay underwater for more than ten minutes at one go, instead, he lived like a land dweller, walking around land, breathing and living the life that no other Lutrans could possibly imagine.

It was not known when he met his teachers of Ikos who had taught him his art of Ikos, and less was known what he used his magic for. The only thing one was sure, was that he used his skill to change his luck, and became a rich Lutran.

Skills:
Adept Ikos

Special To Note when modding:
Sep’ber Aurah only visit Dio twice a cycle, but no one knows when he would be visiting. Thus you need a mod to use him.

Sep’ber Aurah only teaches Ikos to those who train hard, and that means selling at least 100 crowns worth of game over an infinite period of time. He would not charge a single crown for his training, but his student must complete up to Apprentice Ikos, and during the time of training, the student must continue to sell at least 50 crowns worth of game over a season or two months, whichever is longer.
