[Store] Laseya's Fine Spirits and Essences

A small stone hut is located nearly in the center of the Merchant District, mingling with the busy structures bordering the Scholar Quarter. Nestled beside a larger, newer wooden warehouse, a large sign proclaims the name of the shop to all who pass by. A bunch of vividly purple grapes and a silver cup, wrapped by a green vine indicated the nature of the spirits and essences available within.

Inside, the decór theme continued. Wooden trellises criss-crossed the walls of the small hut. Dried vines, with large dried grapeleaves dangled from the rounded ceiling. Wooden racks held bottles and bottles of varying alcoholic beverages. The different liquids were organised according to type. One rack held bottled ale, another held white wines. A willowy elf in pale green robes, embroidered with a pattern of grapes and leaves wandered through the artificial vineyard, gently dusting the displayed bottles from the fine layer of dust that seemed to accumulate every brightening.

On the backwall a smoothed section of the bare stone wall was painted with a listing of the available beverages, the style of beverage, the location of its making and the prices. The list was very extensive.

Tarfuss entered the store and smiled at all the bottles. This was a Store! He chose three bottles of Northern Cider and one bottle of Placidian Gold Whiskey and placed them before the clerk. Fishing the 70 crowns out of his pouch he wished the clerk a good day and set off, whistling a cheerful tune.

It hadn't been very easy to find, what with Prime being such a polyglot mixture of the old and the new; and this particular shop being more of the former.

The carriage stopped right outside the shop, a gaggle of two escorting cavalrymen having to similarly grasp tight on their respective reins to stop in time. Some did curse, but under their breath, for the Imperial Minister of War could be quite odd when in his odd moods.

They never stopped talking about the marine who'd been forced to single-handedly carry a near-sackful of chocolate from a similar shop in Prime after having erroneously splashed mud on the Minister's boots. The door being swiftly opened, so did an individual step out, clad in uniform as always, eyes, always bright and cerulean-blue, back straight, and boots crisp on pavement and shop floor, leather greatcoat always flowing and leaving a curious militant touch.

He did not give any indication as to his name, rank, or status, he merely went in and examined the interiors of the business establishment, a pensive look on his face, with the requisite attendants in uniform to do requisite attendant things, such as hold the packages and pay the fellow.

It wasn't the Imperial Minister of War, but he did have the Minister's money and spoke with the Minister's tacit approval. It was just part of his job being something of an attendant to the very odd fellow.

"Two bottles of each of the wines and liquors, please," said he rather apprehensively, knowing full well and anticipating the curious reaction. A good thing, indeed, that he had help to carry the packages.

The Minister didn't care much for ale, as was evidenced. Having paid the fellow, the Minister's carriage made its way back into the Palace of Light, its contents to be disposed of, appropriately.
