Meeting a Dorin (Lanthis, PM to join)

Timestamp: 12th of Optia, Era XIV, Post Fractum

Ceniel was doing his rounds as usual. He was a fairly handsome elf with almond shaped green eyes, lightly tanned skin, and short brown hair. There were quite few people out today and he had trouble keeping an eye on everything. His hand was resting on the hilt of his shortsword and he was hoping he wouldn't have to use it. He walked by the marketplace and slapped the hand of a urchin who's hand had strayed to far to his coins. He exited the marketplace and started heading toward the slightly poorer area of the city. This was where most of the hovels were. Today he passed by his own house. Then he took a left down the orad and conitnued walking.

Lanthis, the large black furred Dorin, left his small one roomed hovel in the poorer district of Medonia. His dirty brown cloak covered his upper body and legs down to his knees...A few sizes smaller than he would prefer but it has been through the same hardships he's faced throughout the long years. Underneath it was hidden a dagger that had been his since childhood. Anyone stupid enough to tangle with Lanthis would feel the icy breath of it. His long snout picked up the all too familiar stench of the slums and his blood-red eyes probed the street for any unwanted interferences.

Taking a right out of his door he slumped lazily through the muck of the street.

Ceniel watched as the Dorin exited its home. His hand gripped the pommel of the shortsword as he came closer. As he passed he gave a curt nod to the Dorin and said "Serale." He kept walking, turned around looked at the Dorin. Kept walking, turned around looked at the Dorin. Kept walking, oh what the heck, he gave in to his curiosity. Ceniel turned around and walked back to the Dorin "Who are you? I thought I knew all my nearby neighbors. But I don't think I have seen you before. I am Ceniel by the way."

Each footstep the tall elf took told a story to Lanthis. The elf walked closer and closer.

"Serale to you" Lanthis growled in reply. "Do I seem strange to you elf?. Why do you glance at me like I'm some common criminal? My name is Lanthis... An I see your hand on your sword... Do you want to lose it?" Lanthis blinked at Ceniel. His red eyes penetrated the elf and his ears picked up the beat of his heart.

"No, no I am sorry if I offended you. I just have never talked to one of your race." Ceniel looked apologetic. The next question could have been perceived as a threat and Ceniel would have taken it as one if he wasn't so curious about Lanthis. He tried another tact. "No I don't wish to lose my sword and I doubt I will. So how long have you been here?"

"The Dorin let out a laugh at the elf "I didn't mean your sword..."

"How long have I been here?" The Dorin asked himself. "The 12th is today yes? Sooo... Since the 10th maybe... I don't really remember."

The dark Dorin rubbed a scar that ran along his right arm.

"Your heart, I am impressed by your ability to control it's rythm. Most other's quake at the sight of me" He let out a large smile that showed off his sharp teeth. "I think we'll get along just fine... You have no need to fear me Ceniel. I am just a lone Dorin wasting away his painful days... You have no need to fear me..."

He trailed off on the last syllabel and tried to hide his stomachs awful groan.

Ceniel laughed. "Well I probably wouldn;t be a very good guard if I was scared of everything? Although you would probably scare off quite few people." Ceniel stuck out his hand and said "Well I think we shall get along well." Ceniel stopped smiling and said "When was the last time you had a decent meal? Listen I am getting off my guard duty in a quarter candlemark, why don't you come and eat with me?"

Lanthis grabbed Ceniels hand firmly and replied:"I would like that very much Ceniel. I haven't eaten in a long time. Shall I walk with you til then?"

Ceniel shook Lanthis's hand and led him around town.

~A quarter of a candlemark later~

Ceniel led Lanthis to the tavern and walked in.

OOC: ok this thread needs to be held up until Aqua can tell me what the name of the tavern is and how much everything costs.

Lanthis walked with Ceniel for a quarter candlemark. He was then led into the tavern.
