[location] Cryos Camp.

Those black clad warriors who wear the bright blue sash practice Rhingorda and follow their own master religiously. This man is said to control the elements of ice after he had been frozen for a hundred era's before the Aethergem broke. In that time he had discovered new and inner powers within himself that he now teaches those to his plentiful students. They call their organisation Cryos after what their master had endured to gain this wisdom.

The building of Cryos was black, like most buildings in the deep catacombs of Malice. However, as most hallways were lit by torches, or lanterns, this one was not. It was surprisingly cold within the hallways nearing this tall black structure. It's dual gates were made of black obsidian, excessively cold to the touch -much colder than any other stone should be. Big blue banners hung by either side of the doors; a banner was mandatory for any place of alignment within Malice, so that all could easely see which belonged to whom.

The paths, altough not lighted by any source of heat, were illuminated nonetheless. Blue quartz lined the pathways, alleyways and streets that circled down to here; enchanted so that they glowed brightly, giving everything a faint blue tinge. This in turn, implied further the cold that eminated from the building. that and the ceaseless drumming that came from it. Like a barge or man-o-war the drums beat, as the men inside practiced their art.

Arkahn Th'alashar is a benevolent Adventurer

Where Arkahn had moved slowly before he now picked up his pace. He was actually quite excited about this new training, even though it would just serve as a cover for his real activities, learning new things about combat was always a good thing in Arkahn's mind. He would have to plan more of these 'field trips' into darker cities. They seemed to be worth his time.

The directions Merl had given him to the 'Cryos' were a lot better than Remkes' directions to the Barrel, which had been non-existant. Like he had been told Arkahn followed the main road down, looking around at several moments from underneath his hood Arkahn really didn't pay as much attention to his surroundings as he should have. To be honest, he forgot about his little mission. Well, he'd get to it in due time ofcourse.

Finally he had reached the blue banners in front of a quite non-descript building. It was black like most of the buildings he had seen up to now, although he hadn't seen many buildings with two gates. Slowly the Tigron's hand extended to one of the obsidian gates which felt extremely cold, much to the Katta's surprise. What the heck was he getting himself into now? Was this wise? For a moment Arkahn hesitated, only to push away the thoughts a moment later. He had come here to do this, and he didn't just spend 20 crowns on info, no, 50 crowns on info in total just to walk away.

Again the Tigron's hand extended towards the gates, this time his hand balled into a fist which knocked hard on the doors twice. Now the waiting had begun and the Tigron would just have to see what by the M'Taerowl he had gotten himself into now.

After a short while the two doors creaked, as if Arkahn was standing on ice. Ice that was about to splinter underneath him and claim him. They swung inwards, albeit very slowly. They were being dragged, both, each by a black clad warrior with a blue sash across his waist. Directly before Arkahn however, stood another such warrior, though slightly more imposing.

He too, wore all black, and a blue band across his waist, though his blue was slightly wider than the others. Perhaps he was of a higher rank within this organisation. On his face, there was only a slit for his eyes; the rest being covered in black cloth too. His arms crossed, the two eyes showed only anger, focused directly at the tigron warrior.

"What have you come here for?" He spoke, in forced charismean. His voice was broken, unused to this language. Words came slowly, but deliberatly. He was obviously not used to speaking a lot.

Arkahn's ears twitched with the sound of ice breaking underneath his feet as it took him several moments to realise it were the doors opening. Good. He didn't feel like taking a dive in the midst of Malice, especially not under a sheet of ice. He didn't mind water, but ice cold, nearly frozen water was another thing.

His one eye now looked to the place where there had been doors before, doors which had now been replaced by 2 warriors, dressed in black outfits with blue sashes across the waist. In between stood another one, larger, meaner and obivously stronger in skill than the other two. His eyes looked at him with cold hatred, but that wasn't something Arkahn wasn't used to, just not from someone he needed training from.

Still, he held quite some respect for the man as he seemed to be direct. The Katta himself wasn't fond of chit-chatting away about nothing when business was concerned. The answer to the question was simple, and the Tigron intended on answering it that way. "I came here to train." No breath was wasted on explaining who gave him the information about training being available here, or on what he planned on training at. If the man wanted to know, he would ask, but Arkahn highly doubted the warrion was even remotely interested. Unflinching Arkahn stood before the three warriors, waiting on a response from the middle warrior.

"Many have come seeking the art of the warrior here;" the man started, harshly, in the same, slow broken voice as before. He had carefully considered his sentence before he said it in full. "Many have failed." he added, ominously. The two warriors who had opened the door now stood to flank Arkahn, arms crossed, in imitation of their obvious superiour.

"What makes you, kat-tah, special amongst all those seekers?" He then asked, his voice still harsh and stern. Maybe this was how they showed their dislike for guests and visiters. "What makes us, want you, in Cryos? What, have you come to seek?" Again, the questions were asked in such a way, that the wrong answer would result in immediate disqualification. Likely, by the excessive appliance of unnecesary force. The two flanking warriors stood poised -they seemed eager to test their skills. They still stood with their arms crossed, but a slight twitch - something - gave away the eagerness of these blue aligned warriors to put their training into practice.

Arkahn listened to the leader's questions, which made it obvious that these guys weren't just a bunch of thugs who knew how to fight. They were actually an organisation bent on having only carefully selected people in their ranks. A good sign of quality, a bad sign for possibilities. The Tigron hated job interviews or just answering questions. Still he understood he would have to answer the man's inquiries or his goons would make sure he didn't try to walk in... Or walk ever again for that matter.

His head slowly moved from size to size, looking at both warriors which flanked as if sizing them up, while all he was really doing was buying some time. Slowly he turned back to face their leader.
"There is only one reason for which you should take me on. I've never given up on a single thing in my life. Give me a task and I will complete it." It was a short answer for a short question and the Tigron just hoped the man accepted his answer. Talking about his physical strength and agility would be useless, the man himself had eyes in his head which could measure up the Tigron's body if he was even looking for someone strong.

"Will you now? You think you have endurance? We have a test..." The man spoke, slowly, deliberatly. He then motioned to the other two warriors, who bowed towards the leader and closed the massive door behind the Tigron.

"Test show your dedication." The man spoke, as Arkahn was led through a narrowing passageway. The two other warriors had stayed with the door -the man was obviously confident he could take care of any trouble Arkahn had the audacity to pull. There were no torches here; Whenever there was light, it was a cold, dead blue light.

Soon enough they came to a dank, dark room. Blue crystals lined the walls, shedding a little light. Pairs of wooden buckets stood in each of the four corners. "Unclothe. " he spoke, as the warrior moved to the left hand corner next to the door to pick up one of the buckets.

Slowly Arkahn followed the blue-sashed warrior. At least he hadn't got killed instantly, something which would mean at least something... But what? Was he walking slowly towards an agonizing death? Or would the man actually just test his stamina. Arkahn smiled to himself. If they were about to give him a massive beatdown, they were in for a bit of a surprise. He had been through more physical pain than most Commanders had ever seen in their lives, and sometimes he wondered if certain wounds would actually have hurt more had they been inflicted an era ago.

The Tigron followed the warrior without making a sound. The Malician didn't seem to be worried with watching his back, which was open for Arkahn to attack had he been stupid enough to do so. As they entered the room the Katta found himself enshrouded in darkness, something to which his one eye accomodated quite well thanks to the little light that was there. Slowly the Tigron took off his robe, discarding it casually on the ground next to him before taking off his shirt and trousers. He didn't need clothing anyway, his fur shielded him enough from the coldness inside. He only wore them because of who he was. A soldier in the Empire. And soldiers, as everyone knew, didn't walk around naked.

Slowly he folded his arms in front of his massive chest. Katta, and especially Tigrons, were large beings, well muscled and quite imposing by nature. Blacksmithing and regular training, added by real battles had only shaped his muscles to greater size. He didn't look like a bodybuilder with muscles shaped as if chiseled out of rock though. The Katta's muscles were dense, strong, visible, but not overly so. Most people would just describe him as big. Everywhere over his body the Tigron had scars from battles, fights and duels. The one easiest to notice being a very broad scar running over his chest diagonally, all the way down to his hip.

Without speaking the Tigron followed the fighter's movement unflinching, quiet, preparing for whatever the man might have in store for him.

The warrior said nothing. The room was cold, very cold. Even for a fur-covered warrior such as Arkahn. Then, it became a whole deal colder in a single agonizing instant. Moments later, water dripped from the tigron's back. "One." The warrior spoke, in a solid tone.

Then the second, and the third of the buckets were hurled at him. Water hit hard in this cold room, and it clung to his fur like desperate mountaineers who would very much like a helicopter pick up right now before they fall to certain doom. Really, they've only got three fingers attached to the cliff. Except it was cold, and the mountaineers were droplets of water.

Wholly soaked in water, Arkahn now stood underneath the scrutinizing gaze of the formidable warrior, who made a single tour de force around the katta general. He then took position right in front of the cold warrior. He bended through his legs and raised his arms to extend his pose in such a manner that he formed a very cliche pose, with his hands raised up to the sky. Not in a worshipping manner, more in a slightly awkward letter-vorming manner. He could've been a construction worker, or some sort of law-enforcement officer. Possibly Navy.

However, it was obvious he was concentrating on something. Then, it was obvious, as the air began to grow colder, and the big katta began to shiver. The water still clinging to his mattled fur began to crack and glisten. He was getting frozen. The hairs on his body were getting hard and pointy, not to mention extremely cold. Arkahn was being subjected to some sort of test of endurance, by being frozen!

Arkahn's one eye followed the warrior's every move. As the first bucket of water hit him the Tigron closed his eye, clenching his jaws to prevent them from clacking together all the time as he was trembling in the coldness that spread through his body. He felt the drops of water running down his neck, sending shivers down his spine. A second splash of water hit the Katta, who was now breathing through his teeth, his fists clenched, his shoulders up in a reflex to keep him warm.

A third splash of water hit his body, the liquid feeling like cold as ice as it spread out through his fur and onto his skin. Shivering, ever muscle tensed and his teeth clamped together he opened his eye, seeing the warrior take up some strange position. Normally he might have laughed or found this situation amusing, but right now all he could think of was that horrible chill that spread through his muscles, his every fibre. His tale hung limp between his legs and Arkahn did not dare to move it, afraid it might fall off.

Suddenly another flash of coldness hit him and he could hear the water crack and glisten, freezing on his very body. It felt like his skin had started to shrink, as if it tried to bundle up together, as if someone was trying to pull out his furr all over his body at once. A muffled, shivering roar escaped from his clenched teeth as he panted to try and push out the pain. It didn't do him much good. The trick might have been good against minor inconvieniances like burns or small cuts, it didn't help against frozen skin and fur. Panting and trying not to break out in a full roar Arkahn stood still in the center of the room, unwilling to show the warrior in front of him any sign of weakness.

"Endure." The man said. "In Enduring grow strong." He then took the other bucket, the last one. He marched up to Arkahn, untill he was right in front of the tigron warrior.

"Hold this above your head untill I allow you to take it down." He presented the heavy bucket to Arkahn, with both hands. Once the Tigron had accepted it, he stood back. Somehow, it felt as if he wasn't going to allow Arkahn to take it down any time soon.

He started practicing his moves. Standing stoicly, moving his arms and legs around in circles, doing simple moves. Endlessly. This was certainly going to take awhile. But the worst thing was, that he did it soundlessly. He wasn't going to tell Arkahn to take the bucket down.

Arkahn stood shivering, his teeth still clenched together to keep them from rattling against eachother as his one eye followed the warrior's exact movement. He listened to the man's word, his ears twitching slightly, causing some of the ice on his head to break with a bit of a jingle. As the warrior held the bucket in front of him, Arkahn took a deep breath, putting out his chest to get rid of the frost before slowly moving his hands and arms foreward, causing some of the ice on his body to crack and break, falling down onto the cold floow.

His hands grabbed the bucket at the bottom side which felt almost as cold as ice as well. Swinging it up to gain a bit of momentum the Tigron pushed up the item, lifting it above his head, locking his elbows in place. His shoulders would take most of the weight now. The Tigrons breathed out slowly, a cloud of frost slowly drifted into the room.

Once Arkahn was in position his 'master', or at least, his master for now, ignored him totally, stepping back to start practicing his moves while Arkahn tried to endure the cold and the weight pressing on his shoulders. He still shivered as he felt how muscles started to feel like lead under the weight of the bucket. He needed to focus, not on his pain, not on the coldness and not on the weight of the bucket. His one eye gazed at the warrior, following his movements. Would he learn that too? It looked lethal enough, and being able to fight without a weapon would prove it's worth somehow. Enough to make him endure this at least. Anyway, he didn't have much choice. It was endure or die, and Arkahn felt he wasn't ready to die just yet.

"Good." The warrior spoke, after what seemed like an endless period. He had been practicing his moves endlessly, never doubling on any of his techniques. Never repeating anything. His plethora of techniques seemed endless, but eventually he relented and stopped. "Slowly lower bucket. You have passed endurance test. If still you wish to join us, dress in these -" the warrior held up a bundle of black looking clothing. "- and join next days practice. You sleep within this building's confines -we have barracks for warriors."

He took a step towards Arkahn. "After the bloodletting, that is." He produced a small dagger made of ice in his right hand. It was tiny, the blade about an inch or an inch and a half, long, tops. He seemed rather keen on using it, too, if the tone of his voice was to be believed.

At last. Finally Arkahn's torment had come to an end, finally he could put down the bucket which felt like lead to his arms. Sure, the work at the smithy back in Midpoint and his nearly constant training had made his arms stronger than those of the average soldier, and being a Tigron sure helped to, yet the blistering cold which ran through his body and the sheer length of the endurance had taken it's toll. Slowly the Tigron lowered his arms, bending through his knees slowly as he put the bucket on the col floor before rising to his full length again. He had passed and was now accepted into the ranks of Cryos. For a moment he wanted to reach out and take the clothes offered to him.

For a moment. The Tigron froze, having only moved a fraction. Bloodletting? His one eye gazed at the icy dagger in the man's hand. Sure, he had been stabbed, slashed, mauled and tortured, but never out of free will. Most of these things he had never seen coming anyway and there had been no anticipation to the pain. This time would be different. Slowly the Tirgon tried to regulate his breathing, trying to keep it calm and constant as he nodded at the man in front of him. The pain would pass, and if the tests were this hard, the rewards for the pain would be worth it. The Tigron spread his arms, holding out his hand on waist height, the palms turned towards the man, surrendering himself to the cold master's every will.

The warrior took the katta's arm and suddenly came to the realization that Tigrons were quite furry indeed. He took Arkahn's left arm within his powerful grip with his own left hand. He took the knife to Arkahn's left arm and using it sidesways he razored the hair away on Arkahn's left shoulder, in a region about two or three inches wide. He did this rather uncarefully, not taking care if he scratched the proud tigron or not.

Then, with the tip of the knife, he drew a pattern on his shoulder, cutting quite deep and letting the blood flow richly. With a careless wipe he made the spot worse, but his intentions were probably to make the area neat. Alas, being a man, he had little knowledge of how to clean things properly, which is totally normal and accepted.

Then he placed his hand against the intricate wound. He concentrated, hard and Arkahn felt something stiffen in his shoulder. His muscled protested, but within his arm, grew a seed of cold. An intricate seed of cold.

"Tomorrow, the class starts. Do not fail in coming in time." He said, waiting for Arkahn to leave to the barracks.
