~*| Lotus Garden of Delights |*~
Description:
A longstanding building woven into the fabric of Kemite culture itself, it is the pinnacle of contemporary Kemite cuisine taken to the highest level. Supplemented with an exquisite collection of art works, as well as a delightful Lotus Garden, the current Mistress has spared no expense in hiring one of the greatest Masters of Kemite Culture, a chef who delights in experimenting with new things, yet with a firm foundation in traditional cuisine. With steep prices and imposing reputation, it's usually frequented by nobility more often than not, and usually those of good standing.
Having seen countless restorations and expansions, the Lotus Garden is now a three-storey establishment with elaborate arching roof-tops and elegant architecture. It houses within a courtyard with a garden masterpiece, complete with water features and exotic flowers and other plants.
It has retained much of its origin as a family-run restaurant. The current Matron of the Family, Mistress Feng Shu Lan, is a graceful and petite Kemite who greets all her guests at the entrance of the compound to the restaurant. Her dutiful husband labours all hours of day as the head chef to maintain the reputation of the restaurant. Complementing them are their children: with three daughters and two sons who work at the restaurants as well in various tasks.
Goods & Services:
The Lotus Garden is one of the priciest establishment in town, and for good reasons. The Chef is a master of his art, constant creating new delights to tantalise the taste buds of his customers. No set menu are available, only what the Head Chef cares to churn out as the brightening special; each meal is a culinary adventure! Taking advantage of its reputation, they cater exclusively to the rich and famous, at hefty prices. Their fickle pricing scheme is based on how much appreciation the diner derives from eating there - it has been rumoured that a Governor once paid a premium price of 1000 crowns for one sitting! Each payment is recorded and displayed on the front hall, letting all of Telath know who have dined there and how much they have paid. This ingenuous entrepreneurial trick has been effective in the past of engineering feuding families to attempt to outdo each other in demonstrating their wealth and social standing by bequeathing substantial sums of payment for food.
Apart from the Culinary artworks available, visitors are able to graze on food while admiring the masterpiece of a garden housed in the centre of the building. With a central water feature and artificial rivulets lined with elegantly groomed exotic trees and flowers, it is truly a sight to behold. The calm and peaceful atmosphere here is another drawcard for the famous establishment, the hideaway in the bustling city for the rich and famous to relax and butt heads.
Given the prestigous nature of the Lotus Garden, diners are expected to comply to formal wear when in attendance.
