[The Suggestion Box] Zinn'Sunn - What would you like to see?
Here's a brand spanking new Suggestion Box for Zinn'Sunn. Let me know if anyone has any ideas or concerns.

No concerns really.
I remember Zinn Sunn being an arcana center of sorts. If I wanted to train Sorcery or Elementalism here, would it be possible under your tutelege?
I know... you probably just -love- rping training threads *laughs*
Do you prefer if I self-moderated those?
EDIT: Didn't read your OOC thread, so you can ignore this. Not too sure if Arcana is appropriate in Zinn Sunn =P

Yes, Arcana is very much appropriate. Sorcery is definitely available. I need to do some research to find out if Elementalism was ever taught here though. I can't find anything on it initially. I doubt it was, and if thats the case we might not offer it. However, Zinn'Sunn has a long history of being arcana friendly. In fact, there are periods in its history where mages ran the entire government and weapons were disallowed in the city. Aka, they were checked at the gates. This didn't last, and won't be carried into the future. But its still noteworthy that Arcana is VERY accepted.

There was a time, when my PC, Sitandria was young in the Aelyria world and lived in Zinn'Sunn, when she entered an Arcana School. It had four spears with four houses (I think the mod at the time was really into HP... ). I remember there was Sorcery, Elem, Mysticism and Ikos.
Here is the main link: Acadamy - Notice to Potential Students. If you'll find the description of the dorm and the four houses, you'll fall... It was great but I guess it's copy-writed or something like that.
About the history, You probably found my version of it in Labyrinth's thread here.

Thanks Josephine. I was going to ask you about that because I saw your PC kicking about back then. Do you know where they listed Elementalism? And just so I get this right, wasn't Song taught in the Music Academy and not the Arcanic one? I assume they two different things, but maybe they aren't? Its confusing because the old subforum was called The Music Academy, yet the description said 'no arcana taught here, only traditional music' yet half the forum was 'Initiate Song' etc.
So.. is the Zinn'Sunn Academy and the Musical Academy seperate? I'd imagine it is... but the way they are laid out is terrible and the names confusing. I might have to change or tweak the names to eliminate this problem in the future.
Also, I saw your history! I'm already using part of it (with credits) in the new city bones I'm getting prepared. I hope you don't mind.

The four spheres I was talking about where in the city before the attack (see history). About Elementalist, you could also check this thread where they list all the spheres at that time - includes Elementalism. This Academy was called the Zinn'Sunn Academy and, until the undead battle, they also teach weapon training with the Vanguard. The Sign Language Academy was also around this time.
After the attack and the rebuilding of the city, the Zinn'Sunn's academy was revamped to teach Sorcery and Ikos (plus they added Song, that wasn't before and Elementalism was no more). They moved Mysticism to a new Academy. All this is written in history, but I couldn't find many threads related. This part was given by PCs that were at the city at this point. We do have the Zinn'Sunn Music Academy and the Sunn Monestary of Ataa.
Then there was a fire (see history) and the new mod really made Zinn'Sunn more Kemite's related. In terms of Arcana, the Zinn’Sunn Academy of Music and Culture teach only Song. The Sunn Monastery is still here.
The thread that was the base for the history Labyrinth had quoted, was made from this thread. As you could see, Honets was a great contributer to it and I only summarized it all. I think he should be given a credit because I only summarized it all.

dunno of this is the right place to post this but it seems to me that having more Cavalry militia than infantry doesn't look right, not that there are too many cavalry men simply that there is a lack of infantry maybe adding some archers would be good since their duty is to defend the city

Eyvind, the point is they are a horse culture. I have a lower number of 'infantry' because they are simply city watch. They don't have 'infantry' at all per say as a city. See where I'm going with this?

well, Browsing, I see are three major houses in the dragon clan. To stick with the eastern theme, I tend to think four should exist.
I'd also love to see fairly detailed info on said houses. Why are they 'major' houses, what ones compete against each other, how do they compete, are their minor houses(if so preferably four as well.) Examples would be say one house focuses on the magical studies, another mercantile, another arts, that sort of things. Just lots and lots of detail. I could go on with ideas and the like, but will save to much rambling for another time.
and as I'd love to see in any other city.. the economic side of things. What does the city produce, whats it sell, etc. What trades are encouraged or respected in the city, is it traditional, what sort of tradition, etc
but yeah, those are my two main ones

Dim- Why four? Just curious. And I have pre-existing fairly large writeups on each house. I just haven't gotten around to posting them yet. Give me a bit of time! As for the economic things... I'm knee deep in that in realmcraft right now. Its just going so because I'm trying to finish up Prime things, and doing a ton of PC posting.

A breakthrough in cultural descriptions and insights detailing an oriental tradition that could rival the cultural longevity of Jaedaxia or Syl’rosya.
