Barracks of the New Coldmoon Legion
The barracks of the prestigious New Coldmoon Legion, situated not far from the Legion's recruitment center, the Martial Academy, served as the home of the majority of the Legion's members, most notably those of low rank and prestige. They were a series of low, wooden buildings, all nondescript save for the New Coldmoon flags flying high above their entrances. Each had a sign beside its door that explained who was designated to live within; the barracks' denizens ranged from new recruits to high-ranking officers.
Nestled in between these buildings was a larger, more distinguishable building decorated with the colors of the Legion; as any soldier would well know, it served as the mess hall and recreation area, as well as the favored meeting spot of New Coldmoon Legion soldiers. This popular locale contained both the expansive cafeteria of the barracks compound and several gamerooms and meeting areas of varying sizes. Fortunately, the waiters and waitresses of the mess hall had no qualms against bringing food to all parts of the building, so a soldier could always expect to eat, drink, and relax while within its walls. It was certainly the location where most soldiers generally wished to spend what little free time they had.
Upon entering any of the barracks, one would be greeted by a soldier of the same rank as that designated on the building's sign, who served as the overseer of that particular building. If one had questions, these overseers would be able to answer them.

Medea had arrived back at her accommodation within the Barracks having returned from witnessing the events within the city's main square from the previous night's Storm. She still could not believe such activities had taken place within her own city. How wrongly had she judged the citizens of New Coldmoon.
Her inquiries within the Barracks and the Academy had shown a definitive support for the events that had brought about the demise of the city's administrative government. Apart from the General and a few others apparently. Her friend Gammon had fled in the night with a few select others. Now she too was following the senior officer's path.
Stripping her uniform from her body she redressed in her Ranger's attire. She would have no need of the uniform now and wished to just melt into the wilderness. It did not take long for her to pack her few belongings into her travelling pack. She only ever owned what she could carry upon her back. And thus, with a final glance around the room, she bade her home for the past era farewell. She had a few friends to visit first to pass on her wishes but she planned to be upon the forest trails before dusk.

There was only one person in the barracks at the time of Medea's heavy-hearted desicion to depart. She was random private, a few years younger than Medea, and much weaker in build. She sat on her cot in a crosslegged position, from the corner of the barrack, looking on from the shadows as a faceless onlooker should.
Her name was Prstyne, a fresh private, and supporter of the revolution, though not the revolution's aftermath. She had never personally met Medea, save for a few chance glimpses in and around the city, though she had heard of her, as had most people in New Coldmoon. To her, Medea was a hero; a brave, valiant soldier that deserved her respect. And she had it. But, they were oddly similiar. Prstyne has also been in awe at the chaos that had unfolded in the last few minutes, hours, and brightenings, and had even considered deserting. She had not the courage, however, to leave her beloved city. She still had hopes that things would improve in the coming cycles.
Watching Medea finally leave through the doors of the barracks, the young elf whispered to winds in admiration.
"Goodbye, Corporal Medea Lightfoot, hero of New Coldmoon. May we see your return soon."
OOC: I've no intention of prolonging your stay in New Coldmoon. But I think you should at least be sent off with the best of wishes.

OOC: I still have Frodera's and the Execution threads to complete before departure. This is purely departing the Barracks. I will depart New Coldmoon proper in a thread yet to be created by Oswald as Medea needs to see him before her leaving. I toyed with visiting Oscar and Aurobolis, in the Aedile's and Bank, however, as Altair is no longer running them I didn't bother as I don't think the new AGMs will have any knowledge of Medea's relationship with either.
IC: Changed and ready to depart the military establishment for the final time Medea rued whether she would ever return to the place. Not only the Legion Barracks but the whole city had become her home and it pained her to depart. Yet her world had fallen apart overnight and she could not bare to witness any further the decay of her adopted home. Only a few brightenings earlier she had been planning to throw a party for all her friends and colleagues to celebrate both her promotion and her first era in the city.
As she headed for the exit she observed that she had not been alone in the accommodation lines. Another female, a private as she herself had been only a few brightening's previously, regarded her as she began her departure. Nodding a greeting to the Guard, Medea thought she caught her saying something as she left.
"Corporal no more !" Medea herself whispered. It had been the shortest of promotions she mused. At least now her military career would not stand in the way of her Ranger ambition's. Out upon the streets of the city that she could no longer call her own Medea searched for her first friend to bid a farewell to. She only hoped that he had survived the previous night's terrors.
