Gaining Power (Mirage)
Drevmal was used to being thrown out of pubs. He drank to much gambled to much and annoyed to many people. On this particular night he had not been able to pay his bar tab and so was thrown out. However this had not been before he had made a particular comment about someones mother they did not find funny.
So it came to pas that this night he was thrown out after being beaten by the insulted person and four of his best mates. He was thrown out bleeding and sore. As they slammed the door shut he rose up slowly and turned to face the door. Now if the insulted man had beaten Drevmal up himself he wouldn't be so enraged. However the fact that he had used his friends infuriated him, the worm wouldn't even face him in open combat.
This was not the first time this had happened and he was starting to get sick annoyed with the weak headed fools who did not understand the true meaning and honor of a fair fight.
"My lord" he thought to himself "If i was stronger I would walts in there and make them pay, I would make all those with no honor pay"
With thinking that he walked out into the cold looking for a sheltered place to sleep, perhaps tommorow he would look for a way to get revenge, maybe he should head to the library surely a book or a scholar there would know a way to give him power.
While thinking this he found a nice sheltered bridge to sleep under, and with thought of power drifted of to sleep...

There were many ways to attain power ... the Gift of the Empire always catered to those souls whose desires made her grander, more magnificient. This was how the Fates played in Jaedaxia. Above the towering castle peaks and beautiful architecture lurked a darkness beyond anyone's imagination. And all it took was blood fueled by hatred to gain her attention. On the darkening when a fairly large dwarf was tossed out of yet another tavern, two amber eyes watched him scoff, swear, and whine until he was back on his feet. He trotted on, in the cold, looking for shelter.
And as he did, he alwasy wandered farther from the light. Where noise was, silence was absence; and only in a muted alleyway did Drevmal find himself more tired and less sober than he liked. His vision was a haze of shadow and his thick hands struggled to keep him afloat while his stomach churned and threatened to spill. Regardless of these hindrances, the dwarf pushed on. He needed some place dry, some place relatively warm for the darkening. Those who slept in the open often found themselves in the Halls of the Death before the first ray of Suns Light touched their cold skin again.
Whether he planned it or not, the ex-mercenary was closer to Freeport and so it wasn't too difficult to head southbound (again, he wasn't aware of this) until he wandered upon the lesser known districts of Jaedaxia. The rich and royal stayed in one place after all, old money they called themselves; and the poorer of the bunch, even the working poor, remained in their desolate homes, some with half a roof, others even less. Drevmal stumbled into one of these dwellings, an abandoned hovel without a door. Overhead he could see the stars between the cracks of the roofs. But it was dry, and it would suffice as shelter.
For now.

Drevmal woke in the morning still fuming at last night's ridicule. He looked out at the sky through the cracks in the roof while laying on his back for a while. He silently contemplated if it was worth the effort to do what he had planned last night.
He left the ruined building that had served as his home for the night intent on getting to the library, or to someone who knew how to solve his dilema. As he was in a section of town he did not know very well (and he had nomemory of getting here) he would have to ask people.
With thoughts of power and revenge he set of to ask people directions to someone who could help him...

The day was cold. The suns rose and as Drevmal searched the city he could smell food coming from a corner stall. He would realize that he hadn't eaten yet today. The man at the stall was crying out to the people "Come! Try some of my delicious pastries!" He seemed to have a customer already.
People bustled and shoved by Drevmal. If Drevmal was claustrophobic he might start to feel a bit suffocated. It was then a breeze blew through the city causing people to clutch there there hands together and hurry more quickly to there destinations.
The pastry man was still calling out to people but few seemed to listen now. Hurrying to there homes the ignored Drevmal's attempts to get there attention.

Drevmal continued to walk and ask, getting more and more annoyed as the people ignored him. These would be more people to add to his revenge pile, he thought to himself. Eventually he gave in and asked the one person he had feared to ask..... the pastry seller. Getting his coins ready he headed over, the seller would not let him leave without buying something whether he got the information he needed or not.Walking up to the seller he talked "Serale sir i have two matters to disscuss with you first of all i would like a plain pastry and secondarily do you know the way to the library or someone who could help me" he said this and then saw the mans questioning expression and decided to elaborate "I require knowlege of a way to gain power that would make me stand above the normal man a way of writing worngs that have been done to me, i have been asking the people around here but none seem to want to help me" with that he waited for any information the man could give him...

The man smiled at his newcustomer and placed a pastry on the counter. "Apple turn over. Three crowns a piece, An excellent bargain." He swooped and grabbed three crowns from Drevmal giving him the pastry. The man obviously didn't actually care wether or not Drevmal wanted a pastry, he seemed more interested in the money.
If Drevmal tried the apple turn over he would find it was above average but not fantastic. Unless he liked them, although that was a personal opnion. The pastry seller stopped halfway through his cry of pastries for sale and looked down at Drevmal upon his next words. He tapped the edge of the pastry cart and said "How do I know I can trust you?" He looked at Drevmal suspiciously. His hand was out slightly and open as if he was expecting something.
The second customer left a few seconds after Drevmal's arrival so they were afforded a small amount of privacy. The pastry maker's face was suspicious and almost accusatory. His other hand was at behind the counter and Drevmal couldn't see what he was doing.

He looked at the pastry seller and took one step back raising his hands in the sign of 'no trouble' and shrugged, "It all depends on how you view certain things in life since you are obviously a bussiness man i shall say this in terms you understand" he paused for a second to take a bite of his pastry, apple turnover, meh.
He then adressed the man again "You are an honest man trying to make and honest bussiness but what does it feel like if someone shortchanges you? Or say someone steals from you do you want justice served to them? This is simply what i want i want power to right a wrong but if you are suspicious i shall leave"...

The pastry seller scrutinized Drevmal closely. After a second or two he leaned over the counter and handed Drevmal a slip of paper. "Go to this location within the next candlemark and we'll see if you have what it takes..." He smiled a slightly nasty smile. Then the moment was over and the pastry seller seamed to go back to being a normal pastry seller. He cried out his wares and served customer's. He also shooed off Drevmal after a few seconds.
If Drevmal were too open the note he would see the following written on it.
Abandoned warehouse, Merchent's Row.
16th warehouse of the left side.
This Brightening, 16th candlemark
The note was brief. It seemed to be an address and time. For what however was not listed nor seen anywhere on the note. It was written in black ink and the hand writing was clear and precise.
If Drevmal were to go to where the address was he would see a small warehouse that was scrunched between larger ones on each side. The roof was starting to collapse inward and the entire place looked pretty shabby. The doors were still intact however and were closed tight. There didn't seem to be anyway to get into the warehouse.

After taking all the information in about this small warehouse he found a nearby alley where he could sit and watch until the 16th candlemark came around...

The suns rose higher in the sky and the 16th candlemark came. The crowds were starting to thin by now. As Drevmal watched he sat a small man walked to the side of the warehouse and pull out a key. Unlocking the door he entered quickly. The door did not shut completely behind him. Whether by accident or on purpose was for Drevmal too decide.
Enter or stay away it was up to Drevmal to decide.

This must be what the pastry seller wanted him to se and go along with and so without much hesitation at all, bu with his weapon drawn, he walked through the slightly ajar door, leaving it ajar once again, to let in some light and called "Hello? is anyone here?...

The door opened to a single room It took up most of the warehouse exccept for the northern most side which had a door set it in. The ceiling was around fifteen feet in height. The floor sloped downward and ended in a cut out ditch around eight feet deep and twenty by twenty in size. A large mound of dirt around eight feet in diameter was in the middle of the ditch stretching nearly ten feet in height.
As Drevmal walked inhowever he only got a glimpse of all this before he bumped into a rather large orc. He stood there arms crossed and said "This invite only. You have invite?" He sounded and looked a lot like a bouncer.

When Drevmal bumped into the orc he was only mildly surprised. With the ask of an invite he handed the piece of paper he had gotten from the pastry seller without saying a word and continued to look around alert for signs of a trap...

The orc took the piece of paper and held it in front of his face. With the other hand he took a second piece of paper out and held it next to the first. After maybe a minute he grunted. "Yes, that right. You here as con... cont... or, fighter? Or spec... spes... or watcher?" It was clear the orc was nearly uneducated. And probably slow witted. But by the size of his muscles what he lacked for brains he most likely made up for with brawn.
If Drevmal said watcher he would be told to sit on the slowly declining slope. If he said fighter however he would be told to go through the door and wait.

"I am not quite sure what i should do here, what does the watcher involve and what does the fighter involve"? Drevmal didn't expect to get an answer from this ork but it was worth a shot anyway...
