[Aedile's Office] It's all business
Timestamp: 38th of Kalendryas in Winter, Era XIV Post Fractum
Elegia stepped in to the Aedile's Office. It was still early in the morning and they had just opened the doors. Nobody else was there yet, it seemed to be one of those days that people just weren't interested of property, at least not in the morning.
She had come to Jaedaxia to work only briefly, but since she had seen the city and realised it might give her oppoturnities business-wise, she was considering staying there. Right now she was going to find out if there were any properties she could reserve until she found a businesspartner.
The courtesan lowered the hood of her cloak and looked around to see if there was someone who could help her.
Some shuffling of papers was to be heard from the back rooms and the courtesan walked up to the desk and coughed twice to make herself noticed.

A furry, brown Mousai skittered by when the courtesan arrived. She glanced up once, round brown eyes widening, then scurried out of the way again behind a series of tables, desks, and ceiling high shelves filled with official looking documents. For a moment, Elegia stood there as if abandoned before the sound of tiny nails against polished hardwood floors came again. Within moments, the wide-eyed Mousai reappeared in front of the woman. She cleared her throat.
"The Senior Aedile will see you now, madamoiselle" she said weakly, her voice just above a human-level whisper "hurry hurry she doesn't like to wait!" And with that, she skittered away again, this time reappearing behind a small table near the opposite corner of the Aedile Offices.
The Senior Aedile's desk was situated (seemingly) as far as possible from her mousai counterpart. The snow wite tigroness was covered with a beautifully intricate pattern of black stripes that only the purest of her 'elite' kind could boast. She purred lightly when Elegia approached her table, then she nodded before passing her paws in the air to motion at an empty chair. "Please, sit" she said in low tones, almost a growl "what business do you have, hmm?"

Elegia walked swiftly to the Senior Aedile who turned out to be a dazzling tigroness beauty. Elegia smiled at her politely and sat down when she was asked to.
"Serale, Senior Aedile." she said politely, "I am looking for some property for a business I'm opening. I was thinking about Jaedaxia but since I have only been here for a few brightenings I don't know about the city enough to even know whereabouts I would prefer the property to be."
She smiled and explained: "I am opening a gentlemen's club of a sorts, a very high end club and I would need suitable quarters for all that is included..." she said, trying to see how much detail she could use without offending the katta, after all she was female and you never knew how someone would take her line of business.

"I see", the tigroness replied stiffly. Without pause, she started to filck open inkpots and align a set of three distinguished quills beside her while, with another paw, she drew up several sheets of parchment. "I do not deal with business licenses. That is for the Chambre du Commerce." She allowed herself a thin, toothy smile before she added "but I have an assortment of properties available for you. Where in the city did you want this club to be?"
When Elegia gave her response, the tigroness voiced her obviously prepared suggestion: "The Southern Quarter is a very ... elite place. Depending on the gentlemen you are hoping to entice, perhaps a place closer to La Range would suit your endeavors better?" Behind her was a picture map of the city. It showed the various districts, major landmarks, and of course some of the surrounding territory. She pointed lightly at the top portion of the map and indicated it to be 'La Range'. "Or Merchant's Row" she offered.
"This is where most of the shoppes are. A commercial tip, you could say, of the city. There are some available space here ... but not large enough to house more than five or six occupants. And by occupants, I mean these gentlemen; and by house I mean private rooms." She flicked her paw effortless toward a fire red quill and dipped it into a nearby inkpot. Then, without waiting for Elegia to speak, she began to draft the first few lines of a formal property document between them.

Elegia noted the tone of the tigroness' voice but couldn't quite decipher its meaning. But then again, kattas were rarely easily readable anyways.
"I am hoping to attract mostly the wealthy, sophisticated clients. But since there aren't enough of those, I think we can rule out the Southern Quarter." Elegia looked carefully at the map.
"Is there anything in between the Merchant's Row and the Freeport area?" she asked, pointing at the map.
"You see I will still have to finalize some of the funding, but if there is a suitable place I would like to reserve a space anyway. This is just a matter of time and I have already began to look for some staff." she then seemed to realise something, "Oh, some 5 rooms would be enough, but I would also like there to be a kitchen, a dining space, a small one would do, and a large other room that could serve as a combined library, bar and whatnot. Also, an office space, maybe an extra room, would be great." she smiled at the Aedile.

The tigroness contemplated Elegia's comment before she swiftly pointed at a spot that was not too far from either Freeport or the Merchant's Row. "Still commercial area" she said briefly "decent spot. Four rooms only though on the second floor; but the first floor was previously a cafe of sorts. So it has ample space, including a living room, a spacious office, kitchen, and bath."
"This one stands at 3,000 crowns. If you want to 'reserve' it as you say, there is small fee for that. We cannot hold it any longer than 90 brightenings however." She smiled, though not mockingly. Perhaps she was just proud of having the power to buy and sell property in Jaedaxia. With a snowy paw she continued to make out a template for a deed while keeping her keen senses focused on Elegia.
