Interaction Reaction? (Open)
Timestamp: 47th of Melora, Season of Winter, Era 1 of the Celestial Mandate, Era XV PF
It has been some time since Pescado had managed to hang around anyone, and he decided that the perfect thing to do would be to hit up the local Tavern. Since he had never really had a chance to relax after freeing the people of his mound, now it was time for a bit of relaxation.
So, moving ever so slowly on two feet, and being a bit sluggish as it was a bit chilly outside, he went to a local tavern, and opened the door. As he did, he would enter, and take a seat without ordering anything. Perhaps it was time to just sit back, listen to the tavern voices, and see if he couldn't interact with anyone that might wish to interact with a seven foot tall saurid that had a metallic tail, and a taste for the minds of others...

Drevmal was a tall dwarf nearly as tall as the average human and built like a fortress. His heavy armour shone in the light of the tavern as he entered and was greeted by the familiar sights and smells. The smell of wine and the sound of music. Drunks lounged around on tables and rosy cheeked maidens swayed their hips to the music.
The tavern was unusually crowded and there was was only one free spot. Drevmal nearly had a heart attack at the being that was sitting at the opposite chair of the free table. A gaint (possibly 7 foot) lizard in clothes. Drevmal quikly took control of himself and walked over to this large lizard.
"hello friend my name is Drevmal may i have this seat"...

As the saurid listened to the small quartet play, he was greeted by the unlikeliest of people. It was an extremely tall dwarf, one that he was not so sure would make a great mind meal of, but then again, he didn't feel like absorbing the mind of anyone when his Vis reserves were already full. So he sat back a bit, adjusted himself and his metallic tail, and looked up towards the dwarf named Drevmal. "Yesssss, you may have a ssssseat... My name issssss Pessssscado Branch..." he said, and then wondered what exactly the dwarf's deal was, but decided to let him be the one to ask the questions first...

A tad dejected with the way life was going, the young woman moved about the city with an absent mind. Her red cloak flapping absently as she walked, a soft hum emanating from the deep hood. Her job situation had yet to improve and it had been nearly an entire season!
Pushing the door open of the local tavern, Kel'tha had decided to treat herself to a filling meal. Pushing the door with a light, but strong touch, her dark golden eyes flicked about the patrons of the tavern as she stepped forward, the floorboard creaking lightly underfoot. Walking to the bar, her hidden ears picked up an odd accent, an emphasis on the 's'. Turning her head slowly, still hidden in the dark red hood, Kel'tha watched the rather tall dwarf introduce himself and take a seat.
Eyes flicked over the drink choice again, with an small sniff she turned away, the waitress giving her an odd look as she pushed the hood back, revealing her angled face. Her skin was flawless, she was a golden statue, surrounded by a blanket of mist, the Human heritage making her grey skin oddly gold. Death was often how the white haired woman was described, her eyes, actually tainted gold, not natural in the least. The red headband hid her double pointed ears easily, but not so much that she couldn't hear. Should either look her way, being only a table or so from the mismatched pair, she would give a kind nod, and a flashing smile.

As the elf entered, Pescado did not notice her as quickly as she might have hoped. He was still too busy focusing upon the dwarf that was infront of him. But when she took off her hood, and gave them a smile and a nod, he noticed her. Now an elf is looking in my direction, he thought. Am i really that out of place? It was obvious that he was, since his tail was metallic, and not many people see saurids around, since there didn't happen to be many of them.
As it was that he was out of place, he always seemed to draw the strangest kind of attention. Might as well invite her over. Looking upwards towards her, he waved his hand, and asked, "Might you wissssssh to join my dwarven companion and me at thisssss table?" His tone of voice was very human, but at the same time, he spoke with a saurid dialect, that made it obvious he had a split tongue, like all saurids. But he was well enough versed in human affairs, having been a former governor and leader of a city, that he could easily have been passed off as human if he created an illusion that he looked like one...

Drevmal too did not see the elf as she came in and neither did he see her when she took her hood of as he was sitting down at that point. He did not see her until Pescado invited her to join them. She did not come imediatly and Drevmal decided to reinforce the invite "Yes please come and join us, i dont think this group can get any more mismatched anyway" he said this with a laughing tone in his voice. He watched as the elf contemplated the offer and thought to himself 'this is going to be an interesting night'...

Contemplate is indeed what she did, but only for a moment or two. With a small smile, she gathered her red cloak about her and wove past the chairs, taking one with her back now to the door. The red garment slipped from her shoulders to fold over the back of her seat. Folding her slender hands over one another on the table top, she flicked between the two.
The Saurid spoke so clearly, Kel'tha wondered how friendly with the 'softskin' races he really was. The curiosity didn't show in her eyes though, they weren't hers. The dwarf was another story, closer to her height than he should be, she could tell that from sitting beside him. Mismatched indeed.
"Thank you for your invitation. Its not often I get to engage in conversation with such a...varied group." Her voice was melodic, the Jaedaxian accent singing to the surface. Her pronunciations were more elven, making for a delicious accent many would die to have. So she thought anyways.

"Welcome my name is Drevmal and as you can see i am a dwarf". Drevmal said this with a slightly mocking formality that he new sounded corny. A moment later a waitress came over and gave Drevmal the alcohol selection. He noticed they had dwarven ale and ordered a glass. "As to my job i am a recently retired mercanary enjoying the easy life" as he said this he settled into his chair more and rocked back slightly.
Drevmal was indeed a retired mercanary, and quite a good one who had made a fair amount of money. He had retired when a person he was hired to kill gave a particually moving speech that made him re-consider his life. Many days he reflected on how stupid it was that he was won over in that fashion but has never gone back to the mercanary life.
"Now what are two distinct individuals such as yourself doing in a tavern such as this, and what" he said turning to the woman sitting with them "is your name"...

The saurid sat there for a moment, and then looked towards the elven woman, curious as to what she was all about. The same with the dwarf. He tended to dislike softskins at some point, but all and all he had to learn to live with them if he was ever going to get anywheres. He could always go back to his mounds, which he was the leader of, and continue to take care of them, but he'd rather not return until he was much stronger. Stronger in Mysticism, and his spearwielding technique. He still wished to prove to everyone that he was worthy of being a leader of the mound, even if he had one it by his honor.
Looking towards the dwarf, he prepared to answer the question at hand. What exactly was he doing in the Tavern? He had come in and just sat at a table to observe the sights, as well as to see if there was anyone worthy of having their mind devoured. That little tid bit he'd leave out though. Already having fourteen minds within his own mind was pushing it, and he needed to develop the techniques or a spell that would compartmentalize the minds he devoured. "I jusssssst came in to obssssserve the people of thisssss tavern... more of a break from my normal activitiesssss..." he said in response to the dwarf's query...

Listening to the conversation put the human hybrid on edge. The dwarf was overly keen, and the Saurid too secretive. She was sure both attitudes were needed for survival in this world. Still it didn't ease her mind. Ordering a coffee, Kel'tha sat back in her chair, dark gold eyes scanning them both quickly.
"I am Kel'tha Raveti" She replied simply, taking the coffee as it arrived and sipping at the hot liquid. She wasn't one to drink and especially not in strange company.

Lurvark Shelp entered the tavern and scanned the area. It was a day off for him, no work to do, no people to hustle, no ship to steal. Life was quite boring at the moment.
His eyes lay on the elf for a moment, he could have sworn he saw her before, a long time ago when he first came to the city.
He frowned, wasn't he in a brawl of sorts when she was around. He could not recall.
He moved closer and was surprised when the dwarf and the giant lizard came into view. His frown quickly became a grin, another scaled being.
"Hail!" he exclaimed as he pulled up a chair uninvited. "I be Lurvark Shelp, and who and what be you great scaled one!" he inquired completely disregarding the other two. He was a selfish merman who got what he wanted regardless of anyone elses desires or feelings, and at that moment he wanted to converse with the scaled one.

Drevmal was sipping his drink when another person joined their table. Unlike himself and the elf he was not invited and merely sat himself down. He did not sit himself down nicely either he sat down with his back turned to himself and the elf completely shutting them out of any conversation. The stranger the procceeded to talk in a loud anoying fashion that cut them out of the conversation.
Now usually Drevmal was not easiliy annoyed but this upstart had quite easily done just that. The man was either very brave or very stupid to insult a dwarf with a greataxe and body armour on and he wondered if the Pescado was also anoyed (he believed he was).
He planted his hand on the strangers shoulder and spun him and the chair around. "Excuse me friend not only was it rude to cut me out of a conversation with my new accuantance but you have also cut out this fair maiden" he said this and waved a hand at her "I do not care whether you appologize to me or not as I am used to your type but im sure both my friends here would like one" as he said this his right hand crept to his greataxe behind his chair...

Unlike the others who had gathered at this tavern recently, Janis Windrough had gotten a head start on his night. Yes, Janis was a tavern goer. Not as much as he once was, no not at all. Janis was at a certain time and place a little too over-indulgent of the tavern scene. He had since cut down his use of the facilities in order to get "socially lubricated" (not that Janis needed social lubrication) however this did not mean that when he did partake in a night at the Tavern he forgot how to have a good time.
A large laugh escaped Janis, who sat at the bar a few feet away from the table. Janis was not totally drunk be he was certainly happy. One of his "tavern friends," as Janis liked to call them had just finished a rousing story about a trip into the woods with what he thought was a fair maiden. One doesn't need to know the whole story but the finishing line of "hey thats not my wife, it's a nymph" was good enough to get a hardy chuckle out of Janis. Something anyone in the already bustling Tavern certainly would have heard.
As Janis polished off his most recent pint of ale and his laughter subsided he partook in a new pint and spun his chair around to observe the scene. Ah how Janis loved the tavern life. Such diverse people's coming together for drink, food and fun. People were the things Janis lived for. He loved to help them, he loved to be around them and he loved to meet them. This is the only way Janis could justify his fondness of cities being a druid and all. A quite life in a shack in a forest has it's own appeal but there generally no bustling taverns in the middle of the forrest.
Ah, right here, a perfect display of diversity all at one table. A Saurid, a rather tall dwarf, a half elf and...well something else. Janis didn't have much experience with the mer people so he wouldn't exactly recognize one right off the bat. Luckily, Janis's love of people allowed him to be free of any prejudices that normally ran though the empire. Every race, and for that matter, every person had a clean slate when they firs met Janis. Anyway, Janis smiled at the wonderfulness of the scene. Four very different people, sitting, chatting, conversing and...reaching for axes?
Uh oh...that last one just didn't fit the bill for what Janis described as a good night. People getting bludgeoned by an oversized dwarf was pretty much the exact recipe for a "buzzkill." Janis had seen and even thrown a punch or two in a couple bar fights but his short time at a Tavern manager in Imperia had taught him how to control some of these situations as well. Not to mention Janis was an expert Tavern goer.
Quickly up onto his feet, wiping off his mouth and listening in to the harsh words of the dwarf, but choosing to ignore them Janis walked up and put his arm, in the friendliest way possible around the merman's shoulder. "Alas, what brings me the good fortune of having such good company here in this littler tavern tonight!" Janis glanced around the bunch with a big smile and tried to judge the feelings of the merman. If he was getting ticked off Janis would remove the arm and continue his little speech to diffuse the situation. He wasn't about to get sucker punched by some guy he didn't even know.
"Ah good sir Dwarf, I've fought along side the dwarves! Long Live the dwarfs. The name is Janis Windrough, friend and adventurer! You sir, fine stately Saurid! Long Live you good sir! And you, pretty maiden fair, long live you darling!" Janis figured praise for all would be a good way to get everyone's mood up. Who couldn't toast to themselves? "And lastly you sir...long live...YOU!" Once again Janis wasn't quite sure what to call the merman so he placed special emphasis on the you and raised his glass and took a long swig.
Now he needed to make sure that dwarf didn't start hacking away. Hopefully the mood had been cheered up a little bit by the toast Janis had proclaimed. "You sir Dwarf, your people are fond of good drink and good company...lead us in a song! A good drinking song!" He said this last part aloud to try and garner the attention of some of the other patrons to the scene. Janis then started rocking back and forth humming a non descript melody to get things started. "Come good sir dwarf, sing us a verse and a chorus and we shall all join in!"
Janis loved to have a good time...yes he did, and by spreading that good time around, hopefully he could avoid a brawl.

Softskins, the lot of them, something the saurid was starting to hate more and more. His mentality had been to come to the tavern, and see if there were any good or decent minds to absorb afterwards, but apparently with this crowd, there seemed to not be any. As the Kel introduced herself, Pescado nodded, and then said, "It isssss nicsssse to meet you Kel, I am Pessssscado Branch, or Yuthak, whichever you prefer to call me, and thissssss dwarf i met isssss named Drevmal..." Adjusting himself in his seat a bit, the metal tailed saurid would look around, and then suddenly be surprised by a... Merman?!?!
Scaled was not the word for it, although they both might be scaled, the saurid certainly wasn't about to call the merman anything other than a softskin, as his scales were softer than the saurids hard leathery ones. This is just great! he thought even more, a pleasant time at a bar ruined by a loudmouth merman, but oh well, might as well play along with it. It was then that he saw the dwarf reaching for his Axe. Not a good thing by anymeans. getting hacked up in a tavern while trying to have a good time would be one of the last things Pescado wanted to see.
The one final person joined the crowd, before Pescado could even say anything. Almost startled by his appearance, if and when a saurid EVER got startled, Pescado would have grinned if given the ability too by his physique. Letting out a large hissing laugh at the man whom was apparently praising all of them, he the asked, "And long live you sssssstranger... What might your name be?" Introductions were always good, and a good bar conversation with a stranger as happy as him was never a bad thing. As much as the saurid was hating softskins, this was one he could learn to like, a drunken one that was trying to help, and would probably get hacked up for doing so. Perhaps he could get to know this one and the elf a little better than the others, granted the elf herself seemed to be a quiet one...

A solitary, green-leafed plant sat in the corner, watching the interactions.
It was the type of thing that could cause paranoia. Was it just a plant, or was something not quite right?
Quietly, the plant hiccoughed. Not in a way that anyone would notice. But just to itself.
Even more quietly, the plant returned to sitting still.
