1st Brightening of Kalendryas, Winter Era XV

Veleraen had woken up from his slumber a few darkenings before and had talked to Captain Moran about everything that had happened while he was here. Apparently the Giant, after having his heart assaulted by a Lich had caused him to pass out; for two cycles....

It was something the Giant couldn't completely wrap his hand around however the rewards of such an experience were beyond what he had imagined. Not only had the healers taken care of him, but the Vampires within Chateau Noir were gone and the city was at peace once more.

The Knight also carried his own rewards on his body and in his hands. The armour he now wore bore a ruby-like breastplate in the form of a triangle, as it had been transformed during his 'divine experience' against the Lich. The holy fire had ignited from his body and had forged some sort of breastplate that he'd never seen before. It was truly amazing what had happened to him, but besides the armour upgrade and the enchantments done upon his weapon, Veleraen had almost forgotten someone.

Having left Zinn'Sunn quite hastily, Veleraen had forgotten about a special person, a good friend he had met during his stay there. Now that he was returning, guilt was starting to reside over his conscience and he felt that a 'gift' was needed in such a situation as this one.

Walking down the streets of Jaedaxia in the Rangee de Negotiante, Veleraen came across an elaborate jewelery store. It was a double storied building, the top floor being most likely some sort of private quarters or storage for the shop. The Giant couldn't understand its name, as it was in Charismean and as he looked down through the one of three windows leading into the shop, he could see the sparkle of gems, stones and necklaces in display cases within, along with an employee or two inside.

Thinking for a moment, Veleraen bent down and knocked on the wooden door that was neatly decorated with an intricate carving of weaving lines about it's surface. An older woman approached the doorway and looked out, only having seen the frame of a pair of extremely large and armoured legs showing through the window.

"Bonjour..."

The woman was dressed in a long black skirt with a longsleeved white blouse. All very professional, all very neat.

Veleraen looked down at her and smiled as he took his helmet off. "Um, Serale..." Veleraen was trying to stall for a moment, hoping he could muster up some charismean to speak to the woman.

"Um....Je.....Je...." "Gods what is the word for speak..."

"Je...parle? common?" Veleraen winced as he looked at the woman. She cracked a smile and nodded slightly. "Little, yes....What I get for you?"

"Ah, well, I am looking for a..." The Giant paused again as he thought momentarily as to what he was actually looking to get. "What would she want?" Veleraen looked to the sky for a moment and then back at the woman.

"I am looking for a necklace, simple silver chain...With a...a butterfly pendant...small, perhaps lined with some sort of green, blue, perhaps some purple stones? It is for a friend of mine. Also, a matching hair clip, simple as well." He looked at the woman, hoping she got the jist of what the Giant was trying to ask.

She nodded slowly as she put a finger to her mouth. "I take look, I come back with samples, yes?" Veleraen nodded hastily. "Yes, thank you very much."

The woman turned around and went inside and talked with her co-worker behind the counter. Veleraen bent down and peeked in through the windows, curious as to what they were looking through. A few minutes later, the woman re-appeared with a few small boxes that were padded on the inside. She opened up the first one and showed Veleraen.

"This one..." Her finger crept closer to the piece of jewelery. "Silver butterfly, silver chain, plain, no stones." Veleraen nodded as she showed another case and flipped it open. "This gold butterfly, gold chain, purple, blue stones..." Another box was flipped open as the other one closed.

"This, silver butterfly...silver chain, have two small sapphires and amethyst inside.." The two wings had either sapphire in each and the amethyst was on the belly of it. It was the one that had caught Veleraen's attention the best and he was sure it was the one he wanted.

"I like that one..." Veleraen pointed to the butterfly she just showed him and she nodded along with him. "Excellent monsieur..." She smiled and then opened another case. "This, matching hair clip...Yes?" It was simple hair clip, silver on both sides with a small spring inside of the middle and a small purple stone at the tip of it that blended in with the rest of the silver.

"Total is three hundred crowns for both. Good yes?" Veleraen quickly reached into his pouch and produced three, one hundred bank notes for the woman and took the two small boxes in the palm of his hand. "Thank you very much madame." He gave a bow of the head and put his helmet back on and carried on.

It was time to go back home.
