Theying was lounging near by the Southern Gate of Jaedaxia. He was waiting for a person. It was not quite that he knew the person, but he was rather certain that he would know the kind of person when he saw the fellow.

The skilled tradesman didn't trust some of the rumblings going on in the empire, and felt that it would be to everyone's benefit to start developing contacts with the more trustworthy militant elements in the Empire. His status as an armchair politician led him to the conclusion things were changing. Theying depended heavily upon his business, and with the Empire becoming less stable by the cycle the time may very well come when he would need to defend one or more of his holdings violently. If that time came the skilled herbalist did not want to do so by himself.

Haralo walked down the road amiaring all the sites that stood before him. His sword dangled hid so that he would not get anyone to excited. Soldiers walked through the streets making sure that everything was ok. Haralo was wearing the same exact things that he wore on the first day he arrived in this city. The chill of winter brushed on his face. He suddenly stopped walking when he noticed a man who was just lounging by the south gate. Haralo had not seen anyone in this town do that before being that they were all to busy working. Haralo decided that he would go greet this man and get to know more about him. "Hello my name is Haralo and i am new to this town and you look like a decent fellow to talk to. Do you mind if i take a seat and talk to you for a bit," Haralo was trying his best not to get this man scared or nervous but Haralo was not the best at greeting people.

Theying cracked a mirth-filled smile. The fellow seemed, well a little socially awkward but more or less what the skilled herbalist had in mind. The stranger did seem to have an inflated view of exaclty how imposing a figure he actually cut, but such self-images were often important and it wouldn't do to nettle the stranger quite yet.

"Good brightening, sir" Theying answered. "I do not mind, but I have to ask why you found me interesting and what you wanted to talk about. If for nothing else but to guage why you are here."

Haralo smiled and took a seat next to the man. "Well ever since i got here I have not seen anyone sitting outside enjoying life. Ussually if I see people outside in this city they are either working, talking, or eating and you are doing neither. Except talking with is what we are doing now." Haralo gave a smile to the man once again.And as for what to talk about it is up to you I was hoping we could just talk about anything really like how long have you lived here or what do you do. I dont really care it is just you are one of the nicest looking fellow i have seen in this city and i would like to get to know you more'" Harlo tried not to sound to excited or crazy once again he had lost many freinds that way.

Theying found it rather odd that a fellow as serious as this guy seemed had nothing in mind for a conversation topic. He did start the conversation, after all. People usually had a goal in doing things, even the little things like speaking to people and waking up in the morning. It often did everyone a great service to make such intentions known up front, unless there was something inherently dastardly about them.

"Well," Theying stated. "If you don't really care, then why ask? It seems like a waste of time to me. But, I was out here looking for a reliable sort of fellow who would be up for doing something for me."

Haralo relized that the man felt a little accward so he decided to do something so he would make it up to the man. "I will be willing to do the task for you and if you don't mind me asking what sort of task is it." Haralo loved helping people but he did not like it if he got on someone's nerves or made them scared. " Oh and i am sorry for acting some what strange. I do the same thing almost all the time and i am hoping you can forgive and forget that whole thing that just happened."

Theying was finding this character more and more confusing, he wasn't uncomfortable but he was beginning to notice that the fellow wasn't reading him all that well. There really wasn't anything to appologise for. Maybe nettling him with the inconsistancy in his speech wasn't a good idea. The skilled tradesman wasn't certain why this stranger was backtracking all of a sudden. Theying could understand being a little out of sorts and in a new space, after all he did end up here while falling through a portal of sort while trying to catch a neighbor's cat, but this seemed to imply that the newcommer wasn't as self confident as he appeared at first. That wasn't a good thing, at least for the task Theying had in mind. It would be wise to understand more about this fellow before proceeding.

"Calm down," Theying answered with a slight shake of his head. "There's no reason to be so uptight about everything. It's not like I'm going to bite your head off, or I'm afraid of the opposite. Before we discuss things further, it would would be a good idea to get you more relaxed. What do you normally do to unwind?"

Haralo decided to do what the man said and calm down. "Well normally I just continue what I am doing and over time it will pass this happens when ever I meet someone new and I am in a new place so it will take me awhile to comedown." Haralo waited awhile until he felt that he was ready to talk "Ok now I feal better so tell me what is this quest or would you like to know more about me before you tell me." Haralo was trying to be as polite as he could because he did not want to get to hyper again.

(Ooc: I am not like this in real life trust me I just am trying to make Haralo the way I invisoned him.)

There was still promise here. Even though the lad was a tad excitable he demonstrated he did have self-control. That would be of importance, especially considering that Theying was expecting this fellow to eventually deal with a cousin. The master herbalist's family was (let's face it) crazy, in a very ordinary sense that they did what they wanted no matter how embarrassing it was to a young professional like Theying.

"Well," Theying began. "I think we should go for tea first. Then we can talk about what I want you to do, even though it's more of an errand than a quest. But even errands can be quite important."

OOC: I know, I'm just having a hard time understanding. Maybe if you jumped in a few other threads I could get a better idea. You have four months of fluid time to play with. You aren't stuck just with me.

"I know what you mean," Haralo said as he stood up. Haralo did not know his way around so he did not know where the tea shops were located. "Now tell me were is this tea shop or will this be home made," Haralo asked. He did not know why but he liked Tea from some one else, maybe it was because he could not make tea for his life. Haralo looked around noticing that now the streets were crouded more then before and people were bundled up. Poor families that could not affoid a coat were bunched togeter so that they could keep each other warm. Haralo then saw the mom get nocked down and the peice of bread that was rapped under a old blanket fell to the ground. Haralo quickly ran over and helped the lady get up he then handed the peice of bread to her. "Th-Thank you kind sir" THe lady said trying to recover from the fall her chieldren stood around her and they walked off. And soon they were just another blob of people walking around the city.
