Mysticism from the lion's eye (Private, Llanwyn)
It had been two brightenings sence Link had gone to the acadamy and signed up for mysticism class. Now he was to meet his teacher, Link was uneasy about the whole thing, it had been a long time sence he realy had to use anything other then muscle and instinct, straining his mind would be a new trick for him. He was sure he could do it though.
Link found him self in a room full of obscure objects to one side of the room, a single table in the center, and plain white walls on the other side of the room. There was a window, but it was high and small. The room was large and for the most part plain. There was the door he came in from and there was another door comeing on the plain wall but it was white like the wall and unobtrusive.
Link stood alone in the room and he wondered if maybe he was in the wrong room, but he stayed and looked around anyways. Haveing looked at a few of the abstract items on the side of the room he retired to sitting at the desk at the center of the room.

"Please Stand Up."
The room boomed with a voice so eminent it shook the desk Link sat in.
"Stand Up Please."
It was there, it was loud, but where was it coming from? One of the obscure objects in the room perhaps? On of the many triangular statues? A creature as small as an insect? Could such a creature speak so loudly?
"For the gods' sake, please stand up, two feet on the damn floor."

Link quickly looked around as he stood, unsure of what was happening. The confusion could be seen on his face as he looked around, his dark brows were furrowed deep towards the center of his large face and down towards his nose creating a rather confused and concerned look on the katta as he looked around.
"Hello?" Link said as he looked around, his voice remained cool even though he was unsure, "Is there some one else in here? If there is I don't see you. My name is Link Heaver, and I'm here for initiate Mysticism... Are you my master?"
As Link said this he shivered at the idea of someone mastering over him again, that was one thing in his life that he would never forget, and that he would never let happen again.

"I am indeed. What of it?"
Suddenly, and without warning, Link was pushed directly to the floor on his stomach by an invisible force. He immediately began shaking, as if having a seizure. Strong feelings of warmth and freezing cold traveled throughout his body, and interestingly enough he felt amazing. It was offly close to the feeling of freedom for the first time. Or of sex.
He shook violently for a good matter of minutes, pinned to the floor. And it seemed for a moment that perhaps this force upon him was helping him by keeping him pinned. The gods only know what Link would have done if he had taken such a feeling standing up. A few broken bones and furniture could have easily been part of the picture.
Finally, the sensation stopped and the force upon him let off.
"There. How do you feel?"

"I am frightened, but I am overjoyed, I am tense in every muscle of my body, but yet I am relaxed... My instincs to fight are going to crazy, yet I have no desire to fight back right now. It is most confuseing I assure you," Link said out loud to the hidden force that had so much power.
He looke around again, trying to see what had caused the events that had just happened, he spun around looking. He would nervous, happy, and frightened. The cat insestery in him gave him an intence curiosity to find what caused it, it also gave him the intence wish to completely destroy what had pinned him to the ground with out ever touching him. Link had long ago learned how to supress that will, the instinct to kill, for had he not he would have been killed long ago under the tyrany of his human masters.

With a flash of light that would easily blind a nocturnal creature, a person appeared directly in front of Link. He was a little man, a gnome, floating in mid air. He wore a blue robe and hat, both of which had silver eye designs all over them in patterns. He smiled as he looked at Link over his glasses."Very well then," he said with a glare of mischief. Then suddenly, a screach behind Link sent him falling to his rump onto a chair that had apparently moved beneath him without him realizing it. He was in the chair, pinned to it, unable to move once more.
"Serale and good brightening to you Mr. Heaver. I am your instructor, you can call me Dell. For now, you will remained pinned until you can calm yourself. I am read your surface thoughts and I must say, we can't have you angrily striking out against someone as small and minute as myself." He smiled of course and floated up towards Link's face. Stopping within four inches of Link's nose, he adjusted his glasses and spoke once more, "Tell me Mr. Heaver, why is it you want to learn Mysticism?"

Link took a deep breath and sighed, he new something like this would happen... it seemed like it always did. Just by the time he thinks that he is unstopable some little guy comes along and crushes his ego and pushes him around. Link hated the little guys, especialy human ones.
After the sigh Link answered the question presented to him, "Why do I want to learn? So that I may defend myself when I cannot do so physicly. So that I may brake the chains that bind me when I don't have the strenth to. So that I may have a strength deeper then the skin. I don't only wish to learn Mysticism, I also hope to learn Sorcery, and to train both in mind and body as well. I don't want to be lorded over by anyone but myself, even if it means swallowing my pride on the way to getting there."
Link sighed again and tried to relax his muscles and his mind, hopeing that it would help to relax the instincts that led to haveing him pinned in this chair. Closeing his eyes he tried to invision his home. The slopeing hill that his mothers pride resided on, the tall grass blowing in the wind, similer to waves roleing past in the ocean. The warm suns all shineing on the open fields, and his brothers playing in thier youth. Wrestaling, it looked savage and fierce, but Link could tell in his mind that it was just for fun, he could see the laughter in thier eyes.

The gnomish mage looked upon Link with a look of dissaprovement, still, he said nothing. Power and control were never a reason to learn Mysticism, not in this magi's mind, but everyone had their reasons and he was being paid to teach this katta what he wanted. And so, he would oblige. "Very well, you are released." And with that, Link could feel the force pinning him down suddenly let go and he could move freely.
His teacher took a breath and turned his back on Link. His tone was dirty and snobbish. "I imagined such a barbaric creature as yourself would be as weak as you plainly are. Pathetic."

Link growled to himself, "I am not weak." He attempted to stay calm, but he could feel that the hair in his main was starting to stand on end. He was insulted, and his instincts wouldnt stand for it, but he had to keep himself calm, he had to let this gnome walk all over him.
"Well then," Link pushed through his mouth as smoothly as he could, "what do I need to do to learn?"

When the gnome turned back to face Link, the oddest thing happened. No longer was Link and his teacher sitting in a classroom. In fact, they were outside, and somewhere very familiar to Link. He had just been thinking of this place, of what he was seeing now before him, as real as he could tell. There they were, on the side of a hill, like riding a grassy wave upon an ocean of plains. The sun was beating down on them, and just to their right were two katta wrestling. Yes, Link would come to realize where he was, for he had thought it and now it had come to life.
"Link," his teacher said to him, his voice now calm. "You must learn to control your emotions. They are the enemy of meditation, and without meditation you can never become a successful mystic."

"I've learned how to supress them, but I havent learned how to control them," Link said to his teacher glancing at him as he looked over at this brothers wrestaling. How could it be? This happened in the past, and certianly this gnome wasnt there. Link thought about it for a moment and he started to think to himself, "this must be an illusion, there is no reason to get happy over this."
"What do I need to do to control my emotions?" Link asked, he expected some sort of quizical question to push him to think and strive for himself, but he realy hoped there was some sort of strait answer method that could be done to do it.

The old memory that had come to life dissipated like a fog broken by rays of sunlight. Only instead of sunlight shining through the mist, it was cold, hard and dull reality. All that remained then was the room Link had walked in moments before, his chair, and a young-adult woman, human, beautiful, soft and brunette. She turned to him with emerald eyes, which seemed to cause her white robes to glow green,
"You need to stop supressing them."
She was gentle in how she looked at him. And gentle in how she spoke, as soft as the flower petal tucked into the would-be collar of her robes. There was something in her eyes other than gentle beauty though. It was a tiny glint, a spark that would ignite a fire of mischief if the situation presented itself. She was a trouble-maker, that was for sure, but she had an odd ability to make it sexy and welcomed. Atleast to those who were not the butt of her pranks.
"People supress what they cannot control. So stop supressing it and control it best you can. That's all you can do to help yourself Link. It's all anyone can do short of changing you into a chicken. And I doubt you want that."
"Not at all I'm sure Sir Link de Heaver!"
She spoke in a fake Jaedaxian accent, complete with a tossing of her hand as it was stereotypically thought those snobbish Jaedaxians did while preaching this and that. She moved to the close side of the room, to the door actually, and made sure the lock was secure.
"I don't want you letting it go right now Link. That is for you to do on your own time. All I can offer is advice and teaching. Mysticism can help you in your venture to ease your anger, but it will take a stronger will than any amount of arcanic knowledge. So I suggest you start with your reflection in a pool before looking to solve anything with arcana."
She was honest, that was an understatement, but why the trick before? And why was she now being so caring? He didn't know, didn't really need to. It wasn't the object of his teachings to know why people did certain things. He would learn instead to know what they were doing. To learn how to "feel" things for them. This was the way of mysticism.
"Think on that for a minute and when you are done, get on the floor and close your eyes, head to the ground."

Link took in what she said, he could already feel his mind relaxeing from all the tention and focus it put on supresing his emotions and his instincts. Link thought about what she said, it made sence, yet he thought that his supression was controling them, by not letting them control him. In either way, it would be a new idea to master. Link would take it in stride with his training.
Link did as she said and got on the floor, put his head to the ground and closed his eyes. He wasnt sure what was going to happen, infact he was almost scared, but Link trusted his acranic master. He had to.

"Link," she asked, "Have you ever heard of mediation? To meditate? It's an ancient relaxation technique used by many, especially magi, for many, many era. It's a necessity for spell casting because a mage must concentrate, and concentration is difficult when other things are wading through our minds. Meditation clears our heads and allows us to put away our fears, our troubles, and concentrate on something fully and with every bit of our being."
She kneeled down next to his head, placing her hand on the back of his skull. "That is what you must be able to do in order to learn Mysticism. You must be able to meditate. I want you to try this now. Close your eyes, settle your breathing, and try to clear your mind of all thoughts. Relax and it will come to you. This will likely take many tries, but in the end it's worth it. Go ahead."

Link did as he was told, he kept his eyes closed, and slowed down his breathing. The gentle pressure on his head was ccomfortable there and Link soon forgot it was even there as he attempted to push the thoughts of his mind out of his head. He would continue to relax the thoughts out of him until he thought he was clear of all counsious thought or until he was instructed otherwise.
