Mysticism And I (Initiate)

After the tedious task of hiring a peasant child to help her guide her through the sign up Hinoto Shadowacre found herself after a few minutes sitting in a room. She prefered to sit on the floor rather then a chair, this was because the floor for her was a more familiar place. And being in a world so alien to her right now, comfort was high on the list of things to ascertain for she did not know what her teacher was going to be like nor did she expect her teacher to even know what to do with her. Trouble was most people in there right minds would not have known what to make of this aspiring wannabe Mystic Sorceress, though she did not have the oppurtunity to seek out sorcery on this island there were other places in which she could obtain that desired secondary sphere. Dreamers did what they did, and for Hinoto the only true reality she had was in those so few hours of sleep. How she desired to reach beyond her afflictions and experience the world for what it was once more, but the fear of her not being able to handle it anymore after all these years was something of a skeleton in the closet.

Within a period of 20 minutes the new teacher had walked in, this teacher was Laria but for Hinoto what did it matter? Long lossed had the attempts of practical speach been initiated by herself, as was her eyesight gone and her hearing too. And for this new teacher Laria to have the distinct pleasure or astonishment in getting to teach an anomaly the fine arts of mysticism.

Standing there she first tried to say "Serale" with no responce the woman kind of huffed then shouted "Serale" again. Only the meager yawning of Hinoto was given in responce for Hinoto herself was starting to get a little tired, and had still not gotten adjusted to the new scents confronted to her. Hinoto could have very well thought that Laria was an old robe that was doing nothing except just lying around. Laria not knowing what to make of this stamped her foot now yelling and seemingly starting to get irritated with this red eyed woman gazing at her but as if through her. And then the responce, Hinoto felt the vibration of her foot hitting the ground on the floor itself. Hinoto waved her hand at Laria, and for a few moments smiled before the smile itself sank down into a lifeless expression. Laria feeling as though she had made contact smiled " My name is Laria and I shall be your teacher, whats your name might I ask?" nothingness again, and Laria couldn't figure it out. Snapping her fingers, make silly faces, jumping at her, until of course the man from the front desk came in after hearing all the commotion after a few moments of blathering conversation it would be revealed to Laria that her student was infact Blind, Deaf, Mute, and Somewhat crippled. Laria was still baffled by the sudden burst of information that had been brought to her immediate attention, but still she couldnt help but make one last silly face at Hinoto is hopes of some sort of responce.

Laria however as playful as she was, still was a master mystic and with this she could easily remedy the problem and demanded a great deal of respect. Laria had quickly slid into a state of clara, and initiated a spell to allow her telepathic abilities in which she could at least speak to the young woman. For Hinoto her magic lessons were going to be tough, but such was the way of the world.

- So your blind deaf and mute huh? Well dont you worry I Laria have remedied the problem at least for now, but listen up, I can only tell you what to do and im going to expect your full cooperation because this is a first for me. And im going to help guide you through this, make note of this Hinoto I can speak to you but you unfortunatly cannot speak to me. And I will inform you if you are messing, but this is going to make things difficult can you at least try and tell me why you want to learn arcana and this specific art? -

Hinoto when being telepathically spoken too looked around every which way, focusing her attention on everything. A voice, words, by now they had seemed so freakish to her. But she understood what the woman meant, and obliged the best way she could by pointing at her blood red eyes, her ears, and her mouth. She was trying to tell the woman the reason for wanting to learn mysticism. And for a brief moment Laria understood what the gesture meant, she wanted to learn ways to get past her visible disabilities. After this Laria telapthically spoke Hinoto Shadowacre again.

- Ok, now we established why you want this I am going to tell you to relax because I will be unbinding you today. Its going to be a bumpy ride, so hang on tight ok?-

Laria walked over to Hinoto and placed her hand on her forehead, and did what it was that needed to be done. To release the shackles that had held Hinoto back for so long.

When Hinoto was touched she noticed that she could see again, but strangely something was wrong. She was not controling herself but rather almost viewing herself outside of her body, she saw great things like illusions of butterflies whoms mixed colors and hues bedazzled her senses and then almost imediatly the butterflies themselves vanished into nothingness. It was not the greatest prophetic vision ever, but it had left semblence of hope for Hinoto that one day her ailments would not be ailments anylonger.

And just as suddenly as her vision came it had faded, and Hinoto found herself laying on the floor rather then sitting in an upright position. It was not actual eyesight after all sadly, merely a dream. But the first step was done she thought, now its only a matter of time before she could begin her spell work.

- Now you are going to learn the most basic technique in spell casting, you will learn to meditate and enter clara then channel the ara that is all around you and combine it with your vis. The mechanics for this are not that hard, just concentrate and relax this will be a step by step process and I shall guide you through it. So now, all I ask is that you meditate.-

When Hinoto was contacted again Telepathically she smiled and closed her eyes, it was not that hard of a task to empty out her thoughts and to prepare her body too sink into a state of clara. But the time it took however was tedious and long, she did not know what was going to be felt when she finally achieved such a state. But then it would come after 5 or 6 minutes of hard concentration. The state of Clara for Hinoto was strange at best, she had no ability to see except the darkness but from within that however Hinoto could make out little floating orbs of rippling and translucent like watery balls. The notion that she could at least see something in her state of clara was marvelous and she loved it, she would have paid 400 crowns just for this as an experience let alone an ability. But from her body the effects that could not be seen by herself where even more magnificent, as her aura of red streaks slowly wavered from her body and her eyes now glowed in an intense illuminated crimson state.

-Your next goal will be simpler then the meditation, which might I add you did a splendid job with. It had taken you about 15 minutes to achieve clara, and I will tell Hinoto that Mysticism suits you in ways it never did me. Your new objective is as clear as its going to be, the first step is I want you CHANNEL Ara with your personal vis and then combine these two essences to make mana.-

Hinoto did what she was asked and the water droplets were drawn forth towards her, she could swear that she felt them splash across her as she meddled further with arcana. This mystic power was great and refreshing, it soothed her soul and made her feel at ease as her craft was now on its first steps to being developed. And with this power came a great respect, as the Ara around her was drawn forth now and directed too her palm where it collided into her vis and consequently created this new essence known as mana. Then after the mana had been drawn forth, she began to CHANNEL out the essence of psionics to give this seeminglessly bland mana, life and characature as it now had substance to which she could now work with.

- I see you have drawn forth the mana, now FOCUS on it, when I ask this of you I mean combine extra ara into the spell to make it more potent-

Hinoto again did what was asked and drew forth extra psionic essence and combined it into the quickly growing swirl of arcanic energy known as mana.

-Very good, now I want you to cast the spell Awareness with this spell you will be using psionic energy to sharpen your senses and broaden the horizons of your perception of the immediate vicinity around you in order to sense any illusions, and break the guise of any invisibility, and detect any metaphysical or magical occurrence with this I believe that with your current situation you might even be able to sense the presence of others around.-

Doing her best after she had woven her first spell, she cast it upon herself, and when this spell had been cast she felt different. Though she still could not see, or hear. With this spell came a most unusual gift for herself. She could sense the presence of her teacher Laria, where the table was, the bookshelf and various other trinkets such as the book on the table. Hinoto was so sure of this she could almost feel it in the very fiber of her bones, even though she herself could not see these things.

-Your next spell is enfeeblement, its not terribly complicated in its workings and as you will soon realize it is a very good spell to have at your side. What it does is very simple what it does is create a psionic inhibitor within the mind of a single opponent, effectively hindering that opponent's strength and dexterity, affecting endurance which makes them sluggish. Its not how shall I put this, the most dangerous spell you will ever learn but it certainly could make a mess of an adversary that relies and focus's on speed. What I have in this box which is next to you is a mouse, I would like you to try and cast this next spell on that mouse.-

Hinoto again understood what was asked of her, she understood what must be done. And again the process of collecting drifting ara and combining it with her vis to form mana was accomplished it was a slow progress at best. But she found herself working hard on her task, and soon she was reaping the rewards of her astral harvest. When the proper amount of mana had been swirled into existence, she drew forth the essence of psionics and then wove her spell. As time progressed a small swirl of visible red energy wavered across the scampering mouse as the psionic inhibitor was embedded arcanically within the rodents brain, and then almost suddenly when that swirl of energy dissipated the mouse was moving slower, bobbling around in the box as if its movements were taxing and it was exhausted or drained of the energy it once had. Hinoto could not see the mouse however her teacher could.

But with the spell awareness still in play it was as if Hinoto had a sixth sense like she could almost see that rodent but couldn’t, she knew very well it was there and it was alive and now afflicted but still was not able to visibly see this. Only sense it. This sense was helping Hinoto a great deal already, as she was able to find that box quickly. It was almost as if there was a map unfolding before her the obstacles she once fought feverishly to avoid bumping and stammering into where mapped out within her brain, without having to have touched them. Like the bookshelf distanced away from herself she had never come into contact with it, but strangely with the spell awareness still lingering on she knew it was there she could feel it and sense it within the fiber of her bones. It was such an acute focus of the mind that she could hardly believe it, sight without vision it was remarkable.

- Splendid job, wait a while and cool down for a while we wouldn’t want to exhaust you till you hurt yourself. So we will wait for a moment or two, before going over you next and last spell of the day.-

- Now what we will begin is somewhat something of an illusion the first of a few you will learn in this sphere no doubt. Invisibility, that’s the spells name and with this spell you will be able to cloak yourself or a companion in a field that will render you or them invisible to the naked eye by bending light around yourself. Nifty trick and pretty useful depending on what you might have planed for it, though it might cloud the sense of sight it will no not hide the sounds of your footsteps or your breath. But in a chaotic situation, you could probably without much difficulty slip past unnoticed.-

Hinoto again had nodded to her instructions, taking the time too draw forth the ara and then swirl it together with her vis to form mana. She then took some time drawing forth the essence that would activate the mana and give it life, the essence of psionics were again harnessed and taped into and channeled within this blob of astral energies to which formed spell craft or moreover arcana. When the spell was activated it seemed like a small force field had enclosed around herself slowly shrinking until the field itself was skin tight like a fabric. When the light hit this woven mesh of arcana it bent, when Hinoto stayed perfectly still she was perfectly invisible but when she moved she looked as though a glassy blur or an translucent distortion.


-Very good Hinoto, but your lesson for today has ended see me next brightening and we will begin again. Till then, good bye.-

After telepathically speaking to Hinoto, Laria had gotten up and left down the hall to where her next pupil was waiting for her tutelage.
