Silas strolled into the classroom where he was to meet the teacher from which he would learn Initiate Elementalism. Coming to a halt before the door that lead into the room. Grasping the handel of the door he turned it and let himself inside, closing the door gently behind him. Looking around the classroom he noticed that the size of it was like any normal one, there were domish windows on the wall in front him, and if you looked out them you would see the rest of Demios. He noticed a desk with an empty chair behind it. Walking over to the desk he noticed that it had several different volumes of arcana and a mountain of papers.


Stepping behind the desk and looking around the classroom from the point of view made the room look a lot bigger. He noticed that there weren't any chairs for the teacher's students to sit down on, what was going on? When he looked down at the floor he found out his answer. Lying on the ground were big poofy cushions that were big enough so you could sit down on them and also see and listen to the teacher comfortably. Looking around the walls of the room he noticed that there was absolutley no stone wall visible as the walls without windows were completley covered in bookshelves filled to the max with books about the different spheres of Arcana. Walking over to a book shelf he noticed that the majority of the volumes were about Elementalism; Well obviously.


He let out a yawn and massaged his eyes for a bit. "A bit tired there young one?" asked a voice behind him. Silas jumped in surprise and wheeled around to see the speaker. "Heh heh heh caught you by surprise didn't I?" asked the voice. A half-elf half-human stood before him smiling. He looked quite young. With a smile he introduced himself "Serale, my name is Danto and I am your teacher, don't worry Silas, I already have learned of your name" said Danto. He was garbed in a pearly white robe with a life-like rose emroided on the front. Red beads closley woven together were stitched to his robe's sleeves and they clacked whenever he moved.

There was also a really thick and wide band at the waist that held the main part of his robe together, there were designs of odd lizard like creatures and the same red rose was embrodied on the band to. There was a pin pinning down the two parts of his robe at the shoulder it was carved in the shape of a rose and with such detail to! He wore sandals for foot wear as well. He was a tall man with pearly white teeth, brown eyes, brown hair, a deep bass voice and ears slightly smaller then an average elf's.


"Please sit" said Danto. Silas obeyed and sat down on one of the cushions and looked up at Danto whom walked over to his desk and sat in its chair. "Well now are you ready to begin student?" asked Danto. Danto blinked at Silas, awaiting his reply. "Yes sir I am ready to learn from you" said Silas. All he could do from there on was to await Danto's reply.

Once Silas had indicated that he was ready to begin learning, Danto offered his student little more than a pleased smile in response. At least his student seemed eager enough to begin; such a feat was a good sign indeed, regardless of how early on in these lessons they were at the moment. Hopefully Silas would prove himself to be an attentive and dedicated individual further down the line of learning as well, not least because such favourable traits would make Danto’s job a great deal easier for him to perform. Once Silas had gotten himself nice and comfortable within the domains of one of the swanky cushions, his instructor cleared his throat in relatively noisy sort of way, before proceeding with the very first of his explanations for that brightening.

“Alright then, first things first- you cannot use arcane as you are now. That might seem obvious enough, but this has been so with the greater majority of people on Telath ever since the fracture of the Aethergem way back when. In order for you to begin casting spells, I will need to unbind you- that is, relinquish you of the bonds that prevented you from accessing those energies used for spellcasting before. Before I do that, however, I’ll explain some of the basics of those arcane energies you’ll be aware of once you are unbound- just to prevent you from having any nasty surprises, understand?”

Placing the base of each of his elbows squarely upon the callous surface of the desk before him, Danto then made a show of elaborate gestures and fanciful hand movements in an ultimately futile bid to aid the next set of enlightening sentences he chose to impart unto his newest pupil.

“Now, there are, in essence, two main types of arcane energies that you will grow used to over these next few brightenings. The energies that dwell within you, vis, and the energies that reside as a part of your very surroundings, ara. Now, once these two are brought together and interwoven in such a way that they seem to become one, a reaction known as an arcalysis is created, resulting in the production of mana. It is this mana that is used as the basis for all spells, although we’ll go more into that a little later on. For now, prepare yourself- whilst unbinding is, on the whole, quite harmless, a lot of new students to arcane tend to undergo visions known as unbinding dreams, and these have a knack for being quite vivid in a lot of cases.”

After having given Silas what he thought was a suitable amount of time with which to ready himself for what was to come, the teacher stepped out from behind the haven of his desk, shuffling the mass of his body the short distance towards where his student sat upon one of the plush cushions before extending one arm in order to tap him lightly on the left shoulder. Apparently the process of unbinding took little time at all to carry out, and soon Danto was moving languidly back towards the comfort of his own desk, lowering his frame into the chair situated just behind it before fixing his student with an intense and inquisitive sort of look, as though gauging what Silas’ reaction to the unbinding would be, and how he would respond to his sudden awareness of the energies within and without his being.

OOC: Feel free to RP out your unbinding dream or vision in your next post- be as creative as you like. Seeing as it’s just as ‘dream’ it won’t be considered bunnying.

OOC: Ok then, this should be good.

IC: Silas gave a few silent nods to his new teacher's instructions. "Unbinding, hmmm sounds a bit intriguing" thought Silas. When the other Elf shuffled forward, the Vysstichi did not know what Danto was planning to do but after all, the other Elf did know what he was doing and Silas was completley clueless. After his teacher gave Silas a tap on the left shoulder he simply blinked. Nothing seemed to be happening so he began to ask Danto a question. "Sir, nothings ha-" his words were cut off short as the unbinding began its process.

Everything in the room turned into the colours of a rainbow. "Now this is differen't" thought Silas. He moved his hand around in front of his eyes. Whoa....he could see the air that was trapped in the room. Then the whole area went black, a then a blinding flash exploded all around him and then he seemed to be in a courtyard of some sort, where all the plants beared crowns. "I'm rich, I'M RICH!!!!" thought Silas.

Skipping around the courtyard and jumping for joy it seemed to go on for hours. But then everything faded away and he was back in the classroom with its hazy colours. Except this time the room was absolutley packed with soldiers, their weapons trained on the Vysstichi. They surrounded Silas and preparing their weapons, they struck and everything went black. Silas then immediatley snapped out of the trance he went into. "Wow that was really really odd" thought Silas.

Turning to Danto with a puzzled look on his face he spoke. "Uhhh I'm confused Sir, what now?" asked Silas.

Danto watched his student unblinking as Silas was put through the ordeals of the unbinding, and those visions associated with it. He had tutored a fair amount of newcomers to arcana in his time, and any kind of reaction the vysticchi exuded now would come as little of a surprise to the more experienced mage. Of course, he would not personally be able to witness with his own eyes what his pupil was going through, what he was seeing, but occurrences such as that were quite irrelevant. True, he would have been able to wheedle something more solid and conclusive of what Silas was experiencing had he chosen to excel in the sphere of Mysticism instead, but, for all the good it was said to be capable off, he still could not see that particular arcane art as nothing more than an incredibly perverted breed of magic.

“Can you see the energies around you? Are you aware of them? Those are the external energies used in order to create spells, ara. You’ll need to attract those to yourself in order to cast a spell. However, before you can do that, you will need to enter a state of clara. This is a meditative state which allows you to concentration your spell-casting, and is needed as a prerequisite to any spell. You can attain this state by simply blocking off all extraneous thoughts, although that process may prove to be a little harder than it sounds, especially for someone as new to the arcanic craft as you. As such, you’ll find it will take you a considerable amount of time to enter, and you may not even achieve it one your first attempt.”

After offering his student an overly reassuring kind of smile, the man gave the other elf a little time to absorb what knowledge he had imparted unto him before deigning to continue once more.

“What I want you to do now is enter a state of clara. Block of each of your senses, one by one, and rid yourself of all thoughts. If it helps, try concentrating on one image, such as a flower, in order to aide you in dispelling all other manner of thoughts, and then, when you feel ready, rid yourself of that image as well. There are many ways to accomplish meditation, Silas, and it’s up to you to decide which best suits you.”

Apparently that was enough of an explanation for the dark elf to get by on, and Danto fell silent as he awaited some kind of action or response from his pupil. It did not seem as though he was going to be entering a state of clara himself, and would instead content himself with watching Silas try to obtain that meditative state on his own.
