Lets begin the elementalist training aye. O.O [MINERVA]
-The happy go lucky heretic sea elf sat around patiently after paying that man 200 crowns to begin her elementalist training. She had tons of crowns considering she never looked into realestate, but thats not what she needed to worry about currently. Wadatsumi knew she was going to need to learn how to manipulate elements all of them, if she was ever going to learn to master water itself.
Thus she waited, and did so with a big cheery smile. Already Wadatsumi was on the path in which she would need to show true dedication to her craft, afterall had she not she would never get to a point where she could manipulate water and thus a self proclaimed water god not being even able to manipulate water was more of a joke then a serious matter. And nobody would take her seriously.
Thus when training began she would do as she was told, she did afterall want to learn basic elements to forge her style. In fact earthen elements also intrigued her, but she despised fire she hated it. -

Abigail had taught many of the students at the Universitas before, and as a result was very much experienced and knowledgeable in the qualms and worries of potential students. Her sphere of choice was elementalism, and she had been a caster of that particular breed of arcana for longer than most people would suspect. She was an amiable woman, for the most part, despite the mildly stern looked that adorned her face on the majority of occasions. This brightening, thankfully, she was in the best of moods- summer had swept across the island of Demios in all its shimmering glory, bathing the lands in delightful tones of red and gold. She had a new student to work with this brightening, and would do everything in her power to have her fledgling pupil trained up to initiate level in as short a time as possible.
Whether by way of fortune or sheer coincidence, the very place where Wadatsumi had been waiting for her lessons was outside the very classroom in which they were to take place. As such, Abigail had little trouble at all in spotting the visage of her newest ward, and, with a gentle smile plastered across her otherwise indifferent features, made to approach the young telera.
“Serale…Wadatsumi, is it? Are you the one wanting to learn Elentalism? Good. I’ll be your teacher- my name’s Abigail.”
Proffering her hand for a polite handshake, the woman then gestured to a door just beyond the sea elf’s shoulder, before motioning for Wadatsumi to follow as she led the way into the room that lay behind its rigid wake.
“Come inside, and let me know about why you chose to study the sphere of elementalism.”
The room was bland, and far from impressive, its walls devoid of adornments other than the odd window here and there. Furnishings lay strewn about the room in a lackadaisical sort of manner, without much thought having been given to neatness and order. Of course, nothing much was needed for these lessons apart from one’s concentration, and Domenique was not one to burden herself, or others for that matter, with such petty things as decorations and fixtures anyone else would use in order to impress a guest.
Arranging two of the many wooden chairs that lay half-heartedly about the room, Abigail gestured for her student to seat herself on one of the pair, before making a show of arranging her skirts in order to take her place on the other. She was still waiting for some response from Wadatsumi in answer to the question she had posed earlier, and would proceed no further with this brightening’s lessons until they had been resolved.

The sea elf just took in her quaint unorganized surroundings, it was a neat little place. But it was nothing like her home in the open ocean, no animals just creaky wooden floors and her teacher. She seemed like a powerful elementalist, and she seemed to want to know why she herself wanted to learn the trade opposed to others that were also readily available to her, she liked the idea of being able to use elements to do her bidding. For some reason hell has no fury like mother nature, she is the most destructive force to have ever walked the planet. So it was only natural that she wanted to be able to harness her tyrannical force and use it as her own, except fire she despised it. -
"Yes my name is Wadatsumi, and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Domenique. "
-Despite the woman’s hand out for a handshake she just tilted her head and examined her hand. She did not like putting her hands on people, especially when an opportunity was present to grab her wrist. She had already had an unpleasant experience and thus she got up and walked over to the room where Domenique had pointed out.-
"Well to be honest, I was not exactly sure why I wanted to choose elementalism. I know it has powerful uses and implications, and that harnessing its destructive potential could make me feel safe. Though im primarily interested in manipulating wind, earth, electricity and primarily water. For some reason I just don't feel any love for fire, its too unpredictable for me. Plus another reason im looking for training as an elementalist is because well, I don't think there is anything more rewarding then being able to achieve mystical abilities for your hard work, effort, and concentration. Sorcery on the other hand is nothing that important to me, and mysticism is too underhanded to suit me. Ikos, has no use for direct protection and necromancy is to evil as thaum... ermmm... tergist I believe you say it is just priest spells. And let me tell you, I am not priest.”
-[Im a water goddess] she thought.-
“Sorry for not shaking your hand earlier, I meant no disrespect. I just have had a bad run with people grabbing my wrists this afternoon so im kind of hesitant to do it again."
-Walking towards the wooden chair she looked down at it, examining the craftsmanship. It was a sturdy chair, and it was not dusty Domenique had probably taught other students in this room frequently. Stepping in front of the chair and placing her back against it she slowly relaxed herself taking a moment to evaluate her situation.-

Upon the realisation that the proffered handshake was n not about to be answered by the telera, Abigail’s smile vanished in little less than an instant. Not the slightest trace of that cordial smile prevailed the subsequent onset of mild offence that touched the woman’s soul. True, at times she could exude that same sense of reluctance for formalities, but she had not expected as much from her newest pupil here at the Universitas. Still, she was being paid for these lessons, and perhaps it was wrong for her to feel indignant at this early stage. Satisfied with the notion that she might simply have misunderstood Wadatsumi’s intentions, the woman’s smile returned once more, if with significantly less fervour.
When the sea elf had sufficiently explained her reasons for wanting to study elementalism, and after she had offered her apologies, Abigail’s previously strained smile widened into something significantly more genuine. It was not often that she experienced such feelings of relief, but she was truly grateful that she had misjudged her pupil earlier on.
“It’s alright, Wadatsumi- we all have our little quirks.”
She sounded as though she really did mean it, and her open smile portrayed not a hint of disbelief or sarcasm. Where her tone had been amiable and kindly one moment, however, it soon reverted to one of utmost seriousness and businesslike undertones as she carried on speaking further.
“As you should know, you can’t cast any spells as you are now. Since the fracture of the Aethergem, all beings on Telath have been born bound, disconnected and unaware of the arcane energies surrounding them. The arcane energy within, vis, and the energy surrounding us all, ara. What I am going to do now is unbind you, remove the barriers that previously shielded you from these arcane energies. The effects of the unbinding can vary from person to person, but, more often than not, initiates such as yourself undergo ‘unbinding dreams.’ These are quite harmless, Wadatsumi, and nothing to take too seriously. Ready yourself, now.”
After giving her student a few moments to mentally prepare herself for what was to come, Abigail reached out towards her with one hand, making doubly sure not to touch her student anywhere near the proximity of her wrists. Instead, she brought her fingers lightly into contact with Wadatsumi’s left shoulder, lingering there for naught more than a second before retracting them altogether. For all the unbinding was and meant, it was not a feat that took overly long to accomplish. Wearing a look of mutes curiosity and concern both plastered across her features, Domenique waited motionlessly for her student’s reaction to the unbinding, as well as her subsequent awareness of ara and [/i]vis[/i].
OOC: Feel free to RP out your unbinding dream now- be as creative as you like. Seeing as it’s just as ‘dream’ it won’t be considered bunnying.

Wadatsumi nodded her head in responce and closed her eyes in a smooth mellow fashion. While relaxing herself completly, she felt the soft touch of her teacher on her left shoulder. She was not knowing what to expect until it hit her like a ton of bricks.
(- she felt like she was moving at nearly a million miles per second the closed eyes were now viewing a make shift tunnel it was almost like a wormhole until she finally felt like she had halted herself.
It felt like rain she heard thunder cackling in the background, the rain as she extended her hand out a rain drop cut her. And as she viewed the field she saw a rampant tornado on a vicious and destructive killing spree, shredding houses, people, anything that got caught its winding grasp.
she was viewing something an approaching army but suddenly the army simply fell over and died there charred and mangled corpses just littering the battle field with streams of electricity wavering its tentacles from there metallic armor.
Wadatsumi in her dream turned and saw the remnants of a city burning in roaring flames captured in an inferno, she heard screams yells and shouts but further on the landscape the morbid scenery fluxed and changed. It was a residual wave of water in complete harmony with everything thing else, up until finally a massive tsunami from out of nowhere which exploded from the shore hitting and enveloping her in its watery wrath. -)
-Her nose was starting to bleed, just slightly it was doubtful someone would notice it.-
(-Wadatsumi could almost taste the salty water as she found herself reawakening on the ground, slowly picking herself up in the dream trance she saw the sky literally falling in massive clusters of rocks smashing into random objects, earthquakes rumbling from underneath her, and a massive volcano beginning to protrude itself up from the ground with malevolent purposes which threw her off her feet as she spent a good deal of time falling down while the earthen mass continued to move upward where it suddenly spewed forth ash smoke and a blistering trail of deadly lava.
Feeling scared out of her mind when she had finally hit the ground, it simply crumbled beneath her and she fell through what seemed to be an endless ominous black abyss. When she finally fell to the bottom of the chasm she was left there in the dark alone, she saw something it looked like a stone a gem that glowed with substantial brightness. Walking up to it she pointed her index finger out and touched the fractured object to which she was sent flailing backwards by a massive gust of wind to which she could not even fathom. It was instantanious, when she hit the back of the wall she opened her eyes-)
- As the student opened her eyes they were brightly glowing and pulsing with a yellowish aura as she was visually becoming aware of ara and vis. It looked like an odd type of painting, everything seemed different, flowing in streams and swirls. She was now again a newborn in this strange alien world, but she felt something trickling down her lip. When she placed her hand on it she could see a slight stream of crimson on her hand, perhaps it was a warning that if she continued blood would be spilt by her hands. But just as quickly as her eyes had been wrapped in a magnificent aura it finally faded as the little thelyri was looking at her hand.-
“ You know I had a strange dream, I saw nothing but destruction death and carnage not like necromancy. But its power, its essence, the four elements all displaying there killing techniques and flaunting there power as if trying to impress me or to swoon me off my feet to choose them. Im not sure, but I think one day I might... I might end up end up doing something awful, I saw armies fall and towns villages and cities crumble and be devoured in flames, I saw people shredded in twisters, I felt earthquakes beneath my feet volcano’s emerge from the ground, I saw everything that got caught in my path be slain no slain is not the word; mutilated in the worst imaginable ways possible. But for some reason I should be mortified, but... its strange I don’t... I don’t feel anything, its like had this happened I had no remorse. Maybe I took pleasure in it, maybe I would have enjoyed the massacre, maybe I am evil and I just don’t know it. Or perhaps, its something else maybe I am seeking to learn elementalism for reasons that even I am unsure of, that amount of destruction that malice its as if I was upset lashing out at the world. Or a conquest in which I was seeking to gain attention but not of the realm of man by the way I was butchering them, It just felt inhuman.
All I know, all im certain of is that this little bit of blood that is on my hands could be a warning, im scared... but I want to continue”

When Wadatsumi came to from her ordeal under the influence of the unbinding,. She would be able to notice her tutor watching her with the significant imprint of a frown marring her usually composed countenance. Whilst she had watched her students undergo many a variety of strange reactions during the affairs of having ara and [/i]vis[/i] suddenly unleashed upon them, she had not expected anything this violent to come from the telera. Her words, however, were spoken bravely for one who had evidently been put through something considerably traumatic, and Abigail, humane as she was, admired that fully.
“Don’t be scared, Wadatsumi. Even though I wasn’t able to help you during the unbinding, I assure you nothing else bad will happen to you under my tutelage, alright?”
In an almost motherly sort of fashion, the woman dug around in the pockets of her shift for a moment, before extending the cerulean folds of a silken handkerchief towards her pupil. It would do little good for either of them if Wadatsumi passed out or collapsed through sheer loss of blood.
“The spells of elementalism should not backfire if you use them properly, and pay due respect to the powers you will toying with in doing so. Just as a demonstration to you that there is little to worry about, I’ll impart one of the simplest spells of elementalism to you now.”
Allowing her lids to flutter shut as she closed her eyes, the woman reached out with her right hand, bringing her palm to face upwards as she concentrated on some manner of though that her pupil would not be able to wholly discern. Only the briefest of spans passed before Abigail opened her eyes unto her surroundings once more, a glowing sphere of light occupying the space above her hand where only empty air had existed only moments before. The orb was a pretty little thing, swimming with the shimmering tendrils of red that symbolised the element of raging fires. This flickering tongues, however, were neatly contained within the spherical restrictions of the spell itself, and no obvious amount of heat emanated from that demure form.
“This is a Glowing Sphere, Wadatsumi, and is easy enough to make. Most use it merely as a source of illumination, although I see it as being much more fun than that.”
With naught more than a broad grin in warning, the orb left the haven of its creator’s hand, moving to float in a sinuous line about the room, sending red-gold shadows streaming across the walls which flanked it, before finally coming to rest above Wadatsumi’s head.
“In order to cast any spell, there must be a reaction between the two arcane energies, between ara and vis. To do this, you must attract the ara around you towards yourself, using your own vis as a lure, of sorts. Once you think you have attracted enough, you need to intertwine the two energies, merge them together in a tight pattern to produce a reaction known as arcalysis. This reaction will subsequently result in the creation of mana, the material needed to weave any spell. The more ara and vis you bring together, the more mana you will end up with. Seeing as this is only a small spell, you shouldn’t use up too much of your own will of vis in order to cast it.”
A slight cough and a mildly embarrassed smile touched the woman lips as she cleared her throat, evidently a tad bit uncomfortable with having to say so much in such a short amount of time.
“Once your mana is ready, you need to craft it, arrange it into the form of a small sphere. This you will infuse with the essence of the element of your choice, although, in this case, it should be either fire or ice. The essence will come to you from the appropriate Plane holding those elements. This done, your spell will be ready, and all you will have to do is bring it into the Plane of the Material- that is, the plane in which you and I exist in right now.”
Another tentative smile, and Abigail was leaning back slightly in her chair, quite content with the knowledge she had imparted thus far.
“Now, in order to play about with ara and vis, you will need to attain a state of clara, a meditative state, if you will. Since you are only new to this art, reaching clara could take you quite a time, so don’t worry if it takes longer than you think it should. Now, if you are ready, meditate. Show me a Glowing Sphere of your own.”

-Listening to her wise teacher Abigail made Wadatsumi smile as she used the newly acquired handkerchief to wipe the remnants of blood from her face specifically her nose. Still listening and watching Abigail closely while she was in the midst of demonstrating a fairly uncomplicated spell of speciality Wadatsumi was rubbing her hand clean of the crimson liquid from her soiled hands.-
“ So let me get this straight, your telling me that in order to do this I need to relax and concentrate is that correct?”
-Doing her best to calm her already unsettled nerves Wadatsumi closed her eyes slowly and took in a deep relaxing breath of air. Slowly doing her best while sitting on the ground until a couple of minutes past, Wadatsumi opened her eyes again and they began glowing in a bright illuminating light which veiled her iris’s. Looking at her hands she saw the Ara she needed floating around her like a swirling veil of smog, extending her hands she began using her will to draw this magical essence in towards her hands like a magnet or vacuum. Being able to see the swirling energies she wondered, letting the inside take a shape before encompassing the object in a fluid swirl.
This was fun for Wadatsumi because for her It was like water, it took no real shape or form. And as she began tightening the mix of Vis and Ara with her focus she had floating around her hand what appeared to be this mana that her teacher had spoke to her about. As the mana began to tear itself into her reality, the orb looked as if it was pushing through water until it finally unmasked itself to her trainer. Inside the orb, Wadatsumi had attempted to make an object using the unconcentrated vis and not compacting it tightly to make a dimmer glow of red.
The bright sphere of light instead of tendrils had what appeared to be an imprint of a fully bloomed rose. Wadatsumi was now starting to begin to grasp what this was all about, to shape and mold mana into a state of reality. And that is when it started to reveal to the girl that the possibilities for spells were probably endless, and this truly intrigued the sea elf.
The ball was rather bright especially with it so close to her face, she tucked her head under letting her teacher look at the makeshift ball of light with its red glowing flower in the center. Though the imprint was not remarkable or a true work of art worthy of admiration the flower inside began to look as if was losing its firmness and thus began wilting back. While it was doing this the now shapeless entity still flowing in a wilting shape slowly kept becoming stranger and stranger until the shape finally stopped. After what Wadatsumi had only finished speaking about only minutes ago, what was left inside the ball of light was a misshaped but undeniable form of a skull which slowly slipped away and faded in an eerie and undeniably unsettling fashion.
After which, Wadatsumi had slowly raised her head smiling happily. She was very cheerful of her conquest, and had been rather proud of her sphere of light. But her emerald green eyes noticed that the red center to her spell had faded away. -
“ That was neat! I tried to make a flower but I guess I did not concentrate it enough which is why I think its gone. So did I do a good job? I think I have a knack for this, I guess I must be sensitive to arcana. Anyway, A+ for effort right?”

A smile crossed Abigail's face. Her pupil certainly did appear to be more than enthusiastic enough for these lessons, a trait which would definitely work to ensure that her efforts here worked well. Whilst it was all very well creating glowing sphere and hurling elemental orbs about every which way, actually enjoying what you were doing was a feat on par with talent and aptitude in the way of importance, and the tutor was pleased that her student was exuding a generous amount of each here.
“Certainly- top grade for effort, Wadatsumi, although you shouldn’t feel disappointed that your flower faded there. When you reach some of the higher levels of Elementalism, you’ll be expected to modify and play around with your spells in ways such as this. All in all, though, that was a great job, and successful on the first try! Believe me, there aren’t that many who can achieve the same feat- you have good reason to feel proud of yourself.”
Allowing her students a few moment to lap up the compliments she had been given, Abigail then leaned forwards a smidgen in her own chair, studying the floating, flickering orb that Wadatsumi had only just manifested with a twinkle of amusement glancing the farthest corners of her eyes. The glowing sphere had worked well, and it would be a shame to have to dismantle it so quickly. Still, the next technique was one that had to be learned, and there was no escaping it this early on.
“Now, you know how you moulded the mana in order to form your glowing sphere? Well, even though you did not know it at the time, you were using one of five mana-shaping techniques. These are used to form all spells in arcana, and are…”
Coughing gently, clearing her throat in as inconspicuously a way possible, Abigail’s next words came as something that sounded much more monotonic, and certainly seemed as though they had been recited from a book, and a very old, dusty book at that.
“Abjuration. This behavior describes the motion of energy. Anytime that energy moves into or out of an object, person, location or environment, it is abjuring.”
“Alteration. This behavior describes the shape of energy. When one is creating a texture, volume or dispersion of energy, such as shaping it into a field or shield of sorts, one is altering the energy's physical manifestation.”
“Conjuration. This behavior describes the construction of energy. If energy changes complexity of form, for example, from energy into food, or from energy into a summoned creature or being, one is conjuring such a manifestation from the energy essence.”
“Divination. This behavior describes the communication of energy. When energy interfaces with the mind, the senses, perception, thought and mental concentration, such as in the creation of illusions, the reading of minds, or the implanting of an enchanted suggestion; it is divining.”
“Evocation. This behavior describes the caustic nature of energy. Essentially, this means the rate at which energy moves from its alternate existence into this world, and most often causes results that affect health and well-being - such as healing, damaging, and so on. This is called evoking.”
“Now, those techniques in mind, which one do you think you used in order to create this spell? Leave the orb for now- it only takes a small amount of concentration to maintain, and you’ll be working on it again in a moment.”

-Wadatsumi was taking in the compliments full heartedly, she liked being rewarded for her hard work and now she could make a glowing sphere of light. Which was very pretty, and would probably be of much greater use to her when she needed to see in dark places.
But when her teacher Abigail asked her to remove the glowing sphere of light to free herself so she could begin learning a new one Wadatsumi did just that, and the glistening ball simply faded from reality from her hand as she stopped focusing ara and let the object consume itself.
Still sitting in that chair, it was apparent that her teacher wanted to know what she knew about arcanic terms for specific styles of magic usage. For her without having any real knowledge on arcane practices went with just a random choice that best fit the object. -
"Well im not sure, I would place my finger on alteration because I was altering the mana's form to make a sphere of light. But I am just not sure. "
-Wadatsumi still looked as though she was in deep thought about this, for her books were a dreary nightmare. It was much easier for the sea elf to do things with the hands on approach, she did not know why but it just was. Wadatsumi had always thought the water nymph heritage in sea elves was more concentrated and shined more brightly in her then others of her species, which is what she thought made her unique and governed some of her actions. -

“Good, that’s the correct answer. The same mana-shaping technique should be used for this next spell as well. It’s very similar to the one that you have just learned, although it has a different purpose entirely. Whilst this one is used solely for creating an ambient light, the Elemental Orb is used as an arcanic weapon, of sorts, and can be used to inflict damage on any foes you have the bad fortune to encounter.”
Rather than provide anything in the way of a demonstration into how the spell should appear, the woman merely chose to sink further into the haven of her chair, reclining subtly into its snug depths in a lack-lustre bid to obtain a greater degree of wondrous comfort. Folding her arms neatly across the assorted folds of her dress, Abigail’s gaze never left the yellow-green orbs of her student’s elfin eyes as she continued to speak further.
“You should create this spell in the same way you did the Glowing Sphere, although this time you need to imbue it with a different sense of purpose. That is, to hurt, to harm, to inflict pain. This is an offensive spell, and you should keep that in mind whilst you are working on making it. You can choose any element you like here, Wadatsumi- all conclude with slightly different results. An orb of fire will riddle your opponent with a nice array of burns, whilst an orb of ice will result in them feeling a tad too cold for comfort.”
Satisfied that she had imparted enough knowledge of this new spell to her pupil, Abigail gestured for Wadatsumi to begin. Of course, the sea elf would have to go through the slightly daunting process of having to enter clara again in order to begin manipulating the strands of ara and vis, but she was fairly certain that her student could handle that. The elf had aptitude, that much was quite evident, and Abigail doubted that that blaze of talent would dwindle in the way of its fervour any time soon.

-Wadatsumi had given her teacher a strange look this time, apparently Abigail wanted to see if Wadatsumi could do this on her own without demonstrating first, instead making her rely on the knowledge she had gained from the first spell which she had previously cast just moments before.
Staring blankly as if trying to contemplate on doing this, the meditative trance was then initiated until she rose her head up once more, her eyes again glowing veiled in that bright yellow aura.
Lifting her hands up she peered down at them concentrating on the vis and ara to again mix them into the resource known as mana. As she did this she opened her hands, it was hard for her to determine how to make a specific element however she attempted to try and wield the air.
Slowly her hands began to be enveloped in cackling tendrils of electricity, its static blue wavering arms swishing back and forth savagely trying to slap anything that got caught its turbulent path. As her hands where still emitting the electric tentacles she moved her wrists so each palm was facing each other.
This had caused the electricity to spring forward and collide into each other between her parted hands. Slowly but surely her focus and determination had caused the strands of electricity to compact into a small ball which was radiating neon blue and white and embodied a mischievous hum which wavered in pitch but was slow and steady.
Wadatsumi enjoyed how the when she brought her hands close enough to the object its protruding extremities would flail themselves violently towards her fingers. She was nervous about touching this, and displayed this emotion through body language and being hesitant about approach. -
“ Can this thing hurt me?”
-Wadatsumi wanted to be certain she would not blow herself across the room by touching an object of her wondrous and exciting new craft.-

Abigail smiled as she watched the ball of contained thunder came into being. She had not figured that her student would need anything in the way of a demonstration in order to display some form of success upon manifestation of the spell. Sometimes these things came quite naturally to people, and Wadatsumi certainly appeared to be exhibiting an admirable amount of talent for the sphere of elementalism this brightening. The telera’s uncertainty had been shown to a noticeable degree by way of her body language, however, and Abigail’s enquiring gaze was quick to pick up on this sense of ambiguity. Her student’s question, despite the hesitant way in which it was asked, was one that seemed relevant enough, and the woman was only to happy to provide it with some conclusive breed of answer.
“No, Wadatsumi, it shouldn’t be able to harm you. You created it, after all, and the orb should have been formed with the purpose of hurting someone else, not yourself. Think of it…think of it as being a weapon- a sword, if you will. Whilst you’re the one to wield it, it will not harm you unless you make a stupid mistake, understand?”
She doubted it was the best way of explaining things, but hoped that it would at least get the point across. The magic Wadatsumi created would never be able to cause her hurt unless she either purposefully intended it to, or made some mistake that would warrant some measure of chastising punishment anyway.
“Anyway, let me now explain a little more of what you are actually doing when casting a spell such as this one. After you’ve entered the meditative state and achieved a sense of clara, the interaction between arcane energies is known as Focussing, that is, your interfacing with arcane energies. Channelling, also known as cantrips, is the process of controlling the rate at which energy enters and departs a spell. This technique allows you to control the magnitude of your spell, in a way, by either amplifying or deamplifying the effects of it. After both of these techniques have been carried out, the mana-shaping techniques are used to complete the construction of a spell, understand?”
After giving her student a few moments to let all of that sink in, Abigail then proceeded onwards with the next explanation for that brightening, a reasurring look plastered across the fine lines of her face as she hoped that none of this would prove too daunting for her pupil.
“Now, just as all spells can be created, so can they be Dispelled. You know that ara and vis are interwoven in order to create an arcalysis, which is the basis for all spells, correct? Well, just in the same way, these energies can be separated, essentially reversing the effect. All you need to do is gently push the external energies of ara away from your own vis. Whatever you do, try not to force the process too much. Try it now, on that elemental orb you’ve just made.”
Falling into silence once more, Abigail then waited for her student to do just that before she would deign to continue further on with their lesson for that brightening.

-After Abigail had explained in minor detail about the properties of conjured magic. Wadatsumi let out a small breath of relief as she began to listen to her teacher's soft spoken words again. She was a great intellectual teacher, and Wadatsumi was savoring every scrumptious tid bit of knowledge that was being handed down to her. Each piece and every little inquiry made her that much more aware, that much more effective in dabbling in this elemental art form.
Now her focus was directed upon learning this before attempting to play around with dispelling her magical masterpiece. As her mind was still clear and still in control of the orb, she began to manipulate the ara and vis around her ravaging ball of electricity. She was focusing in, channeling, beginning to work more mana into the spell. The more she merged this substance into the ball, the more violent the spell was becoming. After a while the brandishing tendrils had faded completely away, leaving in her hand a ball of energy that was bright but had a shimmering blue hue within its core, it looked almost like water as more amperes were being emitted it was intense. Fearsome, no longer a toy, this was a lethal weapon and Wadatsumi only continued to dabble continuously watching her teacher searching for suggestive body language that would imply she was going to far and it was time to stop.
However whether or not she gave this gesture, Wadatsumi would stop abruptly and halt herself from streaming anymore unnecessary mana into the already woven fabric of the spell.
This had been an experiment to delve herself deeper into the understanding of what channeling exactly was and then using this newly found knowledge to fluently use it in the field. Now it was time to pull this maneuver off in reverse, and then she began to slowly do this. The lightning balls brightness and lethality slowly dwindled as the mana was being broken down and dispersed in a calculated and precise way up until there was nothing left to break apart.
And when this event had occurred, the glowing ball had faded and was finally dismissed from her presence.-
“ Like this, right?

Whilst Abigail had maintained a passive, cordial look thus far, she had not been expecting her student to play around wither newly formed spell in such a manner so soon after having created it in the first. As such, her expression grew increasingly more stern, very much akin to that of a mother reprimanding a particularly mischievous and impish little child. That sense of sternness, however, was intermingled with something deeper, an intricately hidden emotion of concern and trepidation.
“Wadastumi, please stop that this instant. Whilst you will be encouraged to dabble more in your skills at higher levels, such experimentations could prove dangerous for you whilst you are still an initiate. I wouldn’t want anything untowards to happen to you so soon after you’ve started learning.”
A blatantly audible sigh of relief left the woman’s lips as the telera ceased in her toying of the mana and began to work at what she had been instructed to do instead. Regardless of their unstable start to the lesson, and Abigail’s wariness and apprehension at her newest student, the more experienced mage was growing quite fond of the sea elf, and felt it would be quite a shame to lose her to the more malignant effects of arcane now. Watching as the crackling ball of electricity slowly drained and dwindles away, Abigail’s look of undisguised worry did not cease in its existence until no trace of the elemental orb was left.
“Alright then, so long as you promise not to exert yourself too much this time around, I’ll teach you one more spell for this brightening before we finish up for this lesson.”
Again, that stern and uncompromising look returned to haunt the woman’s features. There was no way she would brook anything in the way of an argument or contradiction from the other female now.
“Now then, the spell of Elemental Grasp. This spell allows you to envelope your hands in the aura of an element of your choosing. Rest assured that this will not cause you any hurt, Wadatsumi. It’s usually used for hand to hand combat at the benefit of the caster, and, once you’ve attained higher levels in this sphere, you’ll be able to cast the spell so that the aura has a greater intensity, and lasts for a great deal longer. In order to cast it you should try to concentrate your spell in forming around your hands, instead of forming it into the shape of a sphere. Once you’ve told me which mana-sha | |
