The Old Schola

Having been almost completely destroyed during the battle against the merfolk, the Old School House had undergone a reconstruction, received a new name, and been relocated to the southern borders of the town proper, accompanied by the two other training amenities present on the Fire Isle. It was a rather imposing red brick building, it’s austere façade doing nothing to give it any of the charm and character one would associate with other buildings in Demios.

On one side of the main doors, attached to the wall is a rather large bell. The solid wooden door stands slightly ajar as if expecting you to enter. Stepping inside one immediately can see that this is a schoolhouse. To the left there is a small room with the word ‘Office’ painted on the door beyond that is a large classroom. To the right of the door there are two more classrooms; the first room stands empty; the blackboard at the front of the room is devoid of any chalk marks.

”Serale, may I help you? Have you come to enroll in classes? We have many to offer.” a soft voice asks from the open office doorway.

Ganlog strode up the wooden door of the schoolhouse, still wandering his mind as to what he intends to do exactly. He gives a crooked smile to whomever see's him enter then quietly stalks up to the doorway to some office. He clears his throat then peaks his head in. "Serale, an' faire brightenin' tae ye. A'hm lookin' fer lessons in tha study of agricultaer." He gives a small smile then clasps his hands behind his back. "A'hd like tae be learnin' 'bout wheat, and oats. Yah know, so I can's staert a business wit me sistaer. A'h need tae 'ave produce fer her goods. Dou yah teach it?" He gave a final flicker of friendly hope, while quietly rocking back and forth on his heels, a bit of an anxious dwarf.

Shelly, a slender elf with long silver colored hair and violet eyes, listened politely to the stranger as he made his request. She knew nothing about the subject of wheat and oats but was sure she could find him a teacher.

”I’ve not had much call for such classes in recent times but I’m sure I can find you a teacher if you can give me a day or two.” she said hoping that he wouldn’t mind the wait.

As sevquid entered the building, he hoped that he had come to the right place to learn how to build structures. Sevquid looked around for a moment, and then switched his gaze to where the door had come from.

"Serale, my name is Sevquid Broelian, son of Latha'sis'kar Q'Hondar, and I have come to inquire if kyou might be able to find myself a teacher of building, such as building houses, stores, and structures of all different types. I hope that you may be able to help me, because this would greatly benefit me in the long run. So do you think that you could possibly find a teacher for me?" Sevquid said to the voice, without really realizing who he was even talking to at first...

OOC: I am sorry for posting here before being let onto the island, but my online time is limited, but I still like to play Alleria, I hope that is alright.

Danique enters the building; he is wearing civilian clothing a rare site for sure. But this trip was not of Military nature, it was a quest to continue his Arcana training. Hearing the voice from the office he answers Serale, yes I’m here to enroll if you have what I’m looking for. And with another breath he added I’m looking for training in Elementalism, I’m currently an Apprentice and wish to heighten my knowledge.

Shelly was busily scribbling away at some notes she needed for her next class when she noticed the elf enter the building; smiling she listened politely to his request.

” I think I can accommodate you Sevquid, we have some good builders here on the island that would like to take on an apprentice and teach them the trade.” she said smiling brightly.

Shelly had not met too many dracons in her lifetime. Humans mostly populated the island; even elves were in short numbers.

” Serale. We don’t teach arcana here in the school per se but that is not a problem I can take your enrolment and contact the Master in Elementalism on your behalf.” she said with a smile.

Indeed He answered not used to such a warm welcome. Well that is most kind of you milady, if its not much trouble to contact the master then by all means tell me the cost of such training.
Danique’s disposition relaxed as the conversation continued. Perhaps this island doesn’t hold any prejudice toward the Dracon race he pondered in his mind while adding hmm I must be dreaming then

Ganlog gave a short, but courteous nod. "Sounds fin' tae me. A' dun mind tha wait, but cha' knoow, a'hm also thinkin' oof taking some classes oun minin'. A'll be back next brightenin' so per'aps things 'ul be sorted by then." He bowed his head politely, back peddled a few steps then vanished out the door.

Ganlog was prompt about his request, and skidded back into the school with a quickness that belied his dwarf ancestry, bowed his head, hoping not to be the cause of any interruption, and waved his stubby hand to the teacher. "Se'raal! A'hm back again, so's ye 'ave any luc findin' a teachair, or should a' figure tae be trainin' myself?" He gave the registrar a wink, aiming to make light of his serious dilemmas.

Sevquid immedately smiled at the woman's answer. Sevquid was starting to find the pieces he needs to fix his new house, and learn a valuable trade to boot.
"Ma'am, I would appreciate any help that you could give me in finding a master builder to help me with learning the trade. I am looking forward to fixing up my new hovel I just bought. You see it has a bad roof, and some other masonry too. Could you tell me where I could find one of the master builders that might take me on?" Sevquid asked hopefully...

As part of his tour of Demios, Roland decided to visit the school-house. "Serale," he said to Shelly, admiring her pretty violet eyes. He gave her a formal bow.

"I am Roland Moonstar, and I am not actually looking to teach anything. Rather, I find myself a bit short of pocket money, and desire to supplement my income by teaching. I am skilled in all the listed subjects, along with law, Public Speaking and a few odds and ends from my youth as a farmer."

He gave Violet a polite smile and affably waited for her response.

IC: "We will inform the master of your request. Appear at the training grounds next brightening. I do not have any information on the cost, you will have to check with the establishment to learn that. That is all the information I have." She smiles at the dracon once more. Shelly writes down a message on a paper, folds it up, and stamps it with a thin layer of wax. She sets it aside to be sent to the Master of Fire.

Shelly was busy with some filing when the dwarf entered the following day. Looking up from her work she greeted him; indicating a seat should he like to sit down.

”I think we can get you a teacher in agriculture without too much trouble. Would tomorrow be soon enough to start?” she asked politely.

Ooc: You have a wide variety of things you would like to learn. I’m working on finding you someone to meet them all.

Shelly was just about to go off for her lunch when the man walked in; blushing slightly as he gave her a courtly bow (something she was very unused too). Listening politely as he introduced himself and explained his reasons for stopping by.

”Serale Mr. Moonstar, it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance. It’s strange you should happen by today of all days. I’ve had someone enquiring about training in Agriculture. I was just wondering how I was going to be able to help him. The man that usually does such classes has taken to his bed with some ailment or other…” she said pausing for a brief moment

”…you might be just the person I’m looking for to fill his vacancy.” she said pausing to give him an opportunity to say something.

Sevquid was overjoyed and one might notice a slight fire in his eyes that might not have been there a second ago. Sevquid looked at the lady, and spoke...

"I shall be waiting outside for my mentor, when ever that might be. Thank you for helping me out so much, thank you..."

And with that Sevquid almost floated out the door, but that was impossible, so instead he waltzed out the door instead....

Roland nodded. He waited for the teacher to introduce yourself. "Ah, you have me at a disadvantage, Miss...?"

He listened to what she had to say. "Well, that is rather fortuitious for both myself and Demios. I am not a man that coincidence often happens to, so I guess I will not worry overymuch about this one time. After all, I guess it has to happen to everyone once!"

He rubbed the bridge of his nose as he thought about it. "Anyway, I'd be more than willing to help. There is something both exhilirating and magical about the island air of Demios, and I enjoy being a part of it. Simply tell me where to go and who to meet, and after we take care of any necessary paperwork I will then go about it."

Roaming on the street with an indifferent heart to the surrounding, though, everything here were new to the human. In search of schoolhouse was none but the event he was now concerneing. He put his every glance and centralize his eyes on each building that constantly passed him as he was strolling. All of a sudden, he took note of a building, a red brick building, catching his sight towards it, despite there was no notice bar nor title board indicating what it was. Nevertheless, his intuition convinced him that it was the schoolhouse, which he had been looking for thus far since he had moved into the town.

He quickly walked into the building in order to ensure if his intuition was right. It was right, it was true, the answer was transparent, there was indeed a schoolhouse, out of what he saw, there were several classrooms inside the building, and these are the tangible evidences to prove that it was really a schoolhouse. He approached the clerk swiftly by adding the pace of his steps. "Serale, ma'am, I'm here to join the writting class. How much would it cost?"
