Arthro Prasinos Labyrinthos
The Green Labyrinth
The maze sprawled over several acres of rolling hills in the Ieffreon countryside. It sat in the backyard of a large, marble mansion, the product of a bored merchant man with more than just a few crowns to spare sitting around. The hedges were tall, green things, standing over nine feet in height and two feet thick. The walkways within the maze were wide enough for two healthy-sized humans to stroll down side-by-side and they twisted left and right, alternating between curving turns and sharp angles. The hedges were occasionally decorated with colorful flora--bright reds, oranges, and yellows--to decorate the walls and signs were posted nearby to remind guests that these blossoms were edible should any choose to eat of them. Occasionally fountains presented themselves for wandering people to drink their fill from.
A small hut of wood had been constructed at the entrance of the maze and in the open mouth of the hut was stationed a young man in his early twenties with dark, frizzy brown hair cut short to his chin. He was not handsome, his face and hands marked from the pox, but he had one of those wide, superficial smiles that was not unpleasant. He smoothed out his pale blue tunic when people approached and cleared his throat.
"Kalimera. The entrance fee into the maze is 10 crowns a person. This parchment here will tell you all you need to know."
A folded piece of paper scrawled with careful print was passed over the wooden countertop.

There are several exits throughout the length of the maze. If at any time you wish to choose, locate one of the doors in the hedges and make use of it. The heart of the maze is the gem. Find the heart and you will find your solace.
Be aware that all blossoms are fully edible and will cause no harm to your system. Fountains can be found throughout the maze and located by the trickle of water should you become thirsty. We keep tab of our visitors with a number system. If we fail to see you emerge at the end of the brightening, do not fear--you will be found.
