A n I n t r o d u c t i o n

~ The Léonard Bloodlines ~

The House Leonardes has a rich history filled with royalty, nobility, and bloodshed. Though not true nobility, the House has always enjoyed a bit of luxury. This was brought on by its founder's military and business savvy. Richard Leonard bought and sold metals, armour, and weapons during and in between wars. He, himself, was a man raised in a Vagran home who migrated to the Eunesian isles. And though he had only one son, his passion as a warrior would live on in his sons and grandchildren after him.

Richard Leonard marries Lessandra Aubremson. Daughters: Edlene, Anna, Maybelle, Florinda Leonard. Son: Maxamillian Leonard.

Maxamillian married early and had six sons of his own. Old family friends joked that he was redeeming his father's previous misfortunes in bearing male heirs. From the moment they were able to walk and grasp play swords, Maxamillian drilled and trained his own sons in the art of the sword, sending them to military academies to be trained into fine, young officers in the Eunesian Navy. It didn't surprise many when Anabelle died due to a heart ailment -- everyone knew that it broke her heart each time as her boys were turned into soldiers.

To Maxamillian's disappointment, however, all of his sons delighted in the endless sparring, drills, and physical conditioning save for one: his youngest, Felix. Instead of war games, he preferred mathematics and history; and while his brothers accelled in their craft Felix kept out of as many war-related classes he could in a military academy.

No sooner did a war break out and Felix took his chance to leave, bringing with him his pregnant wife, Aylelle, an elf maid whom his father greatly disapproved of.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cousin? Brother? Uncle? Neither? How do I relate?

To join the House Leonardes, you do not necessarily have to be related to Straylor or Ci'aran. In fact, other Houses or individuals may simply ally themselves with the House to share with it their glory and prestige.

But if you choose to be related, you may use any one of the NPCs mentioned above and come up with a backstory for your character. It may even be a distant relative with an entirely different surname if you wish! Be creative, have fun, enjoy the game!

If you'll notice, the 'first generation' has MANY potential mothers / aunts who can marry (almost) ANY race. This brings a great deal of diversity if you wish to be second cousins.


What are the original six brothers Leonardes like?

Alphonse - the eldest of the six. He was the most confident and dominant among his brothers. He was also the most ruthless one, who was known and feared for his swordsmanship that was both unrelenting and unforgiving. After the war he lost contact with his brothers, reportedly become a blacksmith and sword teacher.

Bartram - a lady's man by trade, he had just about as many women as he did arrows for his longbow. A remarkable archer, he won several tournaments in his youth and continued to become a marksman for the Eunesian Navy. He was dishonorably discharged, however, after his affair with his commanding officer's wife surfaced.

Clerence - a wise fool by many standards. He accelled in whatever skill he practiced and all his ventures always prospered. Militarily, he was gifted in the use of the spear and many marines were trained under him. He did not, however, have any sense when it came to spending and enjoyed splurging whatever crowns he had.

Darius - always the rebel, his escapades were always the center of many jokes and anecdotes between the six brothers. While he was not the brightest when it came to scholarly pursuits, he was fiercely competitive and eventually attained the rank of captain in the Eunesian Navy. He is a proud spirit, stubborn, and excessively talkative when provoked. He died in a duel, leaving his family and any other bastards he might have sprung.

Edward - the baby of the family by nature, Ed chose the route of Arcana rather than pursue combat-related fields like his older brothers. With his talents, he ascended to the level of Mage Corporal for the Eunesian Navy and led an elite division of magi in special military operations. Shy and usually reserved, little is known about him after he retired from the Navy.

Felix - the odd ball of the family. Unlike his brothers who pursued careers in the military, Felix lived a secret life outside the expectations and responsibilities set bfore him. After barely graduating from the academy, a war broke out and he along with his brothers were immediately summoned for duty. But Felix never reported. He left his home, took his wife and fled to Medonia where they hoped to start anew.


What's the catch? Is this a trick? What do you get out of this

Not really. At least, I don't hope so. And me? Getting something? Umm ... nothing much, really. Other than a prospective friend and fellow writer to share ideas with at the end of the day.


Do I (the reader) get anything out of this?

By joining the House or affiliating with us, you do not get bonus gold or anything of that sort of thing. But by roleplaying and interacting with our members, it's not unheard of to get training, room, board, etc. We're all family after all!
