Plant has thick stems and blue-green lacy leaves, and grows in clumps of several bushes usually. In summer it has orange and yellow flowers which look like tiny buttons. The seeds from the tiny flowers which orm buttons fade in Autumn and the dried seed pods can then be harvested and ground into powder. The powder can then be mixed with hot or cold water and drunk to relieve hunger pains. It does not substitute for nourishment, however, but can alleviate the symptoms of hunger and fatigue for up to 24 hours.
