Hwandi (plural - hwandir) - Hwandi is a vampiric fungus that grows upon trees, causing them to twist and spiral unnaturally. It feeds from the tree, slowly poisoning the surrounding plant life until all the nutrients have been drained. Folklore says that hwandi was created by Xenarius, the anti-god of Nature, to harm Carmelya, which may be true. It was used by the Vysstichi as a weapon against thickly-forested Trelore. It is deadly to plant life, dryads and nymphs, and can be used to poison elves and other races, too.
