Summer, Era XI Post-Fractum in the Age of the Darkening
An era after the capitulation of the Kingdom of Jaedaxia and the subsequent creation of the Imperial Protectorate of Northumbria and the occupation of the city, news is once again coming out of the Freeport of Jaedaxia in the Empire's northern frontiers.
Civilian Council
The Second Imperial Legion announced its intent to create a 4 seat Civilian Council that will represent the people of Jaedaxia and counsel the Second Imperial Legion. The council will consist of four positions:
Council Chairman – Head of the council, lead civilian authority
Chamberlain – Internal Affairs, such as transportation, censorship and propaganda
Exchequer – The economy, expenditure, and taxation policies
Archbishop – Representative of the Church of the Faith
Applicants for the first three (Chairman, Chamberlain, and Exchequer) are to be made at
Chateau Rosé, the Second Legion's headquarters. The seat for the Archbishop will be filled by an appointee of the Church of the Faith.
The Civilian Council is the first step the Second Legion is taking in establishing a civilian government that will be loyal to the Allerian Empire and be capable of governing Jaedaxia once the Second Legion is withdrawn. A representative of the Legion said that, although the council is to represent the people of Jaedaxia, the Legion would give preferential treatment to applicants from the rest of the Allerian Empire. His explanation was that, "Applicants from outside of Jaedaxia are less likely to be aligned to any insurgency movements."
Hunt for the Oligarchs Continues
An era after the beginning of the Occupation, four members of the Kingdom's former government, dubbed Oligarchs, remain at large. They are King Andrei Richelieu de Mer, Chamberlain Christophe Loraunne, Exchequer Victor Palotte, and Chancellor Richard Yduin.
There is a 100 000 Crown bounty on King Andrei Richelieu de Mer, who is believed to be at the head of a royalist insurgent movement.
There is a 50 000 Crown bounty on Chamberlain Christophe Loraunne, previously the de facto Thane of Jaedaxia and the man who declared the existence of the Kingdom and the secession of Jaedaxia.
There is a 25 000 Crown bounty on Chancellor Richard Yduin, who was in command of Jaedaxia's Royal Army and the Commoner's Militia.
There is a 10 000 Crown bounty on Exchequer Victor Palotte, who was in charge of Jaedaxia's budgetary and fiscal policies under the kingdom.
Those who wish to seek out these four Oligarchs are asked to visit
Chateau Valerian the prison for captured insurgents and political prisoners. There, a relative of Victor Palotte is being held and interrogated regarding his location.
Strange Occurrences
In addition to all of this, there have been
several strange sightings in Jaedaxia of late.
From the southeastern Bridge District come rumours of a troll haunting a particular bridge. There are reports of a siren plaguing the Eastern Harbour at dawn, luring young men into the sea and drowning them. Finally, there are stories of a maleformed man robbing coffins from a cemetery in the Freeport District.
Imperial Legionnaires have investigated all three sightings, but come to no conclusions as to how deal with them or their origins.
