Lieutenant Governor Dead
Time Stamp: Summer of Era X in the Age of the Darkening
Orodisia of the Third Cycle of Ioannes.
MEDONIA, Enamoria
Lieutenant Governor Khavon Tannic was found early last brightening in his bed. The man had apparently been infected by the Pox seventeen brightenings previously. It was the misfortune of the Lieutenant Governor's lifetime housemate to find him. The housemate had this to say:
Quote:
|
I don't what happened. He wouldn't let me come see him for so long. All I heard was coughing all brightening. When it stopped, I thought maybe he was better. Strange isn't it? Go to sleep one brightening and then wake up dead?
|
The details of Tannic's death are yet to be released to the public. But one can only imagine the horrid state he had been found in. If we take a look at other Pox victims, we can get some idea as to what our beloved Lieutenant Governor was going through in the final stages of his life.
It would have started out as a simple cough and an upset stomach. Leading to fatigue, change of skin color, sore joints, nose bleeds, brittle bones. The list of symptoms goes on. Eventually he would have died by drowning in his own blood and bile. This is not a glamorous disease. The Pox has been plaguing Medonia for over a pattern. The number of dead and unaccounted for is growing with each passing brightening.
The death of Khavon Tannic couldn't have come at a worse time for Enamoria. The Governor, Elanara Al'lende, has gone missing. Many presume her to be dead already. Who will the province turn to now? The Legate, Moranor Andares? The Justicar, Dyntia Noenth? Or will someone else step up and claim they have some right to the position?

No, Moranor is a Legate, not the Lt Gov. Perhaps he was unawares of an npc Lt Gov who was still kicking around, healthy and well during the spring.

/me wonders if as a former imperial Consul to Enamoria it would be wise to get involved or if Centripax remains safer for her... -_-

I confess I did think the Lt Gov was already dead. Well, proves I was just ahead of my time.

Hehe, it's all good, Moranor. I think you'll be a great Governor if you get the chance.

Iseril? Pah, I'd laugh iseril out of the province, Enamoria needs real leaders, not family mistakes. ^_^
But somehow I don't think Stephan is going to have to look out for Cass, nor will I....

This should be fun. Traditionally, provinces tend to have their own interim line of succession until the Empress can order a new governor in place. The Articles of Imperium requires that a governor be confirmed by the Imperial Senate as well (or, the Imperial Senate must be disbanded/dismissed - not a very popular option, so monarchs tend to strive to appoint candidates who are approved by the Imperial Senate). Following that, Governors tend to have a great deal of lattitude in appointing all officials beneath them.

Kaelon and all others involved should take a look here and read up on my responce to the curent situation. In addition Juan, if you have not yet done so, you should consider taking a look at the letter I dispatched to the Emperor and have linked for you in PM.
