7th of Cryxatum, season of Summer, Era XIV pf

The Barracks, located in the Ranger Hall, built with muted gray colored stone was a cold lonely home. If it was not for the other various races, humans, elves, and faes, milling about, the halfling might have felt alone. The excitement of moving to the hall faded quickly. After only being there less than a brightening, Eldrew missed his hovel. His whole life was changing, but he was unsure if it was for better or worse.

The cot, made of squared lumber hammered expertly together, was oversized. The mattress stuffed with feathers felt scratchy again his skin. The blanket was of soft blue dyed wool. He would make the best of it. He was not here for comfort; he was here to learn.

His footlocker held his personal belongings. Two sets of clothes were all he had to his name. One he was wearing. Everything was laid out neatly in the trunk. On the left side, folded, was his light green tunic. The brown belt that held it tight against his body sat on top in a coil. His brown boots sat to the right of the tunic along with his newly purchased wrist guard. That would be used greatly.

Eldrew took out a sheet of parchment and a quill. He had decided to keep a journal of his experience during his quest to be a ranger.

7th of Cryxatum, summer, Era XIVpf

I have finally made it to the Ranger Hall. Upon my entering I met with my soon to be trainer, the Rangermistress Owaten Aspenpath. I am to begin my training in the morning. They sure do not mess around. I miss my hovel, but it will not cause me to cancel my training. The food in the Dining Hall was good. I thank I ate better there then I ever had before. It is getting late and the excitement of the day has tired me. Time for some well needed sleep.

Today was tiring. Rangermistress Aspenpath work me pretty hard. I can say one thing, I learned a great deal. Here I thought I knew what I was doing. Ha. I will need to remember to practice everyday. I have a test in the morning. Remember proper form and stance. Somehow I need to hit closer to the center. I guess it will take some time. At least I did not miss again.

Well I did it. I passed the test. Rangermistress gave me a certificate that allows me to visit the other Ranger Halls in Aelyria. I may just take her up on that offer. I think I should find someone who can train me in the ways of the druid, then I'll go exploring for a while. It might be good for me to go on a little adventure. Who knows, I might even make some new friends.

Well I was told that there is a person that could train me up in the ways of nature. I am to follow a path that leads to a grove of trees. A bench should be in the middle. I hope these guys are not pulling my leg. Everyone has been messing with me as of late. I think they are jealous that I am advancing quicker then they. Well off I go. Hope this is not a wild goose chase.

Well everything turned out alright. I guess they were not messing with after all. I met the strangest little creature. A dryad. First time every for me as I can recall. However, queer she may have seemed, she is mighty powerful. Reaching the Astral Plane was exciting in the journey. I learned a growth spell. Hmm.... I wonder if it would work on me. That would be funny. It is weird how the mind works. I could have sworn that was a hawk I befriended. Guess I will need to meditate more on the matter. Well off to bed. I need to meet with her in the morning. I wonder what is in store for me.
