Realised at last
Sometime in Kalendryas, Era XIII
It was perhaps time for Alethar to take that step with Glorandur, to finally have her teach him some necromancy. He sat in the office of the headmistress doing what he had done for many days before now. Merely pawing through books on every subject be it arcane or not, he had studied the planes, astronomy, creatures of Arium and beyond, the history of Vortex and knew a lot now in his own opinion. He was clad in his brown robe, and resting on the table before him was a simple staff, both loot he had taken from the Collegium. He was sure they would not be missed.
She would find him when she wanted him, for now he merely sat and flicked the pages of one of his books, it was about religion, but along side his studies he cared little for it.

And she found him. Lady Glorandur Al’lende stepped into the headmistress’ office, dressed in a floor length black silk gown that was decorated with silver stones. It had been taken from the corpse of a dead vysstichi noblewoman. She was a bit cleaner, a bit more graceful now. She spent more time making sure she looked good now – although she always denied it vehemently when Alethar asked her about it and told him he suffered from hallucinations. Her dark hair was tied back, and her green eyes sparkled. In her right hand she carried a copy of the Herald. Interesting things were happening in the Empire.
She stood in the doorway for a moment and looked at him. She came closer slowly, quietly and looked over his shoulder. “Religion, Alethar?” she asked and smirked. “I did not think that you were interested in that, apart from where your beloved Phedos is concerned. Oh ... and I see that you finally found yourself a staff ...” She took the book from him and proceeded to sit down on his lap. Good manners were overrated. If she wanted something, she always took it and did not care what the others thought of it.
She tossed the copy of the Herald on the desk. Alethar could clearly see the Headline. Apparently the third sun had disapeared, and meteors were falling from the sky. Vortex seemed to have been spared thus far. “So ...” she began. She did not waste a lot of time with smalltalk. “Did you think about my offer? Do you want me to teach you in exchange for that small favour or would you much rather study with the dragon’s people?”

"yes I found myself a staff, I shall make do with that one till I can make my own staff." He smiled at her, and as she sat in his lap he supported her back and put his free hand on her stomach. Gently he looked up at her, "As you know I did not...become Thane, too much too soon, my arrogance was overpowering, but in the next few days I am going to go back to Nexus Prime and apply to become the Govenor's agent in this Dark Elf city, acting as his eyes and ears. Something tells me I may have a greater chance of that role, and it will suit my needs more, allow me to advise the Thane and increase my stock with the govenor, and one day I shall gain a greater role with my political experience." He smiled at her and rubbed her stomach gently with his hand soothing her affectionately.
"I shall keep my relations with the Dragons people, but I wish to be taught by you, to learn skills from a personal teacher. Perhaps one day Toherro will teach me, but for now my dear it shall be you. In theory I know Necromancy as a master, I have memorised all common spells but I have not ability to cast."
"And let us be honest you have been waiting for this, for the time when you get to exert control over me. As your bedfellow and as your apprentice, well gloat all you wish but teach me some skills. I thought you could organise my initial training and then my real desire is to perfect my summoning, so perhaps Barra could teach me the skills of animation and summoning." He looked at her gently, "Sounds good?"

„And you think de Merchante will hire you now?“ she asked. To Glorandur it was the most normal thing in the world to sit on her lover’s lap and talk about politics. “May I suggest that you try not to be as arrogant when you visit him again? You don’t have any experience with that kind of thing, and even though I know that you are perfectly capable of doing the job, he’ll want proof. He is a fool, but a fool that we have to live with ... for now ...”
She kissed him. It was something she had to do. It was good that she had allowed Alethar to return to her side. Without him she would still wear dirty clothes, walk around in the ruins and eventually get desperate enough to take a goblin as a lover.
“You know necromancy as a Master?” She smiled. “I am a Master, and I would be willing to start your training right now if you get a bottle of red wine for both of us. It will pay a special part in this ...” She did not tell him what wine and arcana had to do with each other. That would be explained later.
“Barra? You want Barra to teach you animation?” She was offended, but only for a moment. Glorandur could summon zombies as well, but Barra had done it for ages. “Very well, but I suggest that you pay him a visit first and get to know him. He’s a strange man ...”
“You know, Alethar, I missed you. I hate to admit it, but I really did ...”

"Well I doubt he will even see me, but one never knows. If he does not see me then I shall throw my lot in down here and try to become the force below ground that I cannot be above it." He smiled at himself but was somewhat saddened by his past failures.
"And I know you missed me my dear, I missed you as well naturally. As for the wine I am unsure of where to get some, have you been hiding a stash down here somewhere?" He glanced about gently seeing if he could spot the elusive vintage, he had not had wine for some time and quite fancied a drop now.
"Still tell me where to get this wine and I shall get it, I dont fancy leaving the collegium at present however."

„And when you’ve become a force below ground, you can conquer the world above once more”, she said. “Many have done the same. You need experience, you need power, you need an army behind you, and nothing will stand in your way ...” She liked it, this thinking of what might be, of what could happen in the distant or not so distant future. But it seemed that she would have to comfort him, cheer him up before he realized that nothing had been lost yet. “There is no reason to be sad, Alethar. Even the greatest villains have to start small ...”
Glorandur was in an odd mood, as always. She felt like making fun of him and being nice to him at the same time. She lifted him up and let him know exactly how much he had to learn and how much work there was to do.
“In the next room to the left”, she answered. “The Headmistress had quite the collection of wine and brandy and ale. It would have made any tavern proud. Since I did not want to go to the cellar every time I felt like drinking something, I decided to store a few bottles of my favourite wine upstairs. You should find them in the cabinet ...”
